The Ghost of The Bat Season 1: Episode 1

Hello, this is a series that deals with batman dying of old age and fighting off demons in the afterlife alongside specter and many other fallen heroes. The series also shows the other side of the living heroes grieving the passing of so many and continue to fight the new threats. Here's episode 1's script

Season 1: Episode 1: The Death Upon Us 

1 As the night went along, the dark knight, now at the prime age of 80, is trying to stand his ground against the younger new villains. Batman seemingly groaned in pain as he was beaten down. There were 3 main new villains, one an imitation of the joker but more modernized. Another was a girl who was all about tech enhancements. The last one being a guy who used electricity as a weapon. As they fought on the roof, the joker wannabe kicked Batman in the calf which made Batman fall to his knees. The wannabe joker said “now the bats will be out of our hair, after all you’ve tried to do batsy, my family finally has worn you down.” As he laughs like the joker and does in a final kick to Batman in the jaw, sending him falling to the ground. It was like slow motion for the Batman as he fell close to the ground. Remembering all of his achievements, villains passing on, his family. He closed his eyes as he made it closer to the ground and with a loud thud, the Batman was no more. The wannabe joker and the other two looked down from the roof and said “now that the bats gone, let’s go terrorize the city, great grandfather would’ve wanted it that way.” He and the other two laughed and ran off the roof. As Batman’s now dead corpse laid on the ground, a familiar sound could be heard. It was of Ace, barking in the streets, looking for his master. Ace soon got the scent and ran over to Batman. He tries to wake him but to no avail. Ace lays on top of Batman’s corpse til Red Robin and Batgirl arrive, hoping he was just unconscious. Batman soon opens his eyes, looking around as he sat up, soon seeing Ace. He stood up seemingly without Ace moving off of him. Batman soon looks at his hands and waves them, finding out that he was not of that world now. Batman soon looks to Ace to see that he died. Batman walks over to where Ace was and tried to rub his head, trying to make sure Ace knew he was there. 

2 Shortly after Ace looked around as he felt a little of the rubbing. Batman soon heard sirens coming from nearby. Batman soon felt dizzy, shortly blacking out on the ground. Batman’s body was taken to the hospital, thinking they could save him. Unfortunately he was dead on impact, Tim and Barbra made the plans for the funeral. There were many people there, including the justice league, Barbra, Tim, catwoman, and many more. All the mourn over his passing, seeing his body one last time before entering the ground. Batman soon opens his eyes, soon getting up and seeing the area around him now is a blue and whitish haze. Batman began to look around more and more as he wondered where he might’ve been. He thought “this must be where heroes go when they die, looks much different from what spectre showed me.” As he looked around more to see infinite space around him. Soon after Batman felt another presence nearby. A familiar voice graced his presence, a laugh from behind. Batman turned around and threw a batarang towards the shadows. Joker was standing amongst the darkness, laughing as he said “well look who finally kicked the bucket.” Batman said “Joker, how did you end up here?” Joker laughed and said “oh Batsy you don’t remember do you?” Batman rubbed his head and said “that night,” as the imagery of Joker in an electric chair. Batman stood behind the glass watching Joker. Commissioner Gordon said “Joker, you have been accounted for countless amounts of manslaughter and other various crimes. The court came to the final decision of electrocution, any last words?” Joker looked at Batman and said “See you in hell.” As Joker laughed, a cop pulled the lever causing Joker to groan painfully. Joker twitches all over as electricity coded his body as if spiders crawled all over him. Joker’s body soon became lifeless as his soul left his body. 

3 Joker in the present said “you watched me die, just as your parents. And now that you are here, you will suffer too.” As Joker laughs once more as Batman went for a punch which Joker dodged. Batman kept throwing punches and Joker continued dodging. Joker laughed more and kicked Batman to the ground. Batman groaned as he hit the ground while Joker stood over him. Joker said “you’re weak Batsy, seems like dying has left you a shadow of the man you once were.” Joker went to kick Batman until Joker was shot in the chest by an arrow to the wall. Batman looked up to see Joker pinned to the wall by an arrow dead. Batman looked up to see Green Arrow holding his bow. Batman got up and said “Green Arrow how did you get here?” Green Arrow said “I am not Green Arrow, and that wasn’t the Joker.” As Batman and Green Arrow looked at Joker’s body, it faded to reveal a demon body. Green Arrow said “I’ll explain later, we need to get to safety first.” Batman and Green Arrow run through the town into an abandoned bar. Green Arrow locked the door and Batman said “so who are you?” Green Arrow turned to him and said “an old friend.” As Green Arrow began to shine all over and reveal himself in his true form, the spectre. Batman said “spectre, why did you save me?” spectre said “I saved you because you are needed here.” Batman said “what do you mean?” spectre said “that creature was a demon, it tried to trick you and take you down to hell, ever since demons have broken through to purgatory, they have terrorized and killed passing spirits causing them to be lost forever. With you as well as other hero spirits, we can put an end to the demon’s reign.” Batman said “other hero spirits?” A voice spoke amongst the shadows saying “hello Bruce.” Batman was shocked and said “Jason?” Jason Todd walked out of the shadows being followed by Richard Grayson and Barry Allen. Batman turned around to see them as spectre said “the spirits of Jason Todd, Richard Grayson and Barry Allen have landed in purgatory and survived their encounters with demons.” 

4 Batman said “what do you know about these demons?” Richard Grayson said “they are extremely powerful and can take form of anyone as an advantage.” spectre said “but they do have one weakness.” Jason Todd said “when they take the form of the person they take as an advantage, they also have their flaws as well.” spectre said “as Joker was very cocky, that was the downfall of the demon I took down.” Batman said “so why don’t they just stay as themselves and use their powers?” Barry Allen said “they seek more enjoyment of killing their prey, get into your psyche by taking the form of a foe, a friend, a family member, anything that means something to you they pull so they can take more out of you than just killing you.” Batman said “I see, so what is the plan?” spectre said “normally the demons come out when a soul becomes ready to pass to hell or heaven, as an angel spirit, I can sense when they come out and we take them head on.” spectre felt a presence nearby and felt his head. spectre said “another hero has passed on, let’s move.” spectre, Batman, Richard Grayson, Jason Todd and Barry Allen ran out of the bar to the streets where a spirit can be seen. The spirit was blue beetle, at the prime age of 50 dying by the hands of Arion. Blue Beetle got up and looked around as he was confused where he was. Demons were standing upon the rooftops watching him. One demon taking the form of Traci Thurston, his love. The demon jumped down and acted like she was crying to get his attention. Blue beetle removed his mask and looked to Traci saying “oh Traci!” As he ran over to her and kneeled down to her. spectre now appearing as Superman shouted “Jamie it’s a trap!” Blue Beetle looked back and the demon in the form of Traci’s eyes glowed red as the demon kicked him down. Blue Beetle fell to the ground and looked back seeing it wasn’t Traci. 

5 The demon jumped on top of him and was about to kill his soul until the demon was shot back to the wall by a combination of Superman’s heat vision and wind like breath. The demon hit the wall and fell to the ground. Batman helped Blue Beetle up and said “quick we need to get you to safety.” Richard Grayson saw Starefire and ran over to her thinking she was another lost soul. Richard Grayson said “Starfire, we need to get you out of here.” Starfire smirked and grabbed ahold of Richard Grayson and threw him into a wall. Richard Grayson groaned then looked up to see her eyes were red, it was a demon. Richard Grayson said “let’s dance then.” As he pulled out his sticks and began to clash with the demon Starfire. Batman got Blue Beetle into the abandoned bar and said “stay in here, lock yourself in until you see us coming back.” Blue Beetle said “but Batman I can help-” Batman said “these demons aren’t easy to take down, let us handle this.” Blue Beetle sighed and said “alright, I’ll stay in here.” Batman ran back out to the battle seeing Spectre as Superman fighting Bizzaro, Richard Grayson fighting Starfire, Jason Todd fighting Scarecrow. Batman heard Mr. Freeze behind him say “N-ice to see you again Batman.” Batman turned to see Mr. Freeze and said “not only did you copy his form, but his horrible puns too. Let’s see if you’re easy to beat.” Batman jumped behind Mr. Freeze as the demon Mr. Freeze blasted his ice gun towards Batman. Batman threw two batarangs towards Mr. Freeze which cut his ice tubes. Mr. Freeze tried to fix the tubes but fell to the ground, losing its form as the demon kneeled to the ground panting. Batman kicked the demon to the ground and tossed a bat-grenade down as he flipped over the demon, causing the demon to explode behind Batman. Starfire threw red energy balls at Richard Grayson as they continued to fight. Richard Grayson flipped backwards towards a building and saw a reflective piece of glass. 

6 As Starfire threw another energy blast, Richard Grayson shielded himself with the piece of reflective glass. The energy ball bounced off the reflective glass and hit Starfire, causing the demon to lose form. Richard Grayson ran to the demon and stuck his sticks into its chest killing it. Jason Todd dodged Scarecrow’s gas bombs and soon got the upper hand pinning him to the ground. Scarecrow almost hit Jason Todd in the head with a fear bomb until Jason Todd grabbed his wrist and clenched it causing Scarecrow to drop the fear bomb. Jason Todd grabbed it and shoved it into Scarecrow’s mask then ran far from him as the bomb went off causing the demon to lose its form. The demon dizzy from the bomb, Jason Todd grabbed ahold of it and threw the demon towards a building. The demon landed on a broken street pole which stabbed through its chest and died. Barry Allen fought 2 demons side by side, taking the form of Captain Cold and Reverse Flash. Barry Allen kicked Captain Cold to a wall while the began hand to hand combat at a fast pace with Reverse Flash. Barry Allen got the upper hand until Captain Cold fired his ice gun at them both. Barry Allen held Reverse Flash in front of him, shielding himself from Captain Cold’s blast. Reverse Flash was stuck in ice as Barry Allen ran towards Captain Cold. Barry Allen punched Captain Cold mid-run which caused Captain Cold to fall to the ground. Barry Allen picked Captain Cold up and ran up a wall of another building. Reverse Flash reverted to its demon form and took the form of Brainiac and got out of the ice. Barry Allen dangled Captain Cold over the edge of the building and took his ice gun. Barry Allen shot an ice blast at Captain Cold causing his body to be encased with ice. Barry Allen dropped Captain Cold off the edge and before the demon could form into another villain, it crashed into shards on impact. Barry Allen sighed and said “that was a close on-” 

7 Barry Allen was picked up by some force. Brainiac held Barry Allen in telepathy as he said “this will be your doomsday Flash.” From the shadows Batman’s voice can be heard saying “not yet Brainiac.” As Batman shot electro ropes into Brainiac causing electric shocks to appear in his body making him short circuit. Batman caught Barry Allen in mid air as they jumped off the roof. Before the demon could take another form, it realized Batman stuck a bomb on its back and said “oh no.” As Brainiac exploded, Batman landed to the ground with Barry Allen. Spectre as Superman was still battling Bizzaro. Superman soon hits the wall from being thrown into it by Bizzaro. Bizzaro flew towards him and flinged him into another wall. Superman looked up groggy as he saw Bizzaro coming in for another strike until Batman shot a grappling hook into the building next to Superman and flew past Superman saying “use his weakness!” and handing him a blue kryptonite shard. Superman stabbed the blue kryptonite shard into Bizzaro. The demon reformed into its original form and died as it fell to the ground containing the shard in its chest. Spectre soon reformed into his original form as he met up with the others. Batman said “I think we got them all for now. We need to head back to Jamie.” As they went back to the bar, Blue Beetle unlocked the doors. They all walked inside and Spectre said to Blue Beetle “Jamie, you have a choice to be made, you can stay here and fight demons alongside us, or go to heaven and be free from darkness.” Blue Beetle thought about it and said “so if I go up there, I will see my family again, but if I stay here, I can continue fighting against evil. I choose to stay and fight.” Spectre said “it has been done, you are now part of our little demon squad.”  Barry Allen said “what do we do now?” Batman said “we keep an eye on anyone else who travels here, do what we do best and fight against evil.”

8 Richard Grayson said “well said Bruce, well said.” As he pats Batman on the back.
