Project Description

Kur Animation Studio is currently producing a cinematic animated trailer for The Fall of Aegis, an original post-apocalyptic science-fiction story.

Humanity abandoned Earth after civilization became unsustainable.

For 120 years, survivors lived beyond their homeworld aboard orbital and deep-space infrastructure, waiting for the possibility that Earth might one day become habitable again.

Then Aegis-9 falls.

After a catastrophic meteor strike cripples the orbital research station, Commander Reza initiates Project Descent, sending thirty young survivors toward the planet below.

Among them is seventeen-year-old Lysandra “Lys” Rin.

But shortly before Aegis-9's destruction, Reza discovers something disturbing.

Lys's neural profile has been deliberately altered.

The girl who was once kind, diplomatic, and capable of holding people together has been rewritten into someone colder—ruthless, manipulative, unpredictable, and dangerously willing to put her own survival first.

Someone within the Ark Council wanted her sent to Earth that way.

And Earth is no longer the abandoned world humanity remembers.

Ruined cities have been swallowed by nature. Toxic fog makes entire regions lethal. Old shelters, highways, malls, vehicles, and remnants of civilization lie scattered across the landscape.

And the people descending from Aegis are not alone.

The trailer begins with the destruction of Aegis-9 and Commander Reza's discovery of what was done to Lys before transitioning into Lys's descent and arrival on the surface.

The project combines cinematic 3D environments and character animation with traditional 2D anime-inspired effects and compositing.

Visual Direction

The production is aiming for a serious, cinematic anime presentation rather than a cartoony 3D aesthetic.

The visual language combines realistic sci-fi environments, anime-influenced character design, dramatic cinematography, environmental storytelling, atmospheric lighting, and selective hand-drawn 2D effects.

The opening aboard Aegis-9 has a cold industrial science-fiction aesthetic: emergency lighting, pressure doors, narrow command corridors, orbital views of Earth, failing systems, sparks, smoke, and catastrophic structural damage.

Earth provides the contrast: enormous abandoned landscapes, ruined cities reclaimed by vegetation, toxic environments, decaying remnants of civilization, and an unsettling sense that something has been living there while humanity was gone.

Roles We're Looking For

Voice Actor — Commander Reza

Adult male voice. Reza is the commander of Aegis-9: disciplined, pragmatic, exhausted, and increasingly horrified by what the Ark Council has become. His performance during the trailer needs controlled authority rather than exaggerated shouting. Even during the station's destruction, he is someone accustomed to giving orders under pressure.

Voice Actor — Lysandra “Lys” Rin

Female, character age 17. Lys is intelligent, observant, calculating, and emotionally restrained. Following the unauthorized modification of her neural profile, there is something subtly wrong about her behavior. We are looking for a performance capable of being calm and believable while carrying an undercurrent of unpredictability.

2D FX Animator

Needed for hand-drawn anime-style enhancement over rendered 3D footage. Potential work includes impact frames, sparks, electrical effects, atmospheric streaks, smoke accents, debris enhancement, speed effects, and other stylized animation.

Compositor / VFX Artist

Needed to integrate rendered 3D footage with 2D effects and environmental passes. Work may involve lighting enhancement, glow, atmosphere, smoke, depth, screen effects, impact enhancement, and final cinematic grading.

Sound Designer

Needed to build the sonic identity of Aegis-9 and Earth: station ambience, alarms, structural impacts, pressure doors, machinery, meteor destruction, debris, environmental ambience, respirator sounds, and cinematic transitions.

What We're Looking For

This is an independent production, but the goal is to approach it with an animation-studio production pipeline rather than a casual fan-project workflow.

Applicants should be comfortable receiving shot references, storyboards, timing information, character/environment sheets, and revision notes. Reliability and communication matter as much as technical skill.

For animation and VFX positions, please provide a reel or examples demonstrating the specific discipline you're applying for.

For voice actors, a clean home-recording setup is strongly preferred. Please submit takes without music, excessive processing, or sound effects so we can evaluate the performance and recording quality directly.
