The Dolls of New Albion
Project Overview
The Dolls of New Albion: A Steampunk Opera is a rock opera written by Paul Shapera. It follows the fictional town of New Albion as it deals with the McAllister family and their antics of love, reincarnation, government overthrowing, and death. This is a four act production that goes through four generations of the family. The show runs about 90 minutes through the four acts. For this production, I will be needing singers for the narrator, the four McAllisters, Jasper the doll, and other smaller roles. I will also be needing artists and mixers for the tracks, since I have no art skills and I cannot edit everything within the time frame I want this finished. It will be posted as one video on my channel instead of individual videos.

Annabel is the first McAllister that we meet. She is a scientist who was expelled from school and lost her true love. After he does, she attempts to bring him back through science into the body of a doll. She goes on to realize that her love doesn't want to be back alive, so she destroys him and hides her work away. The singer should be an alto/soprano female who is able to act out defeat, bits of insanity, and love. Please include your discord.

Jasper is the formerly alive love of Annabel. He was a student at the academy that met a woman, fell in love, and had a kid. He perished under unknown circumstances and was brought back to life twice. He went through an insane former lover, a man who abused him to persuade his daughter, a man who tried to put him in the mayoral seat, and a young lady who caused his final release from his undead life. This singer should be a tenor male who can perceive pain and struggle in their singing. Please also have a radio filter on hand for the majority of the singing parts. Please include your discord.

The son of Annabel who seeks to court his love Fay. However, he is rejected because she found another love. Edgar, in a fit of vengeance, uses his mother's old plans for the dolls to bring back Fay's father and start an empire of building dolls. He uses Fay's father to persuade and manipulate her back into his life. I'm looking for a tenor to voice Edgar. Please have a bit of range to represent trauma, rejection, and anger.

Byron is the son of Edgar and Faye who grows up during the voodoopunk reign. He joins the elusive cult and attempts to get Jasper as the mayor. However, his blind love for the doll distracts him from his true love Amelia, who ends up dying. After her death, Byron tries to defend the dolls but ends up only saving Jasper. For Byron, I'm once again looking for a tenor voice who can bring the energy of a politician into their voice. Be able to create a persuading confidence when you sing. Please include your discord.

The daughter of Byron and his trophy wife, Priscilla is the final McAllister of our tale. After New Albion becomes a police state, Priscilla hides away with Jasper to prevent his destruction. She realizes that keeping Jasper safe isn't what he wants and she sacrifices herself. For Priscilla, I would like either an alto or a tenor of younger age who can produce peacefulness and reverence in their singing. She is young, yet mighty, so bring that with your performance. Amelia is the young love of Byron who ends up dying from shame and the realization that there is nothing for her in this world. This role does bring forward the themes of suicide and trauma and does lead to Amelia killing herself, so please only audition for this role if you are comfortable singing about this topic. I'm looking for an alto or soprano for this who can convey the feelings of nothingness and meaningless in the grand scheme of Byron's plan. Please include your discord.

Soldier 7285 is the newest soldier in the platoon for New Albion's police rule. This is a tenor role that requires a lot of energy. This is a role of confidence that leads to struggle and the hope for revolution. Bring the energy! Please include your discord.
