PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
Hello there! Recently, I was convinced by my best friend to run a D&D Campaign with him, and some of our other friends, set in a fantasy world he and I created as part of a larger story we came up with as kids. With that in mind, I decided I wanted to try and do something cool for all them. And so, I decided to put my talent as a writer to good use, and came up with this: A scripted audio drama cold open, or "Prologue".
SETTING THE SCENE
SEVENTEEN YEARS have passed since the final battle that ended the time known as the SECOND DARKNESS. However, it has been twenty years since the ancient Kingdom of RUOR, which has stood since the First Age of VALIOS, has seemingly gone silent.
SEVEN YEARS AGO, dark and strange, never before seen creatures began appearing on the borders. In that time, these sightings became more and more common. Finally, a few months ago, it all culminated in attacks by these creatures on multiple villages along the massive mountain range known as the REDSTONE MOUNTAINS that acts as the border between Ruor and the rest of the continent of AUREA.
In response, a WAR COUNCIL between the RULERS of almost all the kingdoms and nations of Aurea has been called to discuss these recent incursions and their response to them. These MONARCHS, LORDS, and LADIES, gather at a secret meeting place in the land of EASTREACH, North of Ruor on a beautiful Summer's Eve.
I can't wait to finally bring this world to life for my friends, and I really hope this whole thing comes together! And yes, I am also planning on dropping this on it's own on my YouTube channel, so that anyone involved can see, or rather hear, the end result of their work. As well as to act as a showcase of my writing and voice acting abilities, as I will be voicing one of the key characters in the script (As he appears in the Mini-Campaign that this Prologue is for, and is major player in said campaign).
You MUST have a Discord so that I can add you to the project server, to which I will provide a link for upon casting.
Higher quality audio is preferred (XLR Microphones are a big plus). However, ALL are welcome to audition!
All characters will have a VOICE REFERENCE to go with them, as well as a link to a video of said voice reference. Use them as a guideline for your audition. However, feel free to experiment, change it up, do different takes on what YOU think the character you're auditioning for could sound like.
Below is the link to the FULL, COMPLETED SCRIPT Doc. I recommend reading the first page, which has the pronunciations of names and places that are mentioned in the script. The other 8 1/2 pages, give or take, is the actual script itself. Please feel free to give that a read-through, as well!
