Project Overview
Pomni isn't an adventurer-- she's just a regular bard, who travels from town to town, singing songs to keep everyone happy and hopeful during these dangerous times. But her travel companion Caine has an important Quest she needs to deliver to a notoriously chaotic adventuring group the general public likes to call the Traveling Circus. Despite what her best friend Gummigoo thinks, Pomni embarks on her very first adventure with the strangest rag-tag group of people she's ever gotten to know, to eradicate the Abstraction Virus that's been terrorizing the world for centuries now. Will she be able to find some new material to write more songs with? Or will she lose her mind learning to cope with the craziest adventurers she's ever met?

Alongside the cast, the narrator is the most important part of any story and is also the glue that holds everything together. No matter the gender, the narrator would prefer that they have a warm yet fun and immersive voice that really makes the audience feel like they’re part of the action, as well as understanding the gravity of what scenes are taking place to draw them in.

The day began like any other for Pomni: wake up with the dawn, set up in the town square by the fountain, set her hat upside down on the cobblestone, and begin strumming her lute. The music she routinely played on quiet mornings was gentle, like the songbirds whistling in the rooftops. By noon, she was full on singing and dancing around the fountain. Crowds did not show all the time, but gold, silver and copper coins came nonetheless. It was a simple living, for the bard. She would stay in a town for a few days, sing and tell stories while collecting some from townsfolk, and then move onto the next destination. This had been the way she had done work for years now. Yet, as the cheers of the crowd that had gathered filled her ears, coins filled her empty hat, and she bowed as low as she could, legs crossed, Pomni wondered if she was truly happy. Satisfied, sure; she never went hungry, and always had company in one shape or form. She made people smile, and she did what she loved: music. It was more than enough for any one person. Happiness, though, was harder for her to decide whether she had or not. While she did have company in towns, her travels were done alone most of the time. She made acquaintances, but they were only faces she knew she could return to on her travels. She wrote music and sang songs, telling stories of the memories of people she met, but she never told anyone her own stories.
Pomni’s pocket sized traveling companion and part time shoulder devil. Not much is known about him except that he is a self proclaimed “artificial entity” who has the power to eradicate the dreaded Abstraction Virus, and he specifically needs the infamous Traveling Circus in order to do so, much to Pomni’s confusion.
He is deeply enraptured with the little bard because of her kind heart, compassionate spirit, and the way she sees the world and wants to believe humans are capable of the same traits, just needs more proof.

Greetings, my little Hamlets and Et Tu Brutés, and welcome to The Amazing Traveling Circus!! Join myself and my bard friend Pomni as we journey across the world to find a cure for the deadly Abstraction Virus! Do you love adventure? Horror? Fantasy? Action? Suspense? Comedy? Tragedy? Well, look no further than our little caravan you see right before you. Now let’s not waste any time! Let’s get right on with the show!
Jax is a mystery all of his own. He is the brash, sarcastic, aloof, wisecracking “funny guy” of the Traveling Circus. If it wasn’t for his keen sense of hearing and sharp archery skills, many of the circus members would be dead by now, which the Harengon proudly and adamantly reminds everyone on a very regular basis, much to their annoyance. He also has a dark past and possibly a connection to the Abstracted, but don’t you dare ask him about that (yet).
TLDR: He is a badass who needs his ass kicked at some point.

You guys do realize that she’s asking us to go on a suicide mission, right? Abstractions are no joke. They can be harmed, but they can’t be killed. If there really is a cure, it’s not going to be easy to get. So unless we’re getting paid, you can shove it up your pint sized ass.
Chaos follows us everywhere we go, sweetheart. You just simply egged it on.
The Circus’s benevolent cleric and strategist leader. Everyone’s safety and health are her top priority and wants to make sure everyone is at their best. Because of her past, she masks herself with a strong sense of overprotectiveness, much to the appreciation of Kinger, Gangle and Zooble, and the annoyance of Jax. She is definitely a people pleaser and constantly shifts tactics on a shilling, makes the group doubt the validity of her character.

Hello. We don’t normally get people coming to visit us when we stop in town. My name’s Ragatha. I’m the cleric of the Traveling Circus. It’s nice to meet you, Pomni and Caine.
a powerful, yet unpredictable wizard who can go from crazy old man with an obsession with insects, especially butterflies, to a gentle, fatherly sage of wisdom who makes everyone, especially Pomni, feel safe, depending on the lighting. No, seriously. Iykyk.

You can never go wrong with fireflies. Not only they are an effective light source, but they can also be used as currency and can be a tasty snack. For Gloinks. Not for humans. That would be silly.
You’re very brave, Pomni, for stepping into a world you know nothing of, just to help make things safer for everyone else. Cherish the people around you. You never know when they’ll be gone.
While they come off as pragmatic, Zooble is a rogue who’s is fiercely loyal to those they let into their inner circle, which is pretty few and far between. They get annoyed pretty easily, especially by Jax and Caine (who they call a flea or a mosquito because of his “incessant babbling”), and they have an extreme dislike for those who treat those Infected by the Abstracted Virus like dirt.

This has to be a joke, right? You’re asking us to take on a job not just because it’s extremely dangerous, it’s because you think we’d be stupid enough to take it?
You can perfect a performance, but there will always be factors you’ll never see coming. That’s just how the world works, Pomni.Ragatha can heal amazingly, but she can’t fire a gun. Gangle is amazing at iron weapons, but can’t figure out a bow. Jax is an ace at archery, but he sucks at throwing axes. Kinger’s….well, that’s besides the point.You may be inexperienced, but you have the right spirit to be an adventurer.
Jax tests my patience three quarters of the day. The rest of the time, he just… does his job. He’s a little shit, but he’s good at keeping us safe.
Sweet, timid, intelligent and creative, Gangle is a skilled artificer who loves to fix things and make new inventions that can benefit the group. She deeply cares about her friends, especially her best friend Zooble, and would do anything for them. She was of the first to welcome Pomni into the group and finds Caine interesting, but weird at the same time. She also loves her Tommy Gun, which is her prized possession.

Always ready for action, Gummigoo is an adventurous gummy crocodile who along with his mates, Chad and Max, hunt the Abstractions and explore the mysterious Zones of Wandering that the Abstractions inhabit. He is Pomni’s lifelong best friend and had always hoped she would find her own adventure, just never expected said adventure would lead her right into Abstraction territory or any dangerous territory for that matter. Gummigoo is adventurous, kind, supportive, very brave, deeply cares for his friends, and can be a bit stern, but he has a heart of gold. And that’s not because he’s a green and yellow crocodile made of gelatin.

There’s something I’ve been meanin’ to ask you. Do you really plan on asking the Traveling Circus’ help for……whatever Caine’s got plannin’?
I trust Caine as far as I can throw ‘im. The Circus are a bunch of misfits. No one even knows what they specialize in, aside from their ranger has damn good aim. I’ve never seen them around when missions are handed out to help track Abstractions and their Zones of Wandering. If you’re set on doin’ this… I just want to know you’re takin’ every precaution you can, Pom. You have always cared about me and looked out for me. Now it’s my turn to do the same for you.
Once the terror of the Candy Kingdom, the Fudge is a huge gelatinous mass of chocolate with gobstopper eyes and sharpened candy corn teeth. He loves loves LOVES candy. Whether it’s eating candy (specifically candy people), hoarding candy, stealing candy, dreaming about candy. If it involves candy, it’s up his alley. He also has a tendency to confuse people for candy as well so pretty much everything is candy in his point of view. He’s just a big ol scrumdiddlyumptious dum dum straight out of a certain chocolatier’s nightmares, if you know you know.
