TAILS OF A DOG’S LIFE is an online web series, centering on humans and anthropomorphic animals working together in various medical settings. As we continue to grow and develop our sweiwa, we are seeking to cast voice actors to assist us in producing short (30 seconds to one minute) videos to introduce each of our characters. Each video will feature a brief monologue done on the style of the charaxter’s voice.
We are just about ONE WEEK AWAY from this project page officially closing on Casting Call Club. That said, if you are interested in auditioning, please send in your aubmiasion(s) ASAP! We are actively casting roles as we speak, and only about half of them remain open. Callbacks for certain roles have also begun, so the sooner you submit your audition, the higher your chances are of being cast in a role.
All roles will be cast by NEXT SUNDAY (May 31).

We are just about halfway through the casting process! However… there are several roles where multiple actors have sent in great auditions… and I’m having a hard time choosing between them.
That said, I will be starting a sort of “callback” process over the coming days, as a means to try and narrow down these roles. The callback is simple: I will give you a line to read in the voice of the character you chose, and all you have to do is record yourself speaking this line in character. Actors will be given the SAME LINE for characters selected for callback auditions. You can either upload your new recording to CCC, send them to me via Discord (@evilsinger24), or send them another way. Once all actors submit callbacks for each character, I will use those new recordings to decide who will be cast in the role.

Hi everyone! Thanks again for your patience on this.
I’m happy to report that I’ve officially started casting for select roles. However, we are still in need of more auditions, specifically for our female-identifying characters (Sera and Vickie). As a reminder, you are more than welcome to audition for multiple roles in this project, so if you’ve already sent in a submission but want to apply your skills to another character, go ahead and give it a try!
Our casting call will remain open until the end of the month, but select roles may be cast beforehand. The project likely won’t start until June, so you’ll have plenty of time before any recordings need to be made.
Once you are cast in a role,I’ll send you more details and instructions on what to expect.

First of all, a HUGE thank you to all of you who have submitted an audition thus far! The initial amount of submissions we got within the first few days was insane!
It’s been a few days since we got our last audition, and some role have only received one submission thus far, so I will most likely be starting to cast those roles by the end of this wee. If you haven’t already, please consider auditioning for additional roles you may be interested in—we’ll happily accept more than one submission per person, and there may be a chance that you’ll be cast to play multiple characters.
As of this writing, we have yet to receive auditions for EPLER or SERA: if you think your voice would be a good fit for these characters, take a look at their descriptions and send us a clip!
Once we have cast you for a role, you will receive more information on when an initial script Amy be sent to you. Keep in mind, each of these scripts will be extremely short, no longer than about 30 seconds to a minute in length.

Male, 30s-40s, Australian. Archie is an easy going, laid back crocodile originally from Australia. He speaks with a light to medium accent and uses several Australian-style mannerisms. He often times presents as a sort of “nwrdy” or “geeky” character, likely due to his love of video games.

Male, late 30s to 40s. Barry, or “Dr. Burble” as everyone calls him, is the most cheerful polar bear you’ll meet. Working as a pediatric surgeon, Barry is great with kids, and isn’t afraid to get a little goofy at times to put them at ease. He also loves to bake, and is often snacking on a fresh baked muffin, before sharing them with others. His pwesonality is warm, calming, and sometimes bubbly, and he always has a smile on his face.

Male, 30s. Butch is a large St. Bernard with a gruff but soft demeanor. He sometimes presents with a “tough guy” type of attitude but still remains friendly.

Male, 20s to early 30s. Charlie is the walking epitome of “I didn’t think I’d be here, but here I am.” Though he never thought he’d be a doctor, he’s taken to his new role rather quickly,though the job tends to stress him out quite often. Charlie is also loyal, persisten, and kind-hearted. His adventurous and free-spirited nature makes him stand out amongst others and he’s not afraid to step up to a challenge… most of the time.

Male, 7-10 years. One of the youngest characters in the series, Cooper can sometimes be a little shy, but his biggest trait is his curiosity. His passion for learning about the world around him makes Coopwr act much older than he looks, although he does tend to get caught in the middle more often than he’d like.

Male, mid-30s. Although he tends to be a little more quiet and introverted, Dakota is a hard worker who doesn’t stray far from his pack. Originally hailing from northern Canada, he moved to the US to pursue a career in dentistry, focusing on orthodontics. Dakota is often mariculture and thorough in his work, but rather than socializing, he prefers to keep to himself, using his spare time for reading or other quiet activities.

Male, late 30s-early 40s. Dave is just your average general physician, with occasional rotations in emergency medicine and surgery. He often remains calm during stressful situations, and uses his rationality and problem-solving skills to his advantage. Dave brings years of medical experience to any team he works with, and is a well-respected member of the hospital community.

Male, early-to-mid 20s. Jake is one serious cat… with an attitude to match. He originally gets a job at the dental clinic because he “wanted to learn how to deal with humans,” after some bad experiences from his past (which he never talks about). He tries his best to keep his twmpwr in check… but can still have occasional outbursts of anger or frustration. Despite his mood swings, he tends to do a decent job with his work, but sometimes he puts in the minimal amount of effort just to get things done.

Male, early 20s. Kenny is a very shy, but very friendly shark. He tends to stay pretty quiet overall, making him slightly awkward in social situations. However, Kenny excels at being a dental assistant, and has a great rapport with patients, usually keeping them calm during procedures. Kenny also tends to get frightened pretty easily, and he isn’t a big fan of high-stress scenarios… but he sticks by his friends and his team whenever they get in trouble.

Male, early-to-mid 30s. Kepler is a sleek but strong blue mako shark, and is the older brother of Kenny. Unlike his brother, though, Kepler hasn’t been away from the ocean very long, so he’s still getting used to how things are above water. His personality is calm, understanding and supportive, as he often sticks up for his brother when necessary. Kepler also follows in his brother’s “footsteps” in dentistry, choosing to become a dentist after finding out that Kenny is a dental assistant. Since then, the two have grown closer to one another, and now Kepler looks up to his younger brother due to his experience in the field.

Male, early-to-mid 50s. Kevin is… an interesting person. Despite what he thinks, Kevin is… not smart. He tends to act impulsively, irrationally, and sometimes even recklessly. He (somehow) got his son, Anthony, to get him a job at the hospital, where he works as a doctor despite having zero experience or medical knowledge. However, despite all of his shortcomings, Kevin is an extremely friendly person who does care deeply for his friends and family.

Male, mid-teens. Koda is a curious cub, and the son of Teddy. He develops a curiosity for dentistry after visiting his dad at work, and often takes time away from school to learn more about it and help out at the dental clinic, hoping to one day follow in his father’s footsteps.Koda is also good friends with Cooper, but their shared curiosity can sometimes get them in trouble.

Male, early 40s. Dr. Johnson comes from a military background, having served time in the Army before being injured in combat. He then chose to pursue medicine, specializing in cardiology and trauma surgery. Max brings an authoritative leadership style into the OR, with his commanding and no-nonsense work ethic carrying over to the rest of his team. Despite his gruffness, he is compassionate about patient care and always does his best to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Male, early-to-mid 20s. This dapper little penguin is one of the friendliest and most energetic chaps you’ll meet. He speaks with a distinctly British accent, and is never seen without his bow tie, even when wearing scrubs. However, Percy can often find himself trying to be “too helpful…” usually getting himself caught up in a bit of a mess, or unintentionally making a calm situation a bit more chaotic. Despite his short comings and small size, Percy still wears a smile on his face, and can brighten up the room with his cheerful disposition.

Female, late 20s to early 30s. A leopard of Asian descent, Seraphina (or just Sera for short) is a recent dental school graduate specializing in pediatric dentistry. However, despite being one of the best in her class, Sera has struggled to find work, but gets a break when she runs into Anthony at a local bar. Anthony immediately sees the protntial in her and hires her on the spot, beinging her on to work with the humane and animal child patients of All Species. Sera often puts her young patients at ease, using her calming disposition to her advantage during procedures.

Male, mid-30s. Often going by “Shelly,” Dr. Young is an anesthesiologist who specializes in working with older kids and adult patients. He tends to be rather quiet, but friendly, and his slightly slower movement style makes him very detail-oriented, which also makes him gentle with patients.

Male, late 40s to 50s. Teddy is the “gentle giant” of the dental office. He originally had a career and life in the wilderness, but elected to move to the city and pursue a career in dentistry to “try something new,” even despite his old age. But, with his older age comes a more wise and gentle personality. Teddy is great with anxious patients, and is extremely careful and precise in his work.

Female, late 20s to early 30s. Victoria, or Vickie, is a surgical resident specializing in veterinary procedures. Why veterinary medicine? Because she has some “trust issues” with humans, and naturally prefers to work with other animals instead. She will still work with some human doctors and patients, but it’s not often, and she does her best to remain professional with them. She has a determined but curt personality, and can often be seen working alone when not in the OR.
