TAILS OF A DOG’S LIFE - Character Shorts
Forrest DePoy for Maxwell Johnson
Male, early 40s. Dr. Johnson comes from a military background, having served time in the Army before being injured in combat. He then chose to pursue medicine, specializing in cardiology and trauma surgery. Max brings an authoritative leadership style into the OR, with his commanding and no-nonsense work ethic carrying over to the rest of his team. Despite his gruffness, he is compassionate about patient care and always does his best to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Hello!
Thank you for auditioning to be a part of the TOADL Character Shorts project!
You have been selected to move forward in the casting process, and will take part in a brief “callback” period. During this process, you will be asked to record a pre-written line of dialogue for this character, which will be compared to other actors, in order to determine which line delivery better matches the style we are looking for. Actors will then be notified of our decisions in a follow-up message once all callbacks have been submitted.
You have three options to submit your callback:
Submit your new recoding in a message here on Casting Call Club
Send your recoding in a direct message on Discord to @evilsinger24
Upload your recording to our Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1b8zp-52n_pxBBZJJZkIKSKeh1XksXnay
*If using Discord or Google Drive, please label your audio file with your name and the name of the character you are auditioning for.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the callback process.
Thank you again for your interest!
CALLBACK LINE (MAXWELL JOHNSON):
“Now, you listen to me, and listen good. This patient is in dire need of a bypass, and we need to take him to the operating room immediately. If he doesn’t get surgery in the next hour, this man is not going to make it… and that’s going to be your fault. You are preventing care on a critical case, and I’ll be damned if I were to let that happen. I’ve seen too many good soldiers go during my time in the Army… all because “physicians” like you don’t give them the care they rightfully deserve. Now… are you going to help me… or are we just gonna stand here arguing until that man flatlines right there on the table?”
Sounds great! I'll have some time this weekend I can submit takes for both of these roles. Will keep you posted when I do. Thank you for your consideration! 😁
