Superman: Man of Tomorrow

Superman: Man of Tomorrow

Project Overview

REMINDER: You can certainly get 2 (You can audition however much you like) roles but that's a slight chance. It is recommended that you research a little bit about the characters (You don't have to but it would be nice.)

(Note: This is powered by ROBLOX Studio, we may change it to 3D animation if we want too.)

First off this is heavily inspired by Superman and Lois (The series), Superman Secret Origin (Comics) and All-Star Superman (Comic)and more! Including original ideas from us.

We want to tell a a great and hopeful story, a story worth telling. We want to entertain you guys, and not only that but we want you guys to enjoy as we progress.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow will be focused on Clark's journey being who he is, the boy scout, SUPERMAN.

There are more roles (But they are yet to be announced and will be a separate private casting)

I want Clark to feel alive, hopeful, energetic, uplifting, polite, optimistic, I want him to talk with a sense of direction, has the ability to console someone when needed,  he has humanity (showing that he's willing to make a young man's day that nobody should be forgotten about), He's charming, and a man who sees good in everyone, I want him to be the heart of my possible "DC Universe."

I want you to embody the spirit of the Character.

I do want him to sound "Geek-Ish" and clumsy a bit (He is not putting on an act, whether that's how the kind of man he is, but when he is Superman, he feels... more "charming"? as that was how he was raised)
Inspiration: Superman Secret Origin Comic, All-Star Superman Comic, and Superman and Lois (The series)

  • (As Clark, thanking someone) "Wow! Thank you. that'd be swell!"

  • (As Superman, hopeful) "I want you to stop looking for a Great Savior. Lex Luthor isn't it. I'm not it. You are. All of you are. I do what I do because I was given a gift, but all of you were given gifts, too."

Lois Lane is an investigative, Pulitzer Prize winning reporter at the Daily Planet in Metropolis, and Superman's love interest. Her closest co-workers are Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Steve Lombard. She is a strong and assertive woman more than capable of handling herself in dangerous situations. She has that type of inquisitive mind to just go where she shouldn't if it's a good story. She is also a fierce-strong woman, and at times she could be vulnerable.

  • (Act as if you're figuring something out about Clark) "Tell me the truth Clark, this is all an act, isn't it? I mean, the bad slouching. And those glasses completely overtake your face. Your prescription distorts your eyes, tell the story."

  • (Defending Superman as she yells at her father) "I don't know what's happening out there. But I do know Superman would never attack the U.S. army! He'd never attack anyone --Unless they attacked first!"

  • (Being vulnerable to Clark) "Tell me something Smallville, do you ever feel... lonely? Or misplaced in this world?"

Jimmy is more of the "new kid on the block" working for the Daily Planet. He is new there, not as new as Clark, but he's trying to earn his place there. Following Lois Lane around, struggling to keep up with her pace.

He's agreeable, likable, a bit of a pushover and intentionally should be forgotten about by larger personalities of the Daily Planet in which Clark sees Jimmy being overlooked.

  • (Introducing himself, a bit awkardly) "U-Uh... Hi, my name is Jimmy Olsen."

  • (Feeling down) "I don't fit in and now I'm going back to Yonkers with my tail between my legs and my parents are going to say, 'I told you so.' Like they always do."

  • "I think you're just fine. Like Superman told me, it's okay to be different and to standout!"

Perry White is in his mid 50s, I want him to sound like the type of guy who smokes a cigar and yells at you for not having things ready by the deadline. He is a bit strict; I want him to have his moments where he feels for others (in which of course he does in general but there wont be a lot of it.)

  • (Introduction to the Daily Planet) "Everyone in here... we're the most dependable friends the people of Metropolis have. Remember that."

  • (Yelling at Clark) "Kent! What do you think you're doing? Get back to work!"

  • (Talking to Clark) "I understand what you're going through. This stuff... it isn't easy that's for sure."

Jonathan Kent, known affectionately as Pa Kent, was a farmer from Smallville, Kansas. After finding the alien baby Kal-El, he and his wife Martha raised him to become Superman.

Jonathan Kent, has manners, he respects everyone, he cares, and he is the ROLE MODEL for Clark.

  • "Clark.. these aren't a curse. No, they are a gift"

  • "You have to learn that sacrifices comes at a choice, a choice in which you got to make."

  • (Feeling for Clark) "You are my son. Of course I love you!"

Martha Kent is the wife of Jonathan Kent and adoptive mother of Superman, also known as Clark Kent. Since they were unable to conceive a child of their own, when they found him as a baby inside of a strange rocket crashed to Earth they raised him as their son. Much later they learned he was the last surviving member of an alien race; when the planet Krypton was exploding, the boy's parents Jor-El and Lara chose to save him at the cost of their lives by sending him into space. Ma and Pa Kent raised Clark on their farm in Smallville, Kansas.

Martha is loving, caring, and kind. She is like Aunt May from the Spider-Man comics, but a bit different.

Since they lived in the farms and in Smallville you can try for an American accent and a western (probably research what type of accent she has at certain times, doesn't matter, I do prefer an American accent)

Voice description:

  • "Hey there my little man! I made you breakfast."

  • (Martha to young Clark) "Before you arrived, we wanted a child so badly. The day you found us in that field, you were the miracle we prayed for. Now the world needs that same miracle."

Jor-El is a Kryptonian scientist, prior to Krypton's destruction. He was a member of the Kryptonian Council, and at one time, was its head. Although he was greatly respected amongst his colleagues, they ridiculed him when he predicted the destruction of the planet through his experiments. So, Jor-El is also the father of Kal-El, the boy who is Superman on Earth and uncle of Kara Zor-El who becomes Supergirl on Earth. Prior to Krypton's destruction, he launched Kal-El, as a baby, on an experimental spacecraft toward Earth, a planet he has previously visited.

Voice description:

  • "Hello Kal-El. I am Jor-El... I am your father."

  • (Looking at Clark all grown up, his voice a bit broken due to seeing him as an adult and not as a baby) "Look at you. You're all grown up..."

  • Improvise if you want.

Lara Lor-Van

Lara Lor-Van is Superman's mother, from the planet Krypton. Lara Lor-Van was Lara's full maiden name, as "Lor-Van" is the name of Lara's father. Most depictions of Kryptonian culture show that females use their father's full name as their last names before marriage, and then are known simply by their first names after marriage.

She was married to Jor-El, a prominent scientist on the Kryptonian council before the planet's destruction. In the pre-crisis comics, she was an astronaut, while other stories (including The Last Days of Krypton) depict her as an artist.

Voice description:

  • (Saddened but happy) " His name is Kal, son of El. And he is forever beyond your reach. "

  • (Scared for baby Kal-El, Clark.) "He will be an outcast! T-They'll kill him."

  • Improvise if you want.

Role assigned to: Doctor_Throwback

LEX LUTHOR

An egomaniacal genius and billionaire industrialist, Lex Luthor fights a neverending personal, public, and political battle against Superman.

He’s the most intelligent man on Earth. But Lex Luthor has only ever used his brilliant mind for selfish gain and to further his own bitter vendetta against those he feels have done him wrong. A notorious sociopath and xenophobe in almost every one of his incarnations—be it scientist, businessman or even the President of the United States—Luthor always uses his power and influence not to help mankind, but to attempt to destroy the one man on the planet who makes him feel insignificant: Superman.

Although he has no superpowers to speak of, Luthor has come closer to defeating the Man of Steel more times than any of his other adversaries. With his brilliant mind, Luthor’s schemes nearly always come close to vanquishing Superman, until his massive ego gets in his way. No matter the situation, it’s Luthor’s hubris that’s always his downfall.

Too much of the world, Lex Luthor seems respectable, self-made man—the pinnacle of human achievement, due to his massive wealth and standing in the worlds of business and politics. But in reality, he is deceiving, rude, noncaring, evil and a manipulator.

  • "Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe."

  • "Don't you get it?! I am the villain of the story."

  • "We know better now that devils don't come from the hell beneath us, they come from the sky."

Soldier-turned-supervillain John Corben is Metallo, a Kryptonite powered cyborg who is an enemy of Superman.

He's rude, thinks being a soldier is everything he needs, and he's an a**hole

He works for Lois Lane's dad and is well liked by her dad. Her dad wants Lois to marry Corben but Lois doesn't want that at all.

  • "A reporter can't change the world, Lois. You should stop wasting your life on that on start one with me."

Steve Lombard is a sports columnist working at the Daily Planet, where he is also a member of Superman's supporting cast. His closest co-workers are Clark Kent, Perry White, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Cat Grant and Ron Troupe. Before working as a reporter he had a lengthy career in both amateur and professional football. He's well known as a boorish jerk with a very self-centered attitude, although this is often played for comedy.

His many pranks around the office frequently target Kent, although he considers Clark one of his closest friends. Troupe frequently clashes with him most directly on a personal level, leading towards an antagonistic relationship. In addition, his alpha-male mindset causes him to make many unwelcome advances against his female co-workers.

  • Don't be a soggy sport, Clarkie! Just be glad I sneaked you aboard so you could get some candid shots of me waving to my adoring public!

  • (Teasing a bit) "From what I hear there is no Daily Planet without the great Lois Lane."

(Note: This is just a description from the comics) Catherine Grant is a well-known gossip columnist for the Daily Planet and one of Superman's romantic interests. She works at the Planet as a reporter alongside Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Steve Lombard and Ron Troupe. Although she works in Metropolis, she began her career in Los Angeles. Grant is very notable for her controversially sexy and flirty style in the workplace, which has gained her a great deal of infamy and control over weaker willed men. She even dated Kent briefly, although they broke up because he had really been in love with Lois the entire time.

  • "Maybe we can fall for each other again someday. Gotta rush, handsome."

  • (A bit annoyed) "You're from another planet, Kent."
