Superman For All Seasons (1998) Fandub

Project Overview

Hey everyone! I’m putting together a voice-acted dub of Superman: For All Seasons, the classic four-part comic series written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Tim Sale. This project is meant to capture the warmth, humanity, and timelessness of the story, and bring it to life in a cinematic audio format.

The goal is to create something that feels professional, polished, and respectful of the source material. Each issue will be adapted into a full-length episode, complete with voice acting, sound design, and original scoring. I’ll be handling editing, direction, and production.

Why This Project Matters:
Superman: For All Seasons isn’t just another superhero story—it’s a heartfelt exploration of Clark Kent’s journey from boyhood in Smallville to becoming the symbol of hope in Metropolis. It’s about heart, legacy, and the relationships that shape him. If you love Superman, if you love character-driven storytelling, or if you just want to be part of something genuinely meaningful, this is the project for you.

About Me:
I run Shrimp Fried Studios, where I specialize in creating superhero-inspired content with a focus on sincerity and storytelling. My work has already reached a growing audience across social media:

I’ve built a strong and engaged audience by producing high-quality superhero content, and I plan to give this project the same level of care and visibility. That means the voices behind these characters will get real exposure and recognition once the project launches.

Casting Goals:
I’m looking for actors who can capture the emotional depth of these characters—whether it’s the earnestness of Clark Kent, the sharp wit of Lois Lane, or the quiet strength of Jonathan and Martha Kent. Authenticity and heart matter more than a “perfect” imitation.

Format:

  • 4 episodes (adapting the 4 issues of the comic)

  • Posted to YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok with proper credit to all actors

  • Long-form dubs for YouTube, with shorter clips for socials

What You’ll Get:

  • Full credit wherever the project is posted

  • Wide audience exposure across multiple platforms

  • A chance to be part of one of Superman’s most beloved stories in a faithful, respectful adaptation

This particular Lex will require somebody with a lower register. This particular version of Lex Luthor is very Old Money. He's not going to get in a robot power suit to fight Superman, but he will find out the name of every single person who talks to Superman and buy their apartment just to kick them out of it. Think of Clancy Brown in Superman: The Animated Series. You don't have to do a perfect impression. But, you *do* have to sell me that this is a 65 year old billionaire.

  • Lois, good to see you. As well as your other esteemed colleagues in the media. I think when this is all straightened out, we’ll find it to be nothing more than just a misunderstanding -- and I, like the people of this city, will put this little episode behind me.

  • I’d invite you in for a drink-- --but I imagine that someone like you doesn’t imbibe. Pity. A good stiff drink might do you some good. Long before you appeared on the scene, I was here. I built up Metropolis from an ordinary “town” into the most powerful city in the world. Enjoy the public’s little infatuation with their new mascot while you can. Fame is fleeting… …but Lex Luthor is forever.

  • My medical staff will handle it from here, Superman. Poor thing. Overexposure to the very virus she cured. She will be missed. A true hero. They say you can change the course of mighty rivers. But, you have so little understanding of how fragile the human condition is. How easily a life, all life, can be lost. Being the most powerful man in the world means nothing if you are all alone. No one knows that better than I. Go back to wherever you came from before you fail us all.

I'm looking for something along the lines of how she sounded in Superman: The Animated Series. Very straightforward. This is just a fairly straightforward interpretation of Lois in general. If you've seen the James Gunn movie, you'll get the gist.

  • Perry once told me, “Lois, a reporter lives by three rules. “Believe none of what you hear. “Half of what you see. “And everything you write.” I’m a reporter. Or a “newspaperman” as Perry would put it. A damn good one by anyone’s standards and mine are pretty high. I like Perry’s rules. They make sense to me. Strike that. They made sense to me. Because now those rules fall under the same category. It’s all “B.S.” “Before Superman.”

  • One night, Jimmy and I were working the graveyard shift, getting out the last edition; “The Bulldog” as Perry would put it. We were bored and tired and we tried to figure out how much Luthor makes. Our best guess? One hundred and fifty dollars a second. In other words, if Lex Luthor found a hundred dollar bill lying on the street… …it wouldn’t be worth his time to pick it up.

  • There isn’t a day when I don’t think about Perry’s three rules. And even though a “Superman” flies in the face of them--literally-- -- as long as I believe everything I write, I’ll sign my name to it: “By Lois Lane.”

All I ask is you sound as sincere as possible. This role specifically WILL require an older sounding man. Just sound naturally older and do it sincere and we'll run from there

  • Folks tend to call him "The Man of Steel" nowadays. I guess that he's the most famous person in the world... Not that he was ever interested in being famous in the first place. "Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound." "Change the course of mighty rivers." "Faster than a speeding bullet." We knew he was special, but... People will talk. Believe it or not, there was a time before all that. When he was just... a man's son.

  • ...But, that's Martha for you. Stubborn as a mule. Twice as set in her ways. Wonder woman. Marry her all over again tomorrow if that's what she wanted. But the boy's got a lot of Martha in him and let's leave it at that.

  • Clark had known Lana Lang all his life. Her Aunt Ruth, difficult as it was, raised her right. Martha always said Lana had set her cap on being with Clark, but I never saw it. Pete Ross, on the other hand, was the sort of kid that went down like castor oil. A little went a long way.

I'll be honest here. I would consider myself something of a Superman savant, but Lana Lang is a blindspot. Give her a standard personality. It's really dependent upon you, the actress here. She's Clark's childhood best friend and his love interest in this book. Best advise? Try and aim for Kristen Bell as Anna. Kind of.

  • Why do you always rub that lamp? You wouldn't know what to do will a million dollars, Pete, if it fell on you.

  • ...Nope. It's just I don't know a lot of grown men who still wear their high school letterman's jacket.

  • The next morning, I saw it for the first time up close. Even under the coat, that big red "S" stood out. Even though I had known Clark for years, I still found myself almost in awe of it.

There's some characters who get like 4 lines total. Just make up folly and if you don't get cast in a main role, you'll get cast for one of the more minor roles

  • Do an old man voice and ramble like an old man about cards.

  • Sound like a troublemaking youngster.

  • Give me your best and most distinct voice
