Project Overview

I'm making a short (30-ish seconds long) original 3D animation of Geno and Mallow from Super Mario RPG fighting standard enemies in Booster Tower and felt voice over would enhance the project by allowing for a bit of dialogue!

I cannot offer compensation, but I will credit and link to the desired socials of the voice actors, and voice actors can use the finished work in their voice reel/portfolio.

This animation consists of a brief dynamic action scene in which Geno and Mallow are facing off against a Rob-omb and a Chain Chomp. Geno swiftly dispatches the Rob-omb and encourages Mallow to take on the Chain Chomp, but it doesn't go as expected. Each character has 3-4 very short lines total (Geno has 13 words, Mallow has 5).

Once auditions close, I will make casting decisions and reach out to those selected with the specific script dialogue, and once the project is finished I will link the voice actors to the finished animation on YouTube.

  • The results are in!

    Hello everyone! I’ve just made my casting decisions, so for those who were chosen, I’ll reach out to you about the specific dialogue needs for the animation. To those who weren’t chosen, I really appreciate everyone’s submissions, the effort and care put into each and every audition was very clear! Ultimately, there were many auditions that were extremely similar for both roles, so I made my decision based on more minute factors such as audio quality due to the audio mixing I will eventually undertake in order to properly blend the voice over with the music and sound effects I’ll be implementing.

    I thoroughly enjoyed listening to everyone’s unique interpretations of Geno and Mallow! I also thank everyone for their patience, as this was my first project on Casting Call. I have been learning a lot, and when I plan future projects that need voice acting, I’ll definitely post them here and even consider reaching out to those who have auditioned on this one if I feel they could fit! If there's anything I can do to improve hosting a project like this, please feel free to let me know!

  • The deadline approaches!

    Hello everyone!

    In just over a day from now (10-30-24) on November 1st is the deadline for auditions, and I'll make casting decisions and reach out to people sometime that afternoon! It's been a blast listening to everyone's auditions so far and I really appreciate everyone taking the time to show interest! :)

Geno is a star warrior- righteous, kind, and sometimes even clumsy- serving his higher authority to maintain a peaceful Mushroom Kingdom. He often acts optimistic, albeit at times stoic or even wistful as you embark on a quest to restore the broken Star Road, the granter of everyone's wishes. However, Geno is also strong-willed and, on rare occasions, even hotheaded when confronted with those who try to harm innocents. When accompanying Mario and the other heroes on their quest, Geno acts as a patient guide and steadfast ally.

Mallow is a young, puffy guy who thinks he's a frog after being raised by his "Grandpa," the Frog Sage, but is secretly a powerful magic user and heir to the cloudy Nimbus kingdom throne. A very sheltered boy, Mallow is often considered a crybaby and shies away from monsters frequently. But when push comes to shove, this mage's temper is not to be messed with, and he will always stand up for his friends. He also comes off as inexperienced despite his abilities, and can startle easily.
