Sue and Freddie Mystery Series - Case 1, "Viral File"

DEADLINE - JANUARY 8th, 2025

Sue and Freddie the Dynamic Mystery Duo is an ongoing animated mystery series since 2020. It is loosely based on the Nancy Drew mystery book series. The stories follow an amateur sleuth named Sue Hamperson, who solves mysteries with her boyfriend Freddie Chunk, and her pet rabbit Rosa. Other characters include John Jones, driver and operator of Sue and Freddie's mode of transportation, The John's Orient Express, and Sue's parents, Norm and Annie.

The following cast members include:

  • Felix Cheng - Character Creator and Head Storywriter (Freddie Chunk - main role, Turkey Vendor, Paperboy, Billy)

  • Josie Hernandez (Sue Hamperson - main role, Billy's Mom)

  • Justin Thao - StaxVA (Norm Hamperson, John's Orient Express staff, various supporting roles)

Editor: Tiffany Cheng (sister of creator)

This project will only cover the first story, "Viral File". The other two stories include the second story, "Bunny Invasion on Tokyo" and the third story, "Zodiac Signs of Chichen-Itza". The second story has already been recorded by both Josie and Justin while the third story is currently being drafted. As shown in the video, the remaining roles for the first story include:

  • Radford Roquefort (Must have an imitation of Peter Lorre)

  • Pravda Ayase (Must have a Russian accent)

  • Bird Brain (Must have a parrot-like voice)

  • Annie Hamperson - Sue's Mom (Role can also be reprised for the second and third stories mentioned above)

    Happy New Year, Everyone!

    I want to take the time to thank you all for auditioning for the remaining four characters in the first story about Sue and Freddie the Dynamic Mystery Duo.

    As Sue and Freddie 3 is currently being drafted at the moment, there will be a short video uploaded on YouTube showcasing how Yukiko, Shuntarou, and Kasumi should sound in terms of moods and personalities. I hope to hear from Lanna Rose to reprise her future roles for Sue's Mother when she will later be Sue's phone contact in Sue and Freddie 3. After all that, the auditions for Sue and Freddie 2 will be open soon enough.

    After the voices are finalized, then SFX and music will follow suite while Blender's animation will be back in production on Sue and Freddie once more. Again, I want to thank you all for your help.

Radford Roquefort is the main antagonist of Sue and Freddie's first story, "Viral File".  He is a creepy blue rat who wears a white lab coat, a dark cloak, and an eyepatch.  He runs an illegitimate cheese-themed restaurant in Chattawaukee called "Roquefort's Cheese Cafe" alongside Pravda Ayase and Bird Brain.


Please watch the video before auditioning.  His voice should have a Peter Lorre imitation.  The third audition line requires shouting.

Pravda Ayase is Radford Roquefort's second-in-command and the token human working under him at Roquefort's Cheese Cafe. She speaks in a thick Russian accent.  She is otherwise known as the mistress of disguises because she is beautiful yet dangerous and deadly!


Note: Krolik means "rabbit" in Russian.

Bird Brain is Radford Roquefort's evaluator.  Although Roquefort gets annoyed whenever he copies his plans, Bird Brain is valued for his intelligence and sensibility, which keeps Roquefort in check from gloating his evil plan out in the open.  He also serves as the host of Roquefort's Cheese Cafe.

Annie Hamperson is Sue's mother and wife of Norm.  She was absent for an unspecified amount of time during Sue's first case helping her dad with his computer, though she takes her to Qual-Mart Club whenever she goes shopping for groceries.
