Steel Snow (A Kare Kano Comic Dub)
Project Overview
Steel and Concrete...Steel Snow is a play within a manga that never makes an appearance anywhere else. Kare Kano is the name of this manga, and it is a slice of life while the play is a scifi. So I figured I would go ahead and make a full dub of this play I hold so dear to my heart. This is a quick project we will be putting together with around 10 to 12 3-minute episodes! The play takes place in a place far away from the Earth. Ren Crawford, a genius who has created many androids has been in cold sleep for the past 80 years. His newest android, Neo Model, wakes him up and therefore a flood of emotions come when Ren begins the explain to Neo Model why he left Earth. We can start moving once everyone is cast, to a fun project that could last a few months.

The character in the play is a woman, but the actual character being portrayed is a man, so either will work for Ren. A genius "alone" with his android in space. He can be all over the place at times, but also all together. He is goofy at times but also calm. I am pretty open about his voice, Medium Low to Medium High as a standard.
Ugh! It's the same thing everyday! And it doesn't taste good at all! I guess if I want something different, I'll have to make it myself. Stupid robot! Why do we humans have to work so hard? (annoyed)
Why do you only talk about school? Is it really so much better out there than at home with me? (panic. Not fast pace but more of a father worried about his daughter)
I used to think that if only I was smart, people would love me. (contemplating, thinking about his past)
The latest and greatest of Ren Crawfords androids. As an android should be, Neo Model is not the most emotional person in the world, but acts and looks incredibly human. She comes off with having some compassion when it comes to Ren. Her voice is flexible much like Rens Medium Low to Medium High. I am open to male voices too!
What kind of person is our creator? Why did he suddenly disappear when he was so rich and famous? And why is he living in such a desolate corner of space? (calm)
Why? Why doesn't the professor open his heart up to me like he does with Antique? I'm the one with the Highest Intelligence. I finally understand, being perfect will not make people love you. The more "perfect" you are...the more you become nothing more than a "machine" or a "piece of art" (becomes more and more distraught with the situation at hand)
But I can't just leave you like this. You still haven't answered my questions. ...And...You're becoming unstable. (Overall calm, with hints of worry)
The first ever android built by Ren Crawford. Being the first she can be quite a bit ditsy, and constantly on the fritz. Designed to look and sound like his daughter, Mei Crawford, who is a very happy and sickly girl who loves her dad more than anything. Mid-high to high.
I will make some food for you. Today, I'll prepare cafe aulait, honey toast, ham, eggs, and salad. (Antique) (automated, not robotic, but not filled with emotion)
If they want to say something, then just let them. And besides, you're not stupid at all. Even though I'm not your real daughter, you took me into your home. I don't think there's any other child happier than me. (Mei) (concerning, explaining with calmness)
No, I didn't mean it like that! I just wanted to share an interesting story with you. (Mei) (starting to lash out, not full on anger, but annoyed)
Mei's mother, and Rens first love. She is seen to be very manipulative, which is why she seems to be so caring, and cares only for money and power. She does have some endearing moments. She is High to Mid-low.
I'm competitive, so I have a hard time making friends with other girls. And the boys only try to flirt with me. So I'm always alone. We're the same. (starts to be a bit forlorn, but eventually starts to be sweet)
Just looking at your naive face makes me sick. I'm not interested in that kids play anymore. (smug)
I came to give this to you. You're such a nice person. So I'm sure you'll raise her well. (sweet, giving genuine thanks)
