WELCOME TO THE STEEL BALL RUN FANDUB REVIVAL!

AUDITIONS END BY DEC. 18TH

CASTING DECISIONS HAPPEN A WEEK LATER, THE 25TH

We've been planning on coming back after the hiatus after episode 2, and everything's finally come together! However, we're still low on the amount of people we have to actually do things, primarily like voice acting, but also video, audio, and image editing, as well as managing social media. If you plan on helping us do any of those, join the discord and say hello! We'd love to have you on.

So, our current plan, like was said in the video, is to gather up as many people for roles as we can, then to try and push out the Sugar Mountain arc. If that doesn't work, that'd be a shame, and we'd like to avoid that if at all possible. 

But, the goal is that we succeed in producing Sugar Mountain arc episode, gauge interest again, and work on dubbing the entirety of Steel Ball Run, faster than an episode a year. Once that's all started, we can get to work, and start uploading videos!

  • Casting Decisions!

    Hello once again everyone! I'm very glad to announce that we've made decisions on who will be casted for which roles, and I look forward to working with them! Of course, with only 13 roles and nearly 100 auditions, we had to avoid choosing some very choice actors. However, if you auditioned to be cast into a role, don't stop hoping- we'll be casting for characters once they come up in the manga. Without further delay, let's look at the casting!   • Steel Ball Run Fandub: Brief update before the fandub auditions close!

    First off, wow! Almost 100 auditions? Thanks so much everyone. Next: Sorry about the very short notice, but the auditions will be officially closing today at 1200, GMT-8, I put down the wrong date on the deadline, my bad. Also, I forgot to mention that we'll primarily be judging on ability to emote and microphone quality. I'll be sure to not make those mistakes in future casting calls, if everything works out and we continue the fandub. The lead of the part, Johnny is an american born, talented racer. He often acts as the audience's guide, explaining what is happening to the audience, but also has a personality of his own, getting excited and shouting out hasty options in a panic.

Gyro Zeppeli is a more experienced, calmer fighter than Johnny, and will usually be much calmer than Johnny during tense situations. He usually has a calm, even voice, even when detailing how there's no hope left. Despite that, he does have his moments where he becomes agitated, and is often very rude or uncaring to others.

  • Johnny! The bet is void now that the basis is for us to lose! Hurry up and get those chips off the table!

  • How about for that watch? It's worth at least three or four hundred thousand. Four hundred thousand just for a piece of string.

  • ...You gave it to him? The Corpse parts... you handed them over to the last guy left?

A stern, elderly man. Gregorio wants things done as part of the Zeppeli family tradition done right. He only has a scarce few lines this arc, but they'll probably reflect his personality. Coarse and direct.

  • Which side of the net will the ball fall on? That is something that no one can know. That is the 'Realm of God'.

  • A miracle may occur if we make that attempt. But we have no right to endanger our patients in that way.

Hired by the president to kill off Gyro and Johnny in order to retrieve the corpse parts, the Eleven Men are a mysterious group, only speaking once lives are being traded in the casino. Unless one of them is under great duress, they will stay calm, nearly monotone.

A seemingly innocent youngster, Sugar Mountain is waiting for the next in line to become one with the tree so she may see her parents again. However childish she may outwardly seem, her interactions with others are also genuine, However, she also has her serious moments, primarily when talking about the tree's abilities, or thinking about her parents.

The gangster in the casino that is initially uncaring, but persuaded by the power of money, ultimately is convinced to save Gyro and Johnny's lives. He's clearly the head of the group, you could either go for a weaselly, stereotypical Chicago gangster voice, or go with something more commanding, like a person in power would sound like.

  • Yo, big guy... Besides this sixty million... You promised that you'd give us land, and rights for some building or other. Right?

  • Frankly, this is a big hassle for all of us. Either get the hell out of here, or hurry and get shot and get this thing over with.

A young woman Gyro is having a brief stint with. She is a very charming and flirtatious woman, having a playful outburst with Gyro after Gregorio leaves.

The landowner is a very defensive, lived man. He readily pulls out his shotgun as soon as he suspects Johnny and Gyro are trying to scam him. On top of switching easily from a somewhat lax attitude to a murder-ready rage, he throws around his fair share of country-isms and will likely sound a bit like a country bumpkin.

The dealer who almost cheats Gyro and Johnny out of their money. Working as a casino employee, and trying to pass off the coming guaranteed loss as a case of bad luck, he should sound composed, maybe a little forceful when telling Johnny to not rescind the bet.

Threatening Johnny and Gyro with violence, these bouncers are not hesitant at all to shoot them if they break the rules of the casino. They might be pretending to be polite like the dealer, or not, but either way, they are absolutely serious, possibly sounding a little gruff from years of this work.
