Stardew Valley: Voices of Pelican Town (Recast)
Project Overview
(This is a recast due to some complications) Hey there! We are glad you have found our project! This is a Fandub of the game Stardew Valley, as it naturally does not have voice acting. This project started by me playing the game and making up voices for the characters until I decided to tell someone about it and they said they would be able to code the mod and so it started! I am aware that this has been tried before and I acknowledge the amount of work that has to be done, so I hope I can find a group of people willing to help me out with this project. This project is non-profit, due to it being a mod. Make sure you read each character description carefully and choose the ones you think fit you the best, but don't let that stop you from auditioning for another one, everybody is welcome to try out for any role they like. Clint is a villager who lives in Pelican Town and is the local blacksmith. He doesn't like being a blacksmith, but his father wanted him to take over the business. Clint has a crush on Emily but is way too shy and awkward to ever confess to her. He often feels alone because he lives alone and gets depressed thinking about his future. The actor should be able to portray a certain awkwardness and have not much confidence

Demetrius is a villager of Pelican Town. He lives together with his wife Robin, his daughter Maru and his step-son Sebastian. He is a scientist that studies local wildlife and will sometimes ask the players for specific items. He is very protective of Maru and is immensely proud that she is following in his footsteps. The actor should be able to portray a fatherly figure and sound knowledgeable when talking about science
I became a scientist because I wanted to contribute to the progression of our species. Of course, none of this would be possible without farmers such as yourself.
Robin has a hot temper. It's better to stay on her good side. ...now if I could only quantify her mood levels, perhaps I could model the fluctuations using a sinusoidal curve...
How's the farming business going? It's corn season, isn't it? I can imagine it being pretty peaceful, working outdoors with plants all day.
Sam is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. He lives together with his parents Kent and Jodi. Sam likes practicing guitar in his room or is often seen playing videogames or doing skateboard tricks in front of the house. He is full of energy and very outgoing. The actor should be able to put much youthful energy into the lines and radiate a friendly energy.
Hmm. I just remembered that I was supposed to do something... But I forgot. This happens to me all the time.
Oh! I just remembered I'm supposed to call my Grandma. Okay, I'm going to put this rubber band on my wrist so I don't forget. I have to make little reminders for myself or else I'll totally forget to do things.

Elliott is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. He lives in a little cabin on the beach on his own. He is a writer and is currently writing a novel and can often be seen pursuing his career in his cabin. Elliott is a very gentle and poetic soul and will often speak more gracefully than the other bachelors in the game. The actor should be able to deliver a buttery smooth voice that has a nice flow to it to represent the poetic side of Elliott
The fresh air of this valley is good for body and mind. A quick stroll outdoors always invigorates me.

Penny is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. She lives with her mom Pam in a small trailer near a river. She is very shy and modest and doesn't have many ambitions in life except for settling down and starting a family. She also teaches Vincent and Jas because there is no school in Pelican town, so she takes over as the tutor for both. The actress should be able to convey a shy nature and be rather quiet.
We don't have a school here but I'm doing my best to give Vincent and Jas a proper education. Every child deserves a chance to be successful. Jas is very good at math and reading Vincent is good at... well, he has an active imagination
It's kind of embarrassing to be the only family in town who lives in a trailer. I wish I could live in a nice house, someday.
We're very lucky to have a library in such a small town. When you're lost in a book, it's easy to forget the realities of your life. ...Maybe that's why I like reading so much. ...Sorry. I got carried away there.
Jas is a villager of Pelican Town. She is very young and lives together with her Aunt Marnie and her godfather Shane. She loves playing with her toys or playing outside with her friend Vincent. The actress should be able to sound like a small girl and be able to sound very energetic.
Um... d...do you want something? I'm not supposed to talk to strangers.
Shane's gone a lot, and Aunt Marnie is busy all the time... so I have to invent my own games. I'm thankful for all my toys

Vincent is a villager of Pelican Town and lives together with his mother Jodi and his brother Sam until his father returns from overseas. He likes bugs and candy, neither of which his mom lets him have enough he states. He is friends with Jas and will often be found playing with her outside or attending class with Penny. The actor should sound like a young energetic boy that loves candy and playing with snails
*sigh*... Mom won't let me have any more gummies today.
Miss Penny makes me read a new book every week. At least she lets me pick them, sometimes!
Dad seems weird since he came back. I wonder what happened to him? He doesn't play with me anymore.
Emily is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. She lives with her sister Haley, while their parents are traveling the world. Emily loves making her own clothes and is quite skilled at doing so. She is a very soft-spoken person and very kind to anyone she meets. The actress should be able to sound like a free soul accepting of anything and anyone and be able to convey a friendly/happy personality.
Sometimes the flowers speak to me... each one has a different story to tell!

Marnie is a villager in Pelican Town. She lives on a farm together with her Nephew Shane and her niece Jas. She runs a farm where you can buy animals and animal-related things, and she absolutely adores working with them. She is a very nice lady that will give you advice on how to handle your farm. The actress should sound like an older lady and be able to portray the love for animals.
My nephew Shane has been staying at my place the last few months. He helps me out with the chickens, so I'm not complaining.
I spilled a whole bucket of milk on the floor today, it was horrible. And such a waste of my poor Belinda's hard work.
Hi. Need something? I might be getting some different kinds of animals in the future. Although I'll need to make sure there's a market for them, so you'll have to prove your skill with animals first. Just keep treating your animals with respect and good things will happen.
Sebastian is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. He lives together with his step-father Demetrius and his mother Robin, Maru is his half-sister, but he does not pay her much attention because he thinks his parents pay Maru more love and attention than him. He loves sci-fi novels, videogames, and comics and will often be found in his room for a long time. The actor should be able to portray a grumbling young adult that dislikes how much attention his sister is getting and just generally sound displeased with life.
Why does everyone like Maru so much? Sure, she's smart and friendly, but don't they realize it's all just an attention-grabbing scam? Sorry...
I usually stay inside, but I do go to the beach now and then. Pretty much only when it's raining, though. For some reason, staring off into the bleak horizon makes me feel... I dunno. Like it's worthwhile to keep pushing on, I guess.
It's fun to live so close to the train tracks. It's a reminder that there's a big world out there.
Shane is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. He lives together with his Aunt Marnie on a farm. He is often rude to people and sounds generally displeased with life. He suffers from depression and alcohol dependence. He does not have many hobbies and can usually be found working or drinking at the saloon. When the player befriends him, he gets much less rude towards them. The actor should be able to sound rough and displeased with life, drunk voice lines will also be required so the ability to act those out is necessary.

I guess I've grown attached to Marnie and Jas. We're a ragtag bunch but it kind of feels like a weird family. I never really had much of a family as a kid.
Maru is one of the twelve characters available to marry in the game. She lives together with her parents Robin and Demetrius. Daughter of a carpenter and a scientist, she developed an interest in creating and tinkering with whatever she can find. She also works together with Harvey at the clinic. She is an ambitious and outgoing personality. The actress should be able to put energy into the lines and should sound confident and extroverted
I bet you're growing some interesting crops right now. Dad says a lot of exotic plants grow in the valley this time of year.
Someday I'm going to be a world-class inventor. You're lucky to be friends with me!...just kidding.
I guess winter is a good time to work on my gadgets. I wonder if I could make anything useful for farmers?
