Well it's about the Shan family. In 1057 BBY a boy named Itri Shan was born and he was Force sensitive. The first force sensetive member of the Shan family to be born after Satele Shan. Anyways Itri was supposed to be taken to the Jedi temple on Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi but the Jedis ship was attacked by Sith and they found the Itri hiding in a cargo hold. (he was only 4 years old) the sith discovered he was a Shan and they took him to the brotherhood of darkness to be trained as a sith. Itri was obsessed with enteral life and wanted to become immortal like the sith emperor himself. So Itri now called Darth Rivan sought out the dark staff a ancient weapon that can drain force essence from a living being. Rivan created a sith temple on a planet called Almas. He also created a crystal to harness the power of the force essence he drained along the way. He was stopped by his younger brother and 2 Jedi called Iakob (whom is part of Yoda's species) and Kerra Holt. They trapped Rivans spirit inside the crystal itself. Before Rivan can perform the Sith ritual to consume life on Almas. 

Iakob and Kerra decided to build a Jedi academy on Almas to keep an eye on the temple. Rivans younger brother and Kerra holt had a son together and the line of the Shans continued except no force sensitives until Lanius Shan. He was born in 110 BBY and was corrupted by the dark side by Rivans influence whom Rivan contacted Lanius through the force. So Lanius killed his older sister, her husband and child and his parents to turn to the dark side. His younger Theta Shan survived. And he had two children with the senator of The planet called Curlian. Which is in the same system as Almas. After Lanius found the crystal of Rivan on the sith temple he discovered he wasn't strong enough to harness the spirit of Rivan so they waited another member of the Shans was born

Over the next few decades a Hutt crime lord named Riboga the hutt came to Curlian and made the planet into his base. But Theta and his security forces are trying everything to stop him. That's where part one starts. 

The rest of the story is about Aeron and Borin trying to stop Rivan. After on one of their journeys to find relics of their family past. Lanius kidnapped Aeron to take him to Rivan so he can use him as a vessel to finish what he started..
