Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X) (Fan Film)
Project Overview
This project is a trilogy of fan-fiction films that take place in a galaxy, far, far away after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Episode IX. It is a passion project that celebrates the genius of one of the most iconic film franchises of all time. Please be aware that the most recent official Star Wars movies are PG-13 and these movies will also align with that rating. Also please note that this project is run as a NON-UNION project, meaning members of SAG-AFTRA will not be able to be cast on this project.
My goal with this trilogy is to show that while most fans did not appreciate the sequel trilogy of 2015, 2017, and 2019, that the characters the trilogy added to the franchise can be salvaged to create a compelling story and continue the Skywalker Saga with a proper passing of the baton to the children of Rey and Ben Solo. It borrows elements from the Expanded Universe (now called Legends) and shows filmmakers that there does exist a breadth of work and reference that can feed new upcoming films in a beautiful, meaningful way and stay in line with the original concepts of Star Wars created by George Lucas.
So, I wanted to tell that story; the story of a family. I hope you enjoy it and return to see what other stories I come up with from this amazing franchise we all know and love.

We have an art team that is creating all of the artwork for this film in Photoshop layers, so our animator needs to be able to work in Photoshop and import that into Adobe Premiere and/or Adobe After Effects to create the animations. We are looking for submissions of portfolios that include similar work to the video we've included above, a rate sheet, and your availability. If your portfolio includes prior work in Star Wars, be sure to add those as that will get you fast-tracked to an interview with our Director/Producer.
Our project is the first of THREE full-length feature films that could see work go into 2028 and expanded to include other new media content such as audio dramas, comic books, webisodes, and more. CASTING TYPE: VOICE ONLY
Harter Kalonia met her husband Johan when they were just school children in Chandrila and later would lose touch as her family took a more embedded role in the politics of the galaxy. Her father served in the Imperial Army and then later joined the Senate as Junior Senator for Chandrila. As such she traveled all over and often would play with the children of other Senators. One such child was the adopted daughter of Bail Organa, Leia. The two quickly became the best of friends as they traveled all across the galaxy often with other senatorial children. When she would return home, which was rarely ever, she would meet up with the local children and once again reunite with Johan and his older sister, Kahlesee.
As a teenager, she was tutored abroad as her family traveled to many worlds on diplomatic missions. When she was 16, her father wanted her to have a much more stable environment so he put her into the boarding school in Chandrila. But she missed her family an awful lot. Her brother Marcus had married and moved permanently to Coruscant to serve in the Imperial Navy as a pilot. Johan and his sister Kahlesee got to go home every night to their parents, while she remained in the boarding section of the school. It was very lonely for her. Johan and she got closer during this time, and by her 17th birthday, they had fallen in love. They both graduated with honors.
Johan went off to join the Imperial Navy on Coruscant like her brother, so she endeavored to enter the University at Coruscant to become a doctor. Still under Imperial Rule, Coruscant became heavily guarded and Harter was not able to leave freely and was forced to serve as a doctor for the Imperial Hospital at Coruscant. As the Rebellion started to rise up against the tyranny of Emperor Palpatine, Harter’s brother defected to the Rebel cause early on. Marcus left his wife Minera and his two young children with Harter, who had married Johan, to go fight for the freedom of Coruscant. Johan had decided to also defect and joined the Rebellion Alliance, who needed exceptional pilots, which Johan was, and Harter joined him. The whole family was secretly rescued out of Coruscant with the help and assistance of one Princess Leia Organa. Marcus and Johan fought bravely with the Rebels as Harter and Minera, who had trained as nurse, patched up the wounded. Marcus, unfortunately, lost his life in the war.
Harter had followed Leia to Chandrila after the Rebels defeated the Empire and the family joined the New Republic. They made a home there and Harter had two children — Martin Kalonia and Katie Kalonia. Johan lost his life in active duty as the New Republic fought to keep the peace they had worked so hard to achieve. There, Harter’s deep friendship with Leia grew to a sisterhood. Leia would often leave her son Ben Solo in the care of Harter and Johan in Chandrila when she was needing to travel. Little Ben saw Harter and Johan as Aunt and Uncle.
Later, Harter’s son Martin Kalonia — who also became a pilot for Leia’s Resistance paramilitary group — would die at the hands of recently named Supreme Leader Kylo Ren at the Battle of Crait in 34 ABY. Katie Kalonia, being 8 years younger than Martin, is alive and serves the Resistance alongside her mother as a bioengineer helping to enhance the production of food in worlds where there is little to none.
INT. CRAIT, ACKBAR, MILLENNIUM FALCON, CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS – CONTINUOUS
FINN exits the ramp of the Falcon. BB-8 raises it up behind him, protecting BEN and REY from outsiders. FINN finds Dr. HARTER KALONIA standing there, arms crossed, full of nervous energy. FINN sighs.
HARTER KALONIA
Is he in there?
(points to the Falcon)FINN
Harter, I don’t think he’s ready to face any of it right now.HARTER KALONIA
Listen, Leia was my best friend. I brought that child into this world. He’s my responsibility now!FINN
Harter.HARTER KALONIA
(pleadingly)
No! Finn… I am not leaving until I see him.FINN closes his eyes and tries to find REY and BEN. He is successful and tells them that Harter is insisting on visiting with BEN, but she doesn’t seem hostile, rather protective. Inside REY looks to BEN. BEN smiles.
BEN SOLO
(smirks proudly)
He did it.REY
(smiles)
Yes, but Harter.BEN SOLO
It’s okay.BB-8 lets the ramp down behind FINN. He escorts HARTER inside. He points to Han’s Quarters. HARTER is clearly nervous. She hasn’t seen BEN since he was 12. She psyches herself up, then knocks gently on the door. She stands with her arms crossed. REY opens the door. FINN nods once to REY and exits the Falcon. HARTER, keeps her eyes on REY as she steps into the room. Her eyes catch BEN’s as he looks up to her from sitting on the double bunk. HARTER cannot believe her eyes. She shakes her head and immediately breaks into tears. BEN slowly gets up. REY’s eyes fill with tears. HARTER runs over to BEN and wraps her arms lovingly around him. BEN tenses up at first, but he can feel all the love in HARTER’s embrace. The immediate forgiveness. He thinks about his mother, would this be how she would have received him? He softens and dares to hug her back. REY watches the sweet moment. She sees the images of LEIA in BEN’s thoughts.
HARTER KALONIA
(through sobs)
Your mother’s gone.BEN SOLO
(tears flow)
I know.HARTER looks up to him, through tear-stained face.
HARTER KALONIA
I see that little boy I loved in the man before me.BEN SOLO
(voice breaking)

Oh I know… I know.

The only life Talon has ever known is as a Sith. Under the tutelage of Darth Ruyn, Talon’s inherent abilities as a Force-sensitive were honed in order to transform her into a Sith assassin. Psychologically, she was molded to be completely susceptible to the tenets of the One Sith. However, her ultimate loyalty belonged without question to the One Sith’s founder, Darth Krayt, Dark Lord of the Sith who kept their Sith sect hidden in order to grow in numbers and eventually become a dominant force in the galaxy. Darth Krayt had every intention of dethroning Emperor Palpatine, but once he took over the Galactic Senate, he found his task a bit too impossible. Seeing the mistakes that Palpatine was making as the pinnacle of his eventual downfall, Darth Krayt waited… and waited. When Palpatine met his death at the hands of his Dark Apprentice, Darth Vader, those that followed Krayt insisted it was the perfect time to come out of hiding, but Krayt wouldn’t do it.
Darth Krayt’s right-hand man, Darth Nihl wanted to seize the opportunity to bring out the One Sith and pick up where Palpatine left off. His desire to rule became more and more apparent and he decided to take matters into his own hands, killing Darth Krayt in cold blood. Darth Talon, who served as Darth Krayt’s Second Hand, fought Darth Nihl to try to overtake the rule of her beloved master’s throne but failed. Darth Nihl was too powerful, even for her. Burning blood exists between Darth Talon and Darth Nihl as a result of Nihl’s assassination of Krayt. It has long been suspected that Talon was Krayt’s lover and Nihl takes every opportunity to throw it in her face. But Darth Nihl isn’t one to talk, because for years he has maintained an affection and desire for Darth Maladi, who used to be Darth Krayt’s Grand Scientist.
But will Talon finally find the opportunity to put Nihl down? Will Maladi follow her? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X) and beyond.

Aye, sir. Engaging!FINN moves quickly into the turret tower in the middle of the Falcon. He gets to work, keeping comms open. POE flies expertly, dodging and weaving away from the TIE Predators and the Heretic, keeping his eyes on the prize: getting to the Ackbar. X-Wings come up his rear, having cleared the path of TIE Fighters. This only infuriates NIHL even more.

After the death of her dearest and oldest friends, Han Solo and his beloved wife Leia Organa Solo, Maz decided to stay with the Resistance and assist in any way she could to help the millions of citizens that had been displaced by the events of the Hosnian Cataclysm, the Destruction of Kijimi, and the many planets that were subjugated to the First Order after Snoke’s death. These people no longer had the Republic to aid them, so they turned to the Resistance but the Resistance is overwhelmed, lacking their fearless leader Leia, and was quickly running out of resources. Maz used her considerable wealth and whatever artifacts she managed to salvage from the wreck of her once-neutral Castle in Takodana to help the Resistance push through.
For her efforts, Poe Dameron extended her a permanent role as his trusted advisor. The former Pirate Queen, who is well connected, is the only hope the Resistance has to rebuild those bridges and acquire steady income. She also could bring in new connections of her own to the table to help fight against the oppression of the First Order remnants that still lingered in many worlds across the galaxy, even after the presumed death of Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. But to Poe, Finn, Rose, Rey, and now Zorii, she represents much more than a level head with the strategic prowess of a high-ranking military leader, she’s a friend and confidant. To Rey, she has become a mother figure.
INT. ORD MANTELL, RESISTANCE BASE, POE’S OFFICE – SAME TIME
We see POE’s new office in Ord Mantell’s new Resistance Base. There are crates and boxes still unpacked. POE is sitting in his office, and ZORII is next to him. On hologram, we see FINN, MAZ, and LANDO who are on the planet of Rishi.
POE DAMERON
We’re in desperate need of supplies in all
the planets we now occupy in order to set up our bases.LANDO CALRISSIAN (HOLOGRAM)
That’s going to be difficult, Poe.
Almost all trade has come to a halt.MAZ KANATA (HOLOGRAM)

Without the Republic, I am afraid that will prove difficult.

Darth Maladi was taken by the founder and leader of a hidden Sith sect called the One Sith. Darth Krayt had murdered her Jedi father at a very young age, taking the child to rear her in the way of the Sith noting her deep connection with the Force. Maladi specialized in the ways of inquisition, torture, and mental manipulation, all skills which she implemented in her service as the head of Sith Intelligence and Assassination (SIA). She was also a talented scientist who experimented with ways to pervert science to serve the Sith cause. Maladi manufactured and dealt the narcotic ixetal cilona, and was also the mastermind behind a key One Sith project to terraform the now-barren and uninhabitable world of Korriban that was led by Darth Krayt.
After Darth Nihl’s assecion to the throne of the One Sith Empire by killing his master, Darth Krayt, Maladi alligned herself with Nihl’s ideas and grand vision for the One Sith to finally come out of hiding and take control of the galaxy. She had become Nihl’s first apprentice, and through time developed a closeness with him. This put an effective wedge between herself and Darth Talon, who had been fiercely loyal to Darth Krayt and held a seething hate inside for Nihl having killed him. Maladi watches Talon like a hawk because she knows the first chance she gets, she’ll kill Nihl and take the throne. Unlike other apprentices, Maladi looks to serve and not lead. A rarity for a Sith. Nihl, in turn, favors Maladi for just about everything, putting Talon in charge of the most dangerous missions so to keep his beloved apprentice from any real harm. This is something that Maladi does not appreciate for she is a formidable assassin and a master manipulator. Talon senses there is more to their relationship than they let on, which is a distraction — at least to Talon.
We’ll see how this power struggle pans out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).

We're looking to use Riverside FM and Source Connect to record virtual LIVE performances by talented voice actors across the world that will bring our project (and subsequent projects and sub-projects) to life and need a talented audio engineer that will be able to even MORE LIFE to our finished film by bringing about the best edits for our the audio tracks, incorporating a custom musical score that is being created for this film into the fibers of the film, creating atmospheric and foley sounds that enhance the performances, and delivering exceptional quality.
Our entire creative team is working with Adobe and thus we will have Adobe Audition available for use by all our engineers. If you have compatible preferred software, you are welcome to use that as well as long as the files can be converted into Adobe Audition. We are looking for submissions of portfolios that include similar work, a rate sheet, and your availability. After the events of the Battle of Exegol, Lando Calrissian made a promise. A promise to a young lady, Jannah, to help her find her roots. He thought to himself, if there had been a band of ex-stormtroopers that found refuge among the ruins of Kef-Bir, there might be more like them out there. Maybe, just maybe, he may find out what the First Order did with his daughter if he looks hard enough.
Lando, after retiring from the Rebel Alliance, married a beautiful woman who had been a pilot in the Rebel cause. The two made their way back to Bespin, where Lando was once the Baron Administrator of the city known as Cloud City. There they settled in a more secluded city, Ugnorgrad where Lando had posh apartments. They shortly welcomed a daughter and life was good. Lando would often visit with Han and Leia, bringing his wife and young daughter with him. As such, he and his family became an extension of Han’s own, so Lando was known to a young Ben Solo as “uncle Lando”. Along with Chewbacca and Luke Skywalker, the families were nearly inseparable. Lando would often accompany Han and Luke on secret missions. Luke’s quest to find artifacts of value to the Jedi would often rope a very willing Lando into providing assistance. A little adventure never hurt anybody… and well, a peaceful life was boring for someone like him.
As the First Order threatened to rise, they set their sites on Bespin for its abundance in Tibanna gas — used as hyperdrive fuel and repulsorlift on starships. It is a very high-sought commodity. The New Republic at the time had largely turned its noses to the criminal activity of the Amaxine Warriors (the secret name for the First Order). Looking for more recruits they could conscript, they targeted the families of Bespin — taking any and all young children to brainwash them into service. What Leia Organa Solo had most feared was now happening throughout the galaxy and the New Republic had gone blind to it. They expulsed Leia from the Senate when she urged to form a counterattack on the Amaxine Warriors — the threat was now a reality.
The nightly raids started in Bespin, and Lando did all he could do to try to keep not just his family safe but also hundreds of Bespian families that were all under siege and duress. Lando helped many families secretly escape Bespin, and he wanted his wife to take their daughter and escape to the Solo’s, to warn them, Chewie and Luke. But the Solo’s were also dealing with a heavy hand themselves when their son, Ben, had defected to the Dark Side, seemingly burning down Luke’s fledgling Jedi Temple in his wake. Lando’s wife decided against his plan and stayed with him in the thick of the raids and fighting, only to see herself and her daughter taken by the First Order. Having no need for a grown adult woman that could not be corrupted, they killed Lando’s wife and took their daughter. And he has spent most of his time ever since trying to find her, settling in secret on the planet of Pasaana.
Now, after finally finishing off the reincarnated Emperor Palpatine for a second time, he has vowed to help the families of conscripted children reunite and prosper. Along with Maz Kanata, he has his sights set on rebuilding a new government for the galaxy, a new New Republic. One that doesn’t turn a blind eye to incoming threats and helps the citizens of the galaxy when it need. It’s what is needed. It’s what Han fought so hard for all those years of service. It’s what Leia would do! And maybe, just maybe, he will find his daughter.
INT. ORD MANTELL, RESISTANCE BASE, POE’S OFFICE – SAME TIME
We see POE’s new office in Ord Mantell’s new Resistance Base. There are crates and boxes still unpacked. POE is sitting in his office, and ZORII is next to him. On hologram, we see FINN, MAZ, and LANDO who are on the planet of Rishi.

We’re in desperate need of supplies in all the
planets we now occupy in order to set up our bases.LANDO CALRISSIAN (HOLOGRAM)

Following in her big sister’s, Paige, footsteps, Rose Tico joined the Resistance to liberate impoverished planets like hers from the tyranny of the First Order. Growing up on Hays Minor, a isolated, poor man’s mining colony in the Otomok system, the sisters learned to pilot her grandmother’s old Z-95 (the predecessor to the now-popular X-Wing) and subsequently taught Rose how to fix up the ship and create parts for it, as most replacement parts for such an old, outdated ship were no longer in circulation. When the First Order took control of the Hays system, it forced Rose’s people to mine the planets’ resources to feed their war machine. Rose and Paige would often defend their parents and extended family from the ruthlessness of those in charge of the mines. The girls’ parents encouraged them to escape Hays and find the Resistance — joining them under Cobalt Squadron, which was part of the bomb squad of the Resistance.
Rose eventually received news that the First order shelled her people to test the results. Having lost everything they had to the First Order, Rose and her sister committed themselves to the Resistance to avenge their homeworld. The two sisters decided they could make a bigger impact on the First Order if they stayed with the Resistance even after their terms expired, so they did. Rose and Paige promised themselves that they would stop the First Order from pillaging and destroying other worlds and end the suffering of enslavement. However, after Paige died in the Battle of D’Qar, Rose committed herself even further — almost religiously — to the efforts of the Resistance against the First Order. The Resistance was now all she had left. This is something that has stayed with her and its the reason she despises deserters.
During the Battle of Crait, she nearly lost her life preventing Finn from kamikazeing into the First Order’s superlaser siege cannon. When she briefly came to, she delivered a poignant message to Finn right before she leaned in and kissed a bewildered Finn. After, Finn was thrown into several missions across the galaxy, pulling him away from Rose. Rose in turn just dove into work. The two never really addressed the encounter, except briefly to say they should remain friends. However, for Rose there was no one else she was attracted to “in that way” other than Finn. And Finn was always keen to seek her out whenever he’d return from a mission — often to find she was on her own mission abroad.
After the Battle of Exegol, things shifted. Finn was no longer her peer, but her boss. She didn’t know how to bring up the feelings that plagued her, so she pushed them down. Finn is now caught up in the whirlwind that is trying to rebuild the Resistance from where it was left after Exegol AND the added stressor of having to care for the thousands of refugees that now looks to the Resistance for help. Finn has been appointed as Co-General of the Resistance by his best friend, Poe. But he has no idea how to run a military organization like the Resistance. He has only ever known how to serve a master that enslaved him, taking him away from the only family he had ever known for the purposes of subjugating the galaxy. Sure, he knows his way around a kitchen or restroom having worked mostly in sanitation, but now after the power vacuum that he helped to create, for good reasons, the galaxy has no one else to turn to BUT the Resistance.
With the destruction of the New Republic at the hands of Snoke and General Armitage Hux, the galaxy needs help. Citizens that were off-world for the destruction of not only the entirety of the Hosnian system but also Kijimi and other planets prior to the Battle of Exegol now seek refuge, food, and medical care. The Citizens Fleet that assisted the Resistance in taking down the Emperor’s fleet also has hundreds of survivors from those events that need help. The planets that were able to rise up against the tyranny of the First Order were not always successful in doing so. The First Order had extensive armadas holding certain key planets on guard, installing Star Destroyers, Dreadnoughts, and more in their orbits as ordered by General Enryk Pryde. And still, even those planets that did overthrow the First Order like Coruscant, had gang leaders rise up and take over the major cities of those planets. Finn realizes they’re going to be severely overwhelmed and neither he nor Poe have the skills or resources to help these people. To handle this, the Resistance has decided to install a temporary base on the planet of Crait on the other side of the mountain of the former Rebel base, which was thought to be destroyed by the First Order but wasn’t. It would be the last place they would look.
Still, there is a part of Finn that feels pulled towards a higher calling. He hadn’t been able to tell Rey that he believes he is Force-sensitive, but it’s now weighing heavily on his mind. He knows Rey isn’t as developed in her studies of the Force as say Master Luke Skywalker. But she is the only known Force wielder in the galaxy. Or is he? Could there be others out there still? He knows both he and Rey are going to need help if they are to unlock their full potential as Force users. And is this something he wants to pursue? Will Finn finally become a Jedi? Can he leave his best friend Poe alone as General? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).
INT. CRAIT, REY’S RESISTANCE TENT – EARLY MORNING
REY’s tent is meticulously organized. The single cot is made. There are texts sprawled out on a desk in the corner that she had been studying before leaving for Pasaana just a week prior. REY is nervous and fidgeting with her fingers, wringing at them. REY suddenly sits on her cot, gripping the sides with her hands. She tries to start to tell them.
REY
(nervously)
I… uhhh… I don’t…REY trails off but regroups herself. FINN and POE are standing by the door looking down at her. POE crosses his arms. FINN puts his hands at his waist. FINN picks up on something and thought it had to do with her dying back on Exegol, so he tries to help her spit it out. A long beat passes.
FINN
Exegol. You died. So, how are you alive?REY looks to FINN and can’t help but blurt it out.
REY
Ben Solo…REY’s voice starts to trail off and before she can speak her next words, POE interjects.
POE DAMERON
(questioning)
You mean Kylo Ren?REY
No. Ben Solo.POE DAMERON
(statement, annoyed)
You mean Kylo Ren.FINN moves towards REY, sitting next to her. He has a million questions forming in his mind and REY can sense it.
POE DAMERON
(indignant)
He doesn’t deserve that name, Rey.FINN shoots POE a sharp look before looking back to REY.
FINN
(calmly)
Is he dead, Rey?POE DAMERON
(scoffs)
One can only hope.REY
(infuriated, to Poe)
No, he’s with me.REY shoots up from her seated position on the cot to face POE directly. FINN shoots up right behind her.
FINN

(disbelief, mouth drops)

custody so he can face a tribunal as a war criminal.REY
Absolutely not!POE DAMERON
So what you’re saying is you are now harboring a fugitive?REY hitches her breath and before she could speak, FINN steps in.
FINN
(shouting)
Guys! Guys! No one has more reason to hate this
guy than I do, and I have the scar across my back
to prove it. But…POE DAMERON

But, I trust Rey enough to at least hear her out first.
(beat)
Poe?POE DAMERON
Not on this, I won’t.POE is fuming. He looks to FINN with a locked jaw and then smacks his teeth, turning on his heel, and storms out of the tent. REY feels dejected. She sits back down on the cot angrily, hurt. FINN looks at her. Sits down on the dirt floor of the tent, across from REY, he crosses his legs.
REY shakes her head and tears well up in her eyes. She looks to FINN.

(compassion)
Tell me everything, Rey.REY looks FINN and takes a deep breath. She tells FINN the entire story of Ben Solo and how she brought him back to the Light side.

Ben Solo’s fall to the Dark Side left Luke in a state of immense grief. Not just because Snoke (and later revealed to be Palpatine as well) had taken a hold of his nephew and he had let his sister Leia down, but because he had let the Dark Side seep into his own actions and selfishly raised his lightsaber against his own nephew, which effectively pushed Ben into the arms of the Dark Side permanently. He couldn’t bring himself to even try to find his way to snatch Ben back. Instead, he gave up. Why? Because he’s human. When he closed himself off from the Force, he shut the Netherworld of the Force out too and his own father couldn’t speak to him. Luke isolated himself on Ahch-To, hoping a natural death would come soon. But then, Rey came calling to him.
At first, Luke was apathetic to the request that he retake the mantle given to him by taking his father’s Legacy Lightsaber. However, the persistence of young Rey made him rethink his hard stance. When he snuck onboard the Falcon at night to mourn for the loss of his best friend, Han, it was R2-D2 that brought him to the point where he started to reconnect to the Force, and it was his father that showed up. Anakin had never given up on him and he was the first to greet him in the Force. Anakin convinced Luke to train Rey and told him not to give up on Ben like he hadn’t given up on him decades before. Luke admitted to his father that he was not sure he could do what needed to be done. Anakin insisted that there was something special about Rey; he could see it in the Force. He told Luke that she would have what it takes to turn the tide, but Luke was unrelenting in the fact that it would not go the way Anakin thought it would. Luke immediately told Rey he would give her three lessons, that’s it. The next day, he woke up to start training, but his hope in training Rey was that she would be able to stop Kylo Ren by killing him. He never thought that Rey would seek to save him. Luke was convinced that Ben was beyond redemption.
When he projected himself into the Battle of Crait to give the Resistance and his sister enough time to escape, he saw it himself. Ben was coming apart; the cracks were ever so visible. Even when he fought his nephew, he could see that the anger he felt wasn’t what fueled the Dark Side — it wasn’t anger he felt at all, it was heartbreak. He felt everything Ben was feeling in that moment: betrayal, abandonment, disappointment, and generally unloved. He saw the images of his mind, back to when he was a boy. These memories were inaccurate to real facts, however. That’s when Luke knew what had happened to his young nephew. Snoke had stripped away all the good and replaced it with conjured up falsehoods about his own family. He realized in that instant that he had more to give his nephew and that his father had been right. Like Anakin, Ben still had a spark of Light left in him. As his life energy drained from him, he knew that as a Force Ghost he would help Ben restore these memories and that he would be a constant in his life. He told him he would see him again. As he crossed into the Netherworld, he learned the exact nature of Ben and Rey’s connection to the Force. He had never even heard of a Dyad, but there were others — his own master Yoda being one — that knew a great deal about it. But will Ben forgive him? Will he be able to bridge the mile-wide gap between his beloved sister and the father she loathes? Will Rey because the Jedi he always thought she could be? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).
INT. TATOOINE, LARS HOMESTEAD, LIVING AREA – CONTINUOUS
ANAKIN walks into the Lars Homestead like he owns the place and at some point, he had. He’s clearly very familiar with it and is at home inside it. He makes his way into the living area. REY and BEN had dropped their crates in the foyer outside near the front door and now followed ANAKIN into the living room.
LUKE SKYWALKER is sitting on the back edge of a covered-up sofa, looking out a thick glass double door to the other end of the courtyard. ANAKIN walks past him.
ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Son.LUKE stands up and turns around to face BEN. The two stand face to face. LUKE looks over to REY, he winks at her. REY is clearly anxious about this meeting because she can feel BEN’s anxiety. She crosses her arms. ANAKIN looks between his son and his grandson.
LUKE SKYWALKER
I told you I’d see you around, kid.BEN SOLO
You did.LUKE SKYWALKER
And that I wouldn’t be the last Jedi.
(beat)
And I didn’t mean just Rey.LUKE points to his nephew.
BEN SOLO
I don’t think I can call myself that.ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Why not?
(beat)
I do.BEN SOLO
But everything I’ve done… I surely… can’t.LUKE SKYWALKER
In the galaxy’s history, there have been
many Sith that switch sides and become Jedi.
(nods to his father)

Rey defeated her grandfather, the evil Emperor Palpatine, at the cost of her own life. But Ben Solo would crawl his way in a near-death state from the pit Palpatine hurled him into to find her lifeless body lying in the rubble. He decided to give his life to save her in the same way she had done just hours prior. Ben sacrificed his life for her. They shared a brief moment of happiness before Rey realized that he would not be sharing the world with her in the way she had so hoped. In her desperation, she cried out for help even though she knew there was no one else but them.
The Force Ghosts that had helped her to muster the strength she needed to defeat her grandfather decided that the Dyad is too important to the galaxy and that one could not truly reach their potential alone. They banded together to channel what little was left of their Netherworld energies into Rey so that she could resurrect her Dyad. As if time itself had shifted in reverse, Ben’s body re-materialized in front of her very eyes. She helped him sit up to wrap her arms around him.
They made it to Luke’s old X-Wing, luckily still intact, and devised a way to stuff him into the droid compartment behind the pilot’s chair. Making for Tatooine at Ben’s suggestion, Rey drops him off, beaten and battered to head over to the Resistance’s temporary base they had set up after the Battle of Crait on the planet itself — surely the last place the First Order would look — to reunite with her chosen family that included newly-appointed Generals Poe Dameron, Finn, Maz Kanata, Rose Tico, Zorii Bliss, and more.
But, gosh… how is she to explain all of this to her friends? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).

She sits back down on the cot angrily, hurt. FINN looks at her. Sits down on the dirt floor of the tent, across from REY, he crosses his legs.
REY shakes her head and tears well up in her eyes. She looks to FINN.
FINN
(compassion)
Tell me everything, Rey.REY looks FINN and takes a deep breath. She tells FINN the entire story of Ben Solo and how she brought him back to the Light side.

Zorii had been on a mission with some members of her crew, Vicii and Vibbo Hessian and Babu Frik, when General Pryde launched the attack on Kijimi. Her homeworld was destroyed along with whatever had been left of her life. She finds herself homeless, most of her friends killed, and facing feelings she thought she had long ago buried deep.
After she had taken over her mother’s gang, the Spice Runners of Kijimi, focused all her efforts on elevating the status of the crew. She did not want to do things the way her mother had, but she did want to command the respect she thought she deserved. After Poe had rejected her and left Kijimi to join the Republic Navy under Senator Organa Solo’s direction, she had closed her heart off to anyone. She became ruthless, conniving, and coldhearted. But she also didn’t kill anyone that wasn’t trying to kill her or her crew first, unlike her mother.
After a decade or more, Poe Dameron, now a Commander in the paramilitary unit, The Resistance, comes running back into her life with his friends in tow. At first, she wanted to kill him, but the feelings she had buried deep down started to bubble up. Restarting a new life in the Colonies had been something she was saving for in order to leave Kijimi and spice running behind. She invited Poe to come with her, but he was committed to the war; to see it through. But it seemed like Poe was losing hope, feeling like the war might already be lost. Her feelings bubbled over and she gave Poe what he needed to cheer him up and keep the hope in him alive. She always, secretly, admired that in Poe and wished she had more of it for herself. She then offered up her First Order Captain’s medallion so that Poe could help rescue Chewbacca on the Steadfast. That’s when Poe knew that she still loved him. He vowed to himself to come back for her and give her the ring he carried around his neck; his mother’s wedding ring.
Is Zorii able to thaw that ice-cold heart completely and join Poe in the Resistance? Will she be able to forgive herself for all she has done? Or will she run back to the only life she has ever known? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).

INT. CRAIT, RESISTANCE BASE, CITIZEN’S BAY – LATE AFTERNOON
ZORII starts checking her ship, BTA-NR2 Y-wing starfighter named the Comeuppance, to depart to head to Tatooine. POE has made his way into Citizen’s Bay, which is where most of the citizens that helped at Exegol had parked their ships, and is talking to a few of those folks as he walks towards two men. VICII HESSIAN (34, human male) and VIBBO HESSIAN (30, human male) are brothers and were part of ZORII’S Spice Runners of Kijimi. With them, we see the familiar droidsmith, BABU FRIK (85, Anzellan male) with them. They stand in front of their ship, the Hammerhead, which is a YV-865 Aurore-class freighter. POE stops in front of them.
POE DAMERON
Glad you both made it.VICII HESSIAN
Just a handful of us left.VIBBO HESSIAN
Soooo, where is Zorii going?POE DAMERON
(sighs)
To get Rey.BABU FRIK
Hay, hay. Ze’ Je-die?POE DAMERON
Yeah, Babu.VICII HESSIAN
Uhhhh, why her?POE DAMERON
Because she’s stubborn.POE moves to go towards where ZORII’S ship is. VIBBO and VICII stare at POE as he walks away.
VICII HESSIAN
(whispers to Vibbo)
Those two are either going to steam up
that ship or tear each other apart.VIBBO HESSIAN
(chuckles)
Haven’t they done that already?VICII HESSIAN
Well, here we go again.ZORII looks over, seeing POE coming toward her and VICII and VIBBO looking at him. She rolls her eyes, returning to what she was doing.
ZORII BLISS
Don’t even try it.POE DAMERON
Try what?ZORII BLISS
To talk me out of it. I am going. You’re
staying and keep your military out of it.POE DAMERON
It’s dangerous. You don’t know how Ren will
react to you just showing up at Tatooine.ZORII BLISS
And what? Do you think he can’t change?
You were just like me, smuggling spice and
then you ran off to join the Republic Navy!POE DAMERON
Do not compare me to that… that…ZORII BLISS
Man? He’s just a man, ya’ know. Besides if Rey
trusts him and he’s really defected,
he could be of incredible use to us.POE DAMERON
I don’t understand people siding with him.
He’s got the blood of millions on his hands.ZORII BLISS
(sarcastically)
And we don’t?ZORII BLISS
(after a short beat)
The Resistance has just as much blood on their hands as I do
and you justify it by saying they all wore stormtrooper armor,
but those soldiers were human beings too. They were sons,
daughters, fathers, mothers, etc.
Your righteousness doesn’t absolve you.POE looks at her, he sighs and knows she’s right. A long beat passes.
ZORII BLISS
Look, Poe. I know what he has done,
I also know Rey. She’s never given me a
reason not to trust her. So, I am giving her
the benefit of the doubt.POE DAMERON
(after a beat)
Zo’.ZORII BLISS
No. I am not going there with you.POE DAMERON
You never want to talk about it.ZORII BLISS
(sass)
Oh, I see you finally got the memo.
No, I don’t. It’s been over for a long time.POE DAMERON
Not for me.ZORII BLISS
Well, you’ve got a funny way of showing it.
You never came back for me. You never
cared if I was alive or dead.ZORII finishes her safety check of the ship to clear herself for takeoff. She puts her helmet on and starts to climb the loading ladder to the Comeuppance. POE tries to follow her up, but she quickly drops into her chair. She hurriedly tries to lower the canopy of the ship, but POE stops her.
POE DAMERON
Zo’! We need to talk about it.
(beat)
You could all join us, have a home with us here.ZORII scoffs. She pulls the canopy down and runs through her start-up procedure. POE climbs down and the loading ladder retracts. POE walks backward to a space of safety and watches as the Comeuppance rise and disappears into the sky over the base.

Poe has been appointed by the late Leia Organa Solo as the new General of the Resistance. The weight of it was felt throughout all the ranks. At the Battle of Exegol, he thought he had failed in the biggest challenge of his life, faced without his beloved mentor. But the Citizens of the galaxy came to the rescue to prove that Leia’s faith in the people was not misplaced. With his faith restored, he knows he can depend on his best friends Finn and Rey to help him navigate the next steps the Resistance would need to take.
Flying over to the temporary Resistance base on Crait to celebrate with the Citizen’s Fleet and his own people, Poe sees that old familiar Y-Wing, the Comeuppance, land carrying a big part of his past, Zorii. His joy at seeing her ship and hearing her voice at Exegol could not be overstated. He had thought that she perished with the rest of Kijimi, but thankfully she and a few members of his old gang, the Spice Runners of Kijimi, had survived. Having to seek out Babu Frik to help them decipher the locked-away riddle in C-3PO’s memory banks had forced him to unbury feelings for the spicy, no pun intended, Zorii that had captured his heart in a big way many years ago.
Now, he will not only be overwhelmed by the taxing needs of galactic citizens that had been so grievously displaced from their homes, but he will also have to unpack the many layers of the hardened Zorii that he meets now. Zorii herself had also been forced to stuff down her own feelings for the handsome pilot that caused her to kill her own mother, leaving her to lead the gang that had been headed by Zeva Bliss for decades. Will Poe be able to handle the responsibilities that come as General of the only organization left for citizens to turn to, the Resistance? Will he be able to coax the old Zorii he knows her to really be? How will he tackle the return of a redeemed Ben Solo? We’ll find out in Star Wars: The Chosen One (Episode X).
INT. CRAIT, REY’S RESISTANCE TENT – EARLY MORNING
REY’s tent is meticulously organized. The single cot is made. There are texts sprawled out on a desk in the corner that she had been studying before leaving for Pasaana just a week prior. REY is nervous and fidgeting with her fingers, wringing at them. REY suddenly sits on her cot, gripping the sides with her hands. She tries to start to tell them.
REY
(nervously)
I… uhhh… I don’t…REY trails off but regroups herself. FINN and POE are standing by the door looking down at her. POE crosses his arms. FINN puts his hands at his waist. FINN picks up on something and thought it had to do with her dying back on Exegol, so he tries to help her spit it out. A long beat passes.
FINN
Exegol. You died. So, how are you alive?REY looks to FINN and can’t help but blurt it out.
REY
Ben Solo…REY’s voice starts to trail off and before she can speak her next words, POE interjects.
POE DAMERON
(questioning)
You mean Kylo Ren?REY
No. Ben Solo.POE DAMERON
(statement, annoyed)
You mean Kylo Ren.FINN moves towards REY, sitting next to her. He has a million questions forming in his mind and REY can sense it.
POE DAMERON
(indignant)
He doesn’t deserve that name, Rey.FINN shoots POE a sharp look before looking back to REY.
FINN
(calmly)
Is he dead, Rey?POE DAMERON
(scoffs)
One can only hope.REY
(infuriated, to Poe)
No, he’s with me.REY shoots up from her seated position on the cot to face POE directly. FINN shoots up right behind her.
FINN
Let’s all calm down.POE DAMERON
(disbelief, mouth drops)
Well, then I expect you to turn him into our
custody so he can face a tribunal as a war criminal.REY
Absolutely not!POE DAMERON
So what you’re saying is you are now harboring a fugitive?REY hitches her breath and before she could speak, FINN steps in.
FINN
(shouting)
Guys! Guys! No one has more reason to hate this
guy than I do, and I have the scar across my back
to prove it. But…POE DAMERON
(interjects, shouting)
EXACTLY!FINN
But, I trust Rey enough to at least hear her out first.
(beat)
Poe?POE DAMERON

A redeemed Ben Solo gave his life for the one he loved; it was all he felt he could do — give her back to the galaxy. When Rey realized what Ben had done, she desperately cried out for help. But there was no one. Or so she thought.
The Force Ghosts, some that were part of Ben’s family, that had come to her aid against Palpatine heard her cries. They channeled the last of their Force power into Rey to help her resurrect her Dyad. As if time had reversed itself, she watched as the body of Ben Solo re-materialized before her very eyes. When Ben opened his eyes, he saw her. He tried to speak, tried to get up… but he hardly had anything left. Rey pulled him to her, jumping into his arms with both glee and shock. She couldn’t believe what she had done.
But now, Ben has a long journey to true redemption ahead of him. A road filled with atonement and consequence. Rey will help him navigate his new reality as they battle a new threat from a Sith Lord long thought to be gone; one even more powerful than Palpatine himself. Is Ben up to the task? INT. TATOOINE, LARS HOMESTEAD, LIVING AREA – CONTINUOUS
ANAKIN walks into the Lars Homestead like he owns the place and at some point, he had. He’s clearly very familiar with it and is at home inside it. He makes his way into the living area. REY and BEN had dropped their crates in the foyer outside near the front door and now followed ANAKIN into the living room.
LUKE SKYWALKER is sitting on the back edge of a covered-up sofa, looking out a thick glass double door to the other end of the courtyard. ANAKIN walks past him.
ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Son.LUKE stands up and turns around to face BEN. The two stand face to face. LUKE looks over to REY, he winks at her. REY is clearly anxious about this meeting because she can feel BEN’s anxiety. She crosses her arms. ANAKIN looks between his son and his grandson.
LUKE SKYWALKER
I told you I’d see you around, kid.BEN SOLO
You did.LUKE SKYWALKER
And that I wouldn’t be the last Jedi.
(beat)
And I didn’t mean just Rey.LUKE points to his nephew.
BEN SOLO
I don’t think I can call myself that.ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Why not?
(beat)
I do.BEN SOLO
But everything I’ve done… I surely… can’t.LUKE SKYWALKER
In the galaxy’s history, there have been
many Sith that switch sides and become Jedi.
(nods to his father)
You wouldn’t be the only one.BEN SOLO
(sighs)
How many lived long enough to atone for those sins?LUKE SKYWALKER
(chuckles)
You’d be surprised.REY
Do we even want to call ourselves Jedi anymore?ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Yes, and I’ll tell you why.LUKE SKYWALKER
(interjects)
Because the galaxy sees the Jedi as a
symbol of hope… and we will always need that.ANAKIN SKYWALKER
My son is right. But… it’s time for a new Jedi Order.LUKE SKYWALKER
Yes.ANAKIN SKYWALKER
One that teaches its practitioners that they are first and foremost, people.
Just as much as the ones we’re sworn to protect. We’re not infallible.
(beat)
We’re not meant to be perfect.
(beat)
We’re meant to be the examples.LUKE SKYWALKER
Yes, we’re also flawed, we make mistakes,
and in our mistakes, we have the same capacity to learn.ANAKIN SKYWALKER
An order in where attachments can be
seen as a strength, not a weakness.LUKE SKYWALKER
We must not be so afraid to lose the ones we love,
that we do not love at all.
(beat)
We have separated ourselves so much from
the people that we’re no longer relatable.ANAKIN looks down, he thinks to his beloved PADME. The mother of LUKE and LEIA, the only woman he had ever loved. He sighs heavily.

Yes, sir. Right away.YASA issues command to deploy a single TIE Fighter squadron. ELLIAN turns to face Captain EDMUND MAYFIELD (human male, late thirties).

Captain, you have the bridge.EDMUND MAYFIELD
Sir, I do not believe it’s prudent for
you to go down there by yourself.ELLIAN ZAHRA
