Star Wars: Imperial Commando - Legends novel fan sequel audio trailer
Project Overview
Imperial Commando: Sins of The Father is a fan sequel to the Republic Commando and Imperial Commando novels by Karen Traviss. Taking place after Order 66, the surviving special forces members of the Galactic Republic have either been redesignated as Imperial Commandos under the 501st Legion, or have gone rogue. The Mandalorian Kal Skirata has absconded with several of his adopted Clone sons to Mandalore, leaving many more of his children under Imperial command. Unbeknownst to Kal, his son Darman has come to Mandalore not to reunite with his family, but to murder the Jedi they've taken in and kidnap his own son.
Meanwhile, the Imperial presence on Mandalore steadily increases, with the Empire attempting to mine and manufacture Beskar for their own use. With tension between Mandalorians and the Empire already tight, the Death Watch begins to emerge once again, ready for a new age of their extremist deviation from Mandalorian culture.
The project is a simple trailer for the book, containing lines from the first few chapters in order to garner interest in the story. In the future, I would potentially be interested in making a whole audiobook, but for now this will be just a short video.

Palpatine is the architect of countless suffering, the genocide of multiple planets, and the monster that is Darth Vader. He is cold, calculating, and malevolent. His voice is a cruel and smug crackle of authority.
“Isn’t it wonderful, my apprentice?” Palpatine slurred the last word, almost mocking his once perfect prodigy.
“Never forget, Lord Vader,” Palpatine spoke in what Vader had begun to recognize as his condescending lecture. “For all their talks of peace and compassion, it was the Jedi who organized Mandalore’s genocide.”
“Of course they did,” Palpatine chuckled, that cold, horrible laugh. “You can’t kill something so widespread. So instead they hit it where the Mandalorians would most feel it. Their families. When you can’t kill your enemy, you kill the only ones they care about. Sooner or later, your enemies will either take their own lives, or arrive to avenge their loved ones.”
Vader is a being burning with rage, but nothing left to feed it. He is empty agony and despair, his voice filled with apathy and spite beneath the modulation from the machinery that allows him to breath and speak.
“It is, my master,” Vader’s words were cold and simple, but Palpatine could sense the pure hatred as he said that final word.
“But they failed,” Vader pointed out.
“What is the difference?” Vader asked.
Kal Skirata is as fierce a warrior as any Mandalorian, but his priority is to be a father. He adopted every Clone he ever trained, and looks at every other Clone as a child that needs a father. He hates both the Jedi and Kaminoans with a passion, though knows deep down that the Jedi are no more evil than he is, and has begun to see that not all Kaminoans are monsters.
He is an elderly man, but still in near-peak condition, and speaks with a Mandalorian (New Zealand) accent.
“So you wake me, eh?” Kal chuckled. “You’re a bit big to sit on my lap now, you know?”
“It never gets better,” Kal replied. “Not really. But you’re strong, Ord’ika. It’s okay to be scared, even when there’s nothing to be scared of. It means when the time comes for you to face something dangerous, you’ll be ready.”
“Every other day, more Imperials show up on our doorstep,” Skirata growled. “We can hide my boys under their Beskar’gam, hell we can tell the Imps that Jango had a girl on every street. But there’s no hiding a fierfeckin Kaminoan from them, and if someone sees Scout using magic, it’s over.”
Doctor Uthan was once a brilliant Separatist scientist, before being abducted by Omega Squad. Palpatine wisely stashed her in a psych ward, hoping to one day use her brilliance to manufacture death plagues. Ironically, shortly before Order 66, she was once again abducted by the Skirata Clan. This time to cure the Clones of their accelerated aging.
Uthan is first and foremost a scientist, viewing both the darkest and brightest of innovation as magnificent. By the time of this fan novel, she is overcoming the depression brought upon her by her captivity and opening up to the Mandalorian doctor Mij Gilamar.
“I think I just hit a break through,”
“Maybe six months,” she said, biting her lip. “Or six years.
“No…” Uthan quietly said. “Don’t get their hopes up, not until I can make sure it’s actually safe.”
Rav Bralor is a skilled Mandalorian warrior, famed for her mastery of twin pistols. Much like Kal Skirata, she adopted the Clone Commandos she trained, and helped smuggle some of her sons to Mandalore. Unlike Kal, she is more open minded when it comes to the Jedi, though she still dislikes them.
“Those boys? I love them more than you could ever imagine. What you’ve done to them is awful, and I can never forgive myself for helping you.”
Niner is squad leader of Omega Squad, a Clone Commando unit comprised of sole survivors. During Order 66, he attempted to save the life of a Jedi, ironically causing himself to be critically injured by another. His treachery was hidden from the Empire, leading Niner to become enlisted in the 501st. Despite this, Niner wishes to escape the Empire with his brother Darman and live a life of peace.
“Makes me think they don’t need us anymore,” Niner grimly stated. “I mean, they merged us with ARCs and Centax clones. They certainly don’t need Commandos now.”
