The world of Luxen is one of Magic... though it wasn't always this way. It used to be a peaceful world. One of joy, harmony, trade... until a few thousand years ago, when for reasons now lost to time... magic appeared. This magic split itself into 20 different types depending on the personality of the individual. Seven of these were the called the sinful magic types, those being Lust, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Wrath, Pride, Gluttony. Another 7 of them were called the virtuous magic types, which were Hope, Prudence, Fortitude, Faith, Justice, Charity, and Temperance. The final 6 were coined the combination magics, thought to occur when the sinful and virtuous traits mixed, and these 6 types were called Transparency, Hate, Love, Deceit, Restraint, and Curse. Each of these Magic Types came with their own special powers and abilities, and over time the world would slowly adapt to their existence. This is what led Luxen to become what it is today: A continent comprised of 21 different regions. 20 of them were representative of a specific Magic Type, while the last one was the capital, ruled by the individual considered to be the strongest across all of Luxen... though that wasn't all there was.
As well as the powers granted by one's Magic Type, each person also exhibited powers that did seem to be truly random. These 'random' powers would be dubbed the Unique Ability and Magic Weapon, which could do practically anything. The only caveat was that the powers of Magic Weapons had to be held within a conduit that each particular individual could create. The world ended up deciding that while it was important to train the powers of your Magic Type, your true place in society would be decided by the strength of your Unique Ability and Magic Weapon. This led to Luxen becoming a world dependent on strength. Those in power didn't just command others to protect them, they had the power to do what they wanted all on their own. Even today, with a system of nobles across every nation, you must still maintain your own power or risk losing everything to one who is stronger.
Hey everyone! what you just read is the general setup for my story Spirit Bound. I started working on this story over three years ago, and recently I decided that I wanted to take it to the next level and make an Audio Drama out of the story. I'm very pleased to say that I succeeded and along with some wonderful talent, managed to create the Pilot Episode for this story, and we're looking to continue. This means it's time not only to get some more voice actors, but also any other talent interested in helping out! But what I said earlier is just a lore drop on what Spirit Bound is, what actually is this story?
Spirit Bound is a high fantasy storyline that technically takes place across two separate stories, a Future and Past storyline. The past storyline tells the story of a world that is completely controlled by a woman named Astrid Kinellas, a queen of Hate Magic that has an unyielding hold on all of Luxen. The story spans across all of Luxen, dealing with the world under this dictatorship, as people desperately try to fight against the tyranny.
The future story happens 1600 years after the past story, where Luxen is in a state of complete disarray and chaos. Edmund Farelyn, a character from the past story, is now the King of Luxen, and over time has seemed to lose both himself, and his grip on the nations of Luxen. This story is meant to be a geopolitical war drama about all these different nations and characters with their own goals, motivations, and powers fighting for what they want and what they believe that they need.
The episodes will air alternating with each other, starting with future, then going to a past episode, and back and forth again until the end of this story (The episode these auditions are for is the first episode of the past arc!). If you join the crew, you can expect to be part of an Epic story, that has many seasons and stories planned to tell an emotional, action packed, and intense tale from the point of view of dozens of different characters across the world.
This story has been my passion for many years, and that passion isn't going anywhere anytime soon. So, if you'd like to be a part of it, then I implore you please audition!

Astrid Kinellas, the Rotten Queen, is a major antagonist in the past arc and is quite an important character in the overall story. Many describe her as being "like a child that got their hands on too much power". She's petty, Cruel, and will hurt or demean people just to help her own ego if she feels any disrespect her way. I imagine her having a higher pitched voice that's usually quite playful but can become serious and cold when she needs it to.
(In an excited tone) Eamon darling (Pronounced A-Mon)! To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?
(Arrogant, Haughty) If there is any doubt in your minds of who it is you keel to, of who it is that allows your hearts to continue beating, then I implore you to burn this woman's image into your souls.
(Annoyed, Disgusted) Silence Cur! Be grateful that you have at least some friends that are worth more than the mud on my heel.
Eleanor Aster is a princess of the nation of Deceit in Luxen, and she is sought after by most everyone, noble or otherwise. She's a kind and generous person with strong convictions. She's likes to see the good in others but won't hesitate to exhibit her strength if people overstep her boundaries. I imagine her as having a calmer, medium pitched voice that's quite energetic. Eleanor is one of the most important characters, as she has a major role in the past story, and a pretty big role at certain points in the future story.
(Annoyed, Fake Sweet) Excuse me, I would appreciate it if you would kindly step the fuck back.
(Confident, Preaching) And it isn't fair! You all really think this is how it's supposed to be! This world is nothing but a contest of strength, because if you're strong enough, then you're just allowed to oppress and control those weaker than you. Isn't it time for all of you to stand up for yourselves? To stand against the system that's never done anything for you! Well, I say it is!
Sing a song. I'd prefer an emotional song, but anything that demonstrates a decent vocal range is fine.
Nobu is technically the prince of the nation of Faith Magic in Luxen, but his true position is a bit more complex. He disagreed with the way his family did things and so he left to build a new life and fight against his family. He's a very shrewd individual, and typically fights with his intelligence and agility more than raw strength. I imagine his voice as being somewhat naturally regal, with intonations that make him seem pretentious even if he isn't. It should also be on the higher side. Not super high pitched, more like somewhere in the middle. It can be deep at times, but his natural speaking voice is definitely a bit higher than normal. Nobu is a very important character across the past arc.
(Angry) Well! Fun fact about me! My family sees me as a PILE OF SHIT BENEATH THEIR FEET!
(Flirtatious) Oh my ladies aren't you a feisty bunch~ *light chuckle*
(Serious) Elisia... if anything goes wrong, please... forget about me. I need to know you can keep living if... well, I'm sure I don't need to say it.
Elisia is a powerful warrior and the sworn servant of Nobu Ozriroth. Technically she's his slave, but when he ran away from his family he freed her, but she continued to follow him. She's entirely dedicated to his protection, and just wants what's best for him. She is fairly intelligent but tries not to let it show often such that people will underestimate her. I imagine her in a medium- pitched voice. She tries to talk lower than her voice actually is to be more intimidating, but her real voice is somewhere in the middle of the pitch spectrum. Elisia is also a Demogun, which is a race of being that has difficulty feeling most emotions other than small moments unless she enters a form that her race has access to where they become the embodiment of their magic. For Elisia, this makes her extremely determined to where she is practically unable to give up on any goal while using her magic. Elisia is a supporting character in the audio drama, though she is still quite important.
(Disgusted) I would much prefer we didn't do that Master.
(Thoughtful) Actually, it does make some amount of sense. If they were attempting to cut corners and hide their ineptitude... then that was an ingenius move.
(Serious, Determined) Step Aside. If you think that any one of you stands the slightest chance at defeating me, then please, keep standing in my way.
Johnathan Powers is a revolutionary peasant with a determination unlike many others. He is confident, cocky, and has an innate hatred for Magic. This is because he was born without Magic, making him have to work harder than anyone else to achieve the same results that they do. I imagine him as having a voice on the deeper side, and without a lot of grizzle, being very clean. Johnathan is a very important character throughout the past arc of the audio drama.
(Calm, Remorseful) We... didn't mean for it to end up that way. Nobody was supposed to die.
(Angry) And I'm starting with YOU! Because maybe seeing the body of a noble strewn across the streets of Jutus will be enough to make everyone realize that they CAN make a difference!
(Annoyed, Hurt) N-ngh... he's right... we need to get to a healer, but we can't stay for long.
Amber is a woman with a heart of fire. She's Johnathan's right-hand woman and is willing to fight for his cause to bitter end. She has a very quick to anger personality and is very defensive of her beliefs. She also loves a good fight, and never backs down for the sake of her own pride. I imagine her voice as being medium pitched and a bit grizzly, with a bit of rasp to it. Amber is a supporting character through the story of the past arc, but still relatively important.
(Excited) Y'know I was kinda hopin' something would go wrong so I could beat some ass!
(Annoyed, Concerned) Stop talking dumbass! You need to save your strength.
(Angry) And what if this IS what I want huh?! You think that just because I'm helping a weakling it's automatically out of pity?! The only one who deserves pity in this fight is YOU.
Eamon (Pronounced A-Mon like as pronounced in pokemon) is the leader of the most well-known mercenary group across Luxen, the Shattered Blade. Eamon is also, for lack of a better word, an asshole. He fucks with people for no other reason than he can if he's bored, and really when something doesn't involve work, he's rarely serious. However, this is mostly because like Elisia, he is a Demogun. This is a race of people that has trouble feeling emotion unless they're using their Essence Magic. For Eamon, this means that unless he's doing something adrenaline rushing or against another person, he can't feel anything positive. When he is in his mode using magic though, he is very sweet and kind, as he is of the Love Magic Type. I imagine his voice on as being higher pitched, and maybe with a little bit of rasp to it. Eamon is a very important character in the past arc.
(Serious but spoken like a joke) Soooo question. How would you feel if I went in there and killed Astrid? Would you be pissed because that's your duty, or would you be happy because on the inside you hate her just as much as everyone else? Eh, guess it doesn't matter anyway.
(Ominous Serious) I'm sure there's at least one district that'd pay a pretty penny for a piece of information like that...
(Fake calm turned into hype) Come on Eri we aren't just doing it for a bit of money... we're doing it for a shit load of money! That's right, 5000! per man! per day! I know, I'm the FUCKING BEST!
While VA's cast for other characters will do most of the extra's work, if you don't get one of those roles and still want to participate you can apply to be an extra! The extras will range from a wide variety of things, so the more varied your acting is, the most extra voices you could qualify for.

I'm looking for artists to help bring the scenes of the audio drama to life in a visual format for people to see during the episodes! I will cast multiple people as an artist if we have the auditions for it because we could use all the help we can get!
