Project Overview

Introduction

In a state of Limbo, 10 souls are gathered for judgement in a plane unknown to them. However, each soul only retained vague memories of who they once were. Not only that, but they’ve also been given bodies that feel both foreign yet right. A personification that might clue them in to who they may be.

Each of these souls has been granted a chance at instant redemption, albeit with a catch. They must win a tournament against each other, the winner getting guaranteed forgiveness while the others' fates are unknown.

The big question that lingers in all of these souls’ minds are these tournaments. Specifically… video game tournaments? Follow the journey of these 10 souls in Limbo as they fight for redemption, while also trying to solve the mystery of who they are, and why they even are here in the first place. 

This project takes inspiration from The Amazing Digital Circus and Death Parade.  


Specifics

This project is an episodic youtube series planned to be recorded over discord as a long term project. It shall consist of a mix of scripted scenes and improvised scenes with characters giving their commentary over the tournament. However, you do not need to own the video games during these sections. The fates of these characters will ultimately be randomised based on the outcomes of these tournaments, leading to the improvisational nature of these sections. In case of any overbearing errors, or a loss of recording, I will have a separate recording for both video and audio, so that section may be redubbed.. Each character is currently kept vague in nature. Characters will be refined in collaboration with the cast to reflect their personality and help them feel more comfortable in the role. You are still expected to stay fully in character but this should hopefully help you with this process. I, the organiser of this project, shall try my utmost best to support you during this process. 

This project's main goal is to produce something entertaining while polishing my editing skills, as I really need those for well- editing haha. It is utmost important to me to form an environment of collective support, and make the creative process enjoyable for all involved. 

Audition Requirements

As stated, this project will be recorded fully though Discord, as such, a Discord account is required This project also has an age requirement of 16+ . You are required to have a functioning microphone, as your voice will be recorded. Your microphone does not have to be of the highest quality, so long as your voice is clear enough to be discerned. Ensure that the microphone you use for your submission is the same as that which you intend to use over Discord. 

Currently no character has any assigned gender so please try out any and all that speak to you. The names listed are placeholder names and not final. Please provide 2 to 3 takes in either AABBCC or ABCABC format. Ensure to state your age and add your discord account, otherwise casting will not be possible. Lastly, and most importantly, just have fun :3

Final Statements

If this project is for you, then please feel free to submit an audition. I shall be grateful for any and all auditions. While the current version of this project is a reworking of my original vision I am no less passionate for what I have created. I thank you very much for your time, and I hope to work with you <3

  • Casting has Commenced!

    Thank you everyone for all the auditions. After an immence couple of hours I think I've settled on who I would like to cast for each role. I shall message those lovely people at some point tommorow to confirm that they still wish to take part in the project so keep on the lookout for dms from me :3

    For those who I sadly couldn't cast thank you still for auditioning I do really appreciate each and every audition. I shall keep the Extra role open if you still have interest in the project but no hard feelings of course if you don't desire to.

    Thank you everyone for all fo your auditions! I've finished up the first wave of shortlistings and dismissals.     As a general note, there were a few auditions I had to sadly dismiss due to not including your age or discord. Please be sure to include these in your audition or I cannot consider you for a role.

  • Shortlisting Update

    Hello everyone, thank you kindly for all the submissions so far they have been lovely to hear. I shall be doing my first wave of shortlistings and dismissals on the 1st January. For those looking to audition or have already but wish to try out some of the other characters, I would recommend trying to aim for that date if you wish for feedback on your takes!

    Don't worry though, casting will still only take place after the Deadline on the 31st January.

A fire fueled with vigour for success. This spirit of pure flame roars loud and with pride, claiming comfort in the burning passion for victory. 


This spirit is loud, boisterous and competitive. They put their all into anything in, or out of, their comfort zone, but can be perceived as obnoxious to those who aren't as comfortable with such brazenness. They are both a sore loser and winner, the thrill of the game is their life, nothing else matters.


I’m looking for someone willing to be loud with some punch behind their voice, but is also able to adapt to those quieter moments. If you think you can do that, give them a shot!

Knowledge is power, at least for this little guy. This spectre of intelligence uses their archive of information to prepare themselves for everything while also fueled by the curiosity to learn more. 


This spirit is nerdy and passionate for learning. They enjoy nothing more than learning everything they can so they can be prepared for everything they can. They could defeat Superman with prep time. They can however be vulnerable in the moment and can collapse under the pressure of a situation they have not prepared for. Despite this they are just a person who lives and dies by the collection of information. 

If you wish to voice this character, play with the nerdiness in their voice, whether that be a softer voice or some levels of nasalness. Just be careful not to go too far, they are still a character grounded in reality.

  • I don't see any harm in learning more about this, at the very least. By playing along, we might learn more about why we’ve been brought here like this. (in a calm demeanor, in an attempt to support the group)

  • To know everything, is to know you are okay… at least that's what I believe in. If the fear is known, one can brave it, the unknown on the other hand, is truly terrifying. Whether what I know is actually the truth though, sometimes… I'm unsure. (a moment of vulnerability, a bit softer)

Wearing their emotions on their sleeves, this cloud of rain can't help but pour out their heart in the best and worst of times.


This spirit is the spiritual embodiment of emotion. It's no wonder their soul is represented as the weather, as their emotions can shape your day for the better or the worse. Unfortunately, as of right now, they represent more sadness and worry being the contestant most opposed to the situation they are currently in. Them understanding how their feelings are rubbing off to others, is sadly only making things worse for them. One can only hope for the best for this puddle of emotions.


This spirit is very emotional, so I’m looking for someone who can portray their emotions with full sincerity. They have a softer voice that might be higher than lower. Feel free to play around however.

Seemingly the spiritual embodiment of a ray of sunshine. They love supporting the people they love with their affectionate energy, creating a sun blasted spotlight on those they cherish.


This spirit is extroverted and sociable, choosing to interact with everyone around them. They create their own happiness for themselves and try to push it on to everyone else with usually positive effects. They can, however, be a lot, especially in situations where they can sometimes come off as insensitive instead of supportive. Deep down, they might also need support themselves, choosing to shine a sun powered spotlight on others, rather than believing they themselves could be in it.


If you audition for them, embrace your sunshine energy. I’m looking for an upbeat and supportive voice on the higher end. Be cheery, be more cheery, be a little too cheery. Yeah!

Living armour that has come to life as a spirit of knighthood and gentlemen’s honour. Deep down, in that armor, is a heart of steel.


This spirit portrays themselves as exceptionally honourable. It's their responsibility to use their clad metal armour to serve as a knight in shining armour for any and all. Their act doesn’t chime well with everyone, however, and it can come across as discomforting for some. Still, to them the act is everything, to the point of possibly not being an act anymore. Huzzaahhh! 


Their voice actor should embrace the stereotype of a prince or knight. A formal possibly slower voice, that can play around with a more suave or posh accent. Embody someone playing a prince from a fairy tale.

  • By now, it just feels second nature to portray myself such as you see. I do, however, dislike the gazes I get from it. All I desire is to be compassionate to those around me, yet in return all I receive is resentment. Is it- is it selfish of me to be saddened by that? (showing a bit of vulnerability, while trying to keep some levels of jolliness)

A collection of rocks pulled together via the pull of a down to earth soul. This friendly giant can almost appear out of place, yet is able to make themselves at home.


This spirit is a gentle and relaxed soul and means no harm, despite being the tallest among the cast. They speak slowly and calmly, only choosing to speak when they feel they have something meaningful to say. Sadly, worries regarding their personality weigh them down, sometimes wishing they were a more interesting character, but they try to keep this to themselves. It's their voice that anyone, and everyone, listens to, either out of respect, or out of fear. 


This soul’s voice should feel powerful. If you voice them, feel your voice rumble in your chest. Speak at a slower pace and think of every word you are about to say before saying it. I’m looking for lower voices rather than higher ones here.

Mysterious and composed, this hidden spirit plays into their dark appearance, portraying themselves as a cool, yet sinister, shadow.


This Spirt ttalks slowly and sternly with no intention of breaking their grand persona. In truth, their act is but a mask to hide their true selves from people, lest it taint their opinion of themselves. It helps them stay calm under pressure and focus on their own goals for victory, although, it also comes at the cost of being overly prideful and their words can be too blunt, coming off as rude and mean.

  • How can any of you guys be friendly with each other? We’ve been brought into this situation to compete against each other, so why is everyone so upset at me for trying to just compete? Calm, collected, and quiet. A person who doesn’t let their emotions be shown, and instead keeps on solving the mysteries surrounding them.


This spirit is calm and curious. You can find them investigating anything and everything in this realm. You could say they are similar to Bookworm in that aspect. They are kind to those they speak to, wishing to understand them and themselves doing so. While they let others open up to them, you wouldn’t ever see them reciprocating. A friendly face with an unbreakable guard.In reality though deep down there's a guy just as scared as everyone else just doing what they know best. It might be all that they know what to do. 


They should have a mysterious, low voice that is calm and collected. As their voice actor, think of all the famous detectives, and try to imitate their smarts, while avoiding being condescending.

The manager of this Limbo. They determine the fates of these souls as their final act of judgement.


This character plays a different role in the story compared to the others. They are not a contestant, but in fact the one who determines the fate of the contestants at the very end. They speak fair, but firm, as the figure who decides whether each soul here can be forgiven. It's to be noted that this character appears less frequently than the others, and is as such a smaller role compared to the main cast. 


The Judge speaks their lines with a firm, close to monotone delivery, with each word said being literal. They speak point blank and are always serious. If you audition for them, embody the voice of a judge, who has the power to decide someone's fate, be strong, be intimidating, be tough.
