Sonic The Hedgehog Comic Dub (Archie)
Project Overview
Hello anyone and everyone interested in my project! My name is Zach, and I have always been intrigued and confused by the Archie line of Sonic The Hedgehog comic books, however, when I went to find a dubbing of the series, nothing came up! Just some light videos containing peoples thoughts on the comic. While I love that, I think it's a missed opportunity to show and immerse people into a wonderful, yet controversial world that not many get to experience!
This is where I turn to you, members of Casting Call! I have lots and LOTS of rolls that I need filled; small, big, and somewhere in between. There is a lot to cover, and to be honest, I don't quite know the scope of this project. I'd love to cover the whole line, all 290 issues, alongside Knuckles The Echidna and Sonic Universe. After that, it'll come down to demand and want for anything else. In total, we'll be covering over 300 comics!! When it comes to voices, I want YOUR takes on the characters! It doesn't have to sound like their "official" voices, just do your own spin (ha) on the characters! While this project only contains a handful of voices, future projects will include more and more characters as the series goes on.
Now, I want to always be upfront with what I want/expect from anyone who signs onto this project, so I'll give you guys some details. My goal is to dub at least 12-15 comics a month at the least. At the most, 20. Now this is a lot, I know, but it's the only way I can ensure the dubs come out in a timely manner. These will be going on YouTube, and in the description, EVERY PERSON INVOLVED WILL BE PROPERLY CREDITED!!!! If you're in the video, no matter how small the role, you can have two links that I'll put in the description, as this project will not be paid. Another sticking point is that I will be in call with you recording lines (One on one), doing the directing so we don't have to worry about any reshoots. Trust me, it'll make the recording process much easier (This can be negotiable though!). Sorry, if this sounded strict, I just need to convey everything so nothing is kept in the dark.

Tails is Sonic's best pal and a member of the Freedom Fighters! Now, I'm not looking for anything super accurate to his cartoon voices because...well that's not what I'm looking for. Instead, I want your own spin on it!! Give him any kind of voice you want that fits a child, even if that ends up having him sound more feminine. There's a LOT to this role, so if you're interested, be warned deadlines will be strict and you'll read a lot.
*Sonic just gave an inspiring speech about kicking Eggman's butt, and you're more pumped up than ever to really stick it to him* Alright Freedom Fighters! Let's go out and boil some egg!
*You're sad, witnessing your life time friend disappear without a trace after Robotnik shoots him with a beam. You should sound defeated more than anything* So-sonic, no... you've gone too far this time Robotnik. Sonic...
*You're angry, seeing your friend confess his love to the woman you adore. You hear and go to fight him* SONIC! HOW COULD YOU?! You were my brother.. but you did this to me?!?!
Ok, in this comic, Eggman and Robotnik are technically two different characters. This is for Robotnik!! Eggman auditions will happen at a future date, so stay tuned for that. This Robotnik is a more menacing take on him, he's not goofy like his later incarnations, so a more deep voice I feel is on order for him. Dean Bristo (SA 1&2) is a great example of what I'm looking for. As always, put your own little spin on it! It doesn't have to sound exactly like him to be good :)
*You're feeling good, you've cornered Sonic and are acting smug as all hell* You thought you eluded me, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, but I have the one up on *you!*
*Furious at another foiled plan due to the Freedom Fighters, you yell out to Snively.* SNIVELY! HOW COULD I LOSE TO A BUNCH OF PESTS?! I'll wring that little rodent's neck if it's the last thing I do!
*You did it. You defeated Sonic. You're beyond excited at the prospect* I've...I've done it! My GENIUS intellect has won the day! MOBIUS IS MINE MUAHAHAHAHA!
Ok Freedom Fighters, Sally Acorn is one of the most important characters in the comic, meaning I'll be just a tad picky when it comes to casting her. Sally is an extremely strong, important character to the Archie line of Sonic comics. As leader of the Freedom Fighters, she carries essentially the world on her shoulders and is both burdened and strengthened by that. I'm just looking for an extremely clean sound, young adult voice, but I'm as always open to interpretation!
*You're giving an inspirational meeting to the Freedom Fighters, so you're motivated and confident* Alright Freedom Fighters! Time and Time again Robotnik has battled, duped, and hurt us all, but it's time we take the fight to him! We've located his base of operations, and are planning an attack on him! Together, we can finally overthrow him and take back our world! Let's do this Freedom Fighters!
*Your father (who has been missing for years) finally returns. You're extremely emotional, being ecstatic at his return, but hesitant due to him leaving before* Father! You...you've finally returned! I'm so hap- *clears throat to sound more refined* We're happy to have you back King Acorn.
*Skeptical of the way Sonic is acting, and upset at him for ruining your tactical plan, you lash out at him* Sonic, can't you just once FOLLOW THE PLAN?! I swear you only ever think of yourself like some... some BRAT!
Another strong, important character of the Freedom Fighters, Bunnie is a half bunny, half robot who helps fight to end Robotnik's tyrannical rule. She has a pretty thick southern accent, and I honestly can't see her without it. That is to say, while I'm up to interpretation with the pitch of her voice, the southern accent is a requirement for this role.
*You've just been praised by your fellow Freedom Fighters, so you feel bashful* Well shucks y'all *giggle* I don't know what to say!
*Robotnik has captured you friends, and it's up to you to save them! Your pitch should be slightly lowered, as you realize the gravity of the situation* Well, a bunny's gotta do what a bunny's gotta do! Time to go kick some Robuttnik!
*Antoine is trying to flirt but is failing miserably, but you still indulge him* Awww, Antoine you're as sweet as my momma's sweet carrot cake! Sure, I'll go out with you to Knotville forest.
Antoine is a scaredy cat (err, fox)! A french "soldier" who cowers a lot, but helps when needed! I'm a pretty big stickler on him having an accent, but if you can come up with a work around, go for it!
*Sonic annoyed you beyond belief. You're muttering to yourself while he runs off* Spine-head zinks he can come and mess with moi?! Unbelievable.
*Bunnie is being harassed by a robot. You're scared, but you go in to protect her.* N-n-now listen here you big, scary r-r-r-robot! I ANTOINE shall render you nozong (nothing) but scrap!
*You've just been knighted! It's something you've always dreamed of!* I could cry my princess! Zank (thank) you so much *Mwah*
Snively is Robotnik's right hand man. He's treated rather poorly and secretly resents him. He's pretty harmless, but hey, don't underestimate him. I imagine him with a high, shrill voice, but I'm open to interpretation.
*Robotnik is furious, you feel as if he's about to robotisize you!* *SHRIEEEEEEK!!* Don't do it to me cousin!! Think of all the times we've shared!! We're family!!
*Sonic has kicked your butt, humiliating you in front of all the other freedom fighters* Oh how humiliating.. I hope Robotnik doesn't skin me for this..
*This is your moment. You're finally getting rid of Robotnik! You'll be freed from his grasp!* yes! Finally Snively will be on top! The day is mine! Muahahah!
If I cast you in this role, I'll probably use you for small characters who don't reappear. You'll be casted as multiple roles, so it won't be a one time thing if you're worried about that. Who knows, you might even be cast as a much larger role as the series goes on.
*You're taunting Sonic as you trap him, so you're pretty smug* Haha spine-head! Looks like the day belongs to I, Tyranabot!
*As a random civilian, you cower in fear as Eggman threatens to blow up your town. Eventually you get upset and make an outburst* Please, what did we do to deserve this!? We've done nothing to you!
*Do a goofy voice haha* Oh boy Robotnik sure is a cool guy!
