Sondering Studio (Indie Game)
Project Overview
Opening:
We have two PAID openings for the demo of Sondering Studio’s next game. While we cannot share what it’s about yet, you can take a look at our previous game A Taste of the Past – we make heartfelt narrative games with a focus on Asian American representation. If you book these roles, this may result in future opportunities with our full game. If you don’t see a role for you, we will have future casting calls for this game.

Other Notes:You must have access to a home studio or place where you can record professional quality audio. We cannot provide equipment.
Selected VAs will have to sign an NDA for our game.

Once submissions are over on June 19th, it may take us up to 2 weeks to decide. We will email those selected.
We won’t send rejection emails to VAs that weren’t cast.
Please have clear audio with no background noise.
Please don’t edit the pitch of your voice or add other alterations. General clean-up is okay.
Two to three takes are preferred, but not required.

Age: This character will have lines from when she is in elementary school (around 8), middle school (around 12-14), and high school (around 16-17). Please note that some lines have been modified for this casting call.

Middle school: insecure, a bit lost, trying to figure out her identity
High school: a tad rebellious, good intentions but ignorant, angsty, has a lot to learn about life

age 12, disappointed, jaded: "So…she’s not coming like usual?"
age 16, builds in intensity: "Everyone expects the world out of me. People at school think I’m going to be like Izzy. Even grandpa, he thinks I’m going to be some brilliant scholar. But…when do I get to be me? When do I get to be a kid and I don’t know, find myself?"

Age: 60-80 (we don’t have an exact age for him, but he’s a grandpa to a 16 year old)
Accent: This character immigrated from China to the United States as an adult, so he will have a slight-mid Chinese accent. You MUST be able to speak Chinese convincingly (The character will only speak a few Chinese words. Any dialect is OK).
