Six Trapped - A Danganronpa-Esque Game

Six Trapped - A Danganronpa-Esque Game

Project Overview

Hello, people out there!

So, this project is something I've been wanting to work on for a while now. Originally, this was going to be a film at a camp I'm at, but we never finished it...so now, it's a game!

Anyways, this is a game called Six Trapped! Originally based off of Danganronpa: a murder-mystery visual novel game (I suggest learning about it before auditioning), but with a whole lot of differences, too! Some of the differences include:
1. The characters are all American.
2. There are only 6 students.
3. In addition to trials, there are a small amount of boss fights.
4. In between trials, multiple puzzle minigames that are canon to the story will happen as well.

Also, warning, to those who audition: this project may not end up having voice-actors. Originally, it was just going to be a text adventure on a website called ChooseYourStory, but I think through HTML, I could find a way to include voice acting and music as well. Also, three of the main characters have kind of been already cast to people who are my friends, so please don't be mad if you see that a good portion of them are cast to off-site actors. Keep in mind, this project may not have voice-acting at all. In fact, I would only recommend auditioning only if you know me personally, but feel free to try. For anyone who is my friend, and plans to audition, you don't have to post anything here, just e-mail a voice file to me, and I'll listen.

And now, for the plot of the game:
""Axel Brown gets picked out of a 1 in 1000 random lottery to go to a new resort park in Washington D.C. He is, of course, excited in every way. He sees this as the perfect opportunity to take a break from school. He arrives at a strange building that was nothing like was mentioned on the pamphlet, but doesn’t think much of it at first. He quickly meets 5 other people who all have...come for different reasons. A sports championship, a video game convention, a friend’s birthday party, a therapist appointment, and...something else unknown to him? This all seems very confusing to Axel, until everything comes clear when a very monotone voice on a speaker reveals that they are trapped here forever...unless someone kills someone else...and gets away with it. Soon after dismissing the idea as a joke, deaths start to occur, and Axel realizes this building brings much more than a vacation…"

That change in text there was from a copy-and-paste, sorry. Anyways, feel free to audition for as many people as you want. But, to have higher chances, don't audition for Unknown, Socio, or Jeff, as those are the ones that are casted to my personal friends. I know there says that there is a deadline, but there isn't really. You can keep auditioning after the deadline. Anyways, good luck!

Latest Updates

  • Cancelled, but not really

Wow. I feel really bad to have to make this update. I looked at all of your guys' auditions and really loved all of them. Really, I could have picked any one of them and would have been very satisfied with the choice. However, for a couple of reasons, mostly the fact that I don't feel very experienced enough to lead a project of this caliber, and the fact that really I have a lot of friends who could do most of the voices, I am stopping the project. In retrospect, some of the characters do seem a little cliché, so if I do ever come back to this project, which COULD happen, I feel as if their personalities will be edited to make them a little more original. Also, sorry to have to make this age-old excuse, but school does tend to get in the way of the things I have planned for this project. So, as of right now, this project will be put on hold until I feel like I could really tackle it. Sorry to anyone who put a lot of work into their auditions, and/or are sad/mad that this was cancelled, but I feel like this is for the best. You may still audition, and I may still look at them, but please know that right now, this project is not currently being made anymore. Maybe in a month from now, I'll go back and try to redo it, but as of right now, it is, well not really cancelled, but more postponed. Thank you for all of your auditions, and I'm sorry for any inconveniences.
  • Deadline pushed back a month again!

As of now, I have received a total of 30 auditions. Quite something for almost dead project. Thank you guys so much. Due to high school reasons, and personal issues, I’m extending the deadline. To be honest, don’t be surprised to see a multitude of deadline delays from here on out, even if there’s no update to follow. In spite of the plethora of auditions, still no one has auditioned for Alan Troxell. He is still very important to the story, so even if you think you don’t have the right voice type, or you just want another, more important role, please try and give it a shot. Of course, I could always cast one of my friends or someone from the original cast, or just cast someone who didn’t audition (even though I wouldn’t want to because I would like all of my cast members to really care about their role). I’m not forcing anyone, but I’m just saying, this role will most likely be cast to an off-site actor if no one decides to audition. Thank you guys so much for the surprising turnout, and I can say that this will be a great game.
  • Update

Wow. (Insert thing about how I was surprised by the number of people who auditioned.) Thank you guys so much. However, deadline for this project will be pushed back a little bit, mostly because I haven't gotten that many auditions for people, and one character doesn't have any auditions at all. Also, please be reminded, this project is just going to be a little side-thing I do. High school tends to get in the way of a lot of things. It may seem like I may be absent for a while, and the project is cancelled, but I can assure you this is not the case. Think of it as more time for auditions! Now, this is my first project, and I'm glad there's been a lot of responses. Alright guys, see you later!

Axel Brown

Axel Brown is the protagonist of this adventure. He is often really confused by the others and what is going on. He just wants best for everyone, and he hates it when people fight, because he knows that's what the Speaker wants. A bit like Makoto Naegi, but a bit more of a lower-voice, and a calmer one. He also sounds like he's always fearing what might come next. A permanent scared tone, to be exact. But besides that, he's your average protagonist (originality!)

  • My name's Axel Brown, and I currently have no idea what is going on.

  • The Speaker is our real enemy. Stop fighting!

  • No, that can't be it! (our version of No, that's wrong.)

The Kyoko to Axel's Makoto. We barely know anything about him, not even his own name. He is often seen disappearing for long periods of time, and is always late to morning meetings and things of the sort. He always talks in rhymes and riddles, and almost always has a calm and knowing voice. Bring a little bit more of funniness into his sassy lines, like the 2nd one.

  • Listen, if this is some kind of joke, it's not funny. It hasn't been.

  • Annoying as he is, I think we need him conscious.

  • On the contrary, names are some of the most powerful things in the world.

Alan Troxell

Alan is the cocky jock at your school. He plays for the Zebras at his high school and is the star quarterback, there. He is also somewhat of a delinquent, so make his voice sound like that. He once got expelled for vandalizing school property, and then punching the principal two times in the stomach. I want his voice to be somewhat deep, but also raspy, like a stereotypical jock would. The reason he came was for a football championship.

  • 'Sup, football nation. Alan's the name, and winning's my game.

  • I think you should come out and show yourself, you dumb coward!

  • You don't have proof, jackass!

Socio is an absolute, well, sociopath. He is extremely loud, and just screams random things for absolutely no reason. He has almost every form of mental disease, and has a large craving for sandwiches, of which he is obsessed with, and he originally came for a therapist appointment. Make his voice sound absolutely psychotic. His voice escalates from low to high in a matter of milliseconds. Also, make him funny.

  • I'M JOOOOHHHNNN JAAAACCKSSSON. BUT YOU CAN CALL ME SOCIO!

  • SANDWICHES ARE THE TRUE GODS OF THE UNIVERSE. BOW DOWN TO THEM, MORTAL.

  • WELL, I THINK IT WAS ONE OF YOU! DUN DUN DUN!

Jeff Leiner is somewhat of an uber nerd, while also being very smart. The reason he came was for some sort of video game convention. Like Hifumi, he makes constant references to video games and shows, so yeah, make sure you understand the references. His voice could count nasally, like an average nerd, but if you have any other ideas that would make him sound somewhat realistic, go ahead!

  • Hello every nerd out there! I'm Jeff Leiner, AKA, The One Who Knocks. (Breaking Bad Reference)

  • Ahh, health low! Need heart container! (Zelda Reference)

  • So, you're saying...it's a trap?! (Star Wars Reference)

Ben Doaver (yes, that is his actual name, and yes, we know it's stupid.) came to this for a self-proclaimed birthday party. He is pretty much always laid back, and his extremely tall as well. His parents probably hated him for naming him this way.  He doesn't really care that much about what is going on, and he sleeps frequently. I want his voice to sound like someone who doesn't really believe in the killing game, and also likes to party. (Just realized, he may sound a lot like Yasuhiro, lol).

  • Hi! I'm Ben Doaver...just ignore my name, dude. I already know.

  • You going for a Pulitzer or something, man?

  • That has got to be a coincidence!

Our Monokuma! From the voice, you can tell that a small female child is the one talking into a loudspeaker. They are the ones behind the whole killing game. I want her to sound innocent and funny, but can also sound menacing. I will be using the same voice for the Puppetmaster (the real human behind the killing game). She sounds a lot crazier than her, though. They both have a big secret about them, obviously, but that won't be revealed until the end!

  • (give me your best creepy child giggle)

  • I am your worst nightmare.

  • And now, the moment we've all been waiting for...your EXECUTION!

Axel's Mother

Axel's mother only appears in the prologue, and I believe towards the very end. For her, as she is a single mom, I want her to sound flustered, yet, also caring and motherly, like all mothers should. Also, make sure to have a good "desperate voice".

  • Congratulations, Axel! Have fun at the resort!

  • (Give me your best sincere cry. Make her sound genuinely sad. This is for a very important scene.)

Lottery Announcer

This is the person who announces the fact that Axel has one the lottery. He only has about two lines, so yeah, if I use you, you've basically done your part. Make him sound energetic, like those announcer people on game shows that always tell you the name of the main host every episode.

  • And now...the winner of the lottery isssss...ticket number #0382!

  • I think we're all secretly jealous of this here young man, right, folks?

She only appears for a couple of lines, like the announcer. She's a part of a scene where Axel is filmed before he goes to the resort. Make her sound somewhat passive-aggressive, but I would also like her to sound like a normal woman, too.

  • In 5...4...3...2...

  • If you could be a bit more energetic, then that would be OK.
