Project Overview

Shattered is a Pokemon Sword & Shield AU twist resolving around Leon after the events of Champion Cup. A angst tale of loss, heartache and learning to forgive and move on. This project is meant to give awareness as well as help people understand that you don't have to face these pains alone. Contains themes of depression, death, suicide and triggers. I also contains some spoilers to Pokemon Sword & Shield, but most is fanon based.

Leon is the main character of this story, who turns into a shut in after the tragedy that happened to his little brother, Hop. Leon's voice should be of lower male tone, but still have the feel of a young adult. He is shown to be encouraging in the canon, but here he is more depressed, angry and has his head in the clouds. He gradually feels better as the story progresses, turning him back to his normal encouraging self.

  • (Lifeless, tired and cold tone) “Go ahead, cry. You were always like that from day 1, a crybaby who always cling onto me whenever things go wrong. Don’t you think I need some privacy once in a while?”

  • (Angry and fed up) “If you know so damn well, why are you even asking me?! It’s been a total piece of crap! There! Are you happy?! Is that so difficult to perceive?? Why do you even ask me when you can see it right away?!”

  • (Comforting understanding tone) “…You were in pain, weren’t you? Bearing all those responsibilities along with the agony… Don’t be sorry. None of it was your fault.”

Hop is the younger brother of Leon, who later dies from committing suicide, after feeling like a burden to his own brother. Hop should be sound like a a young teen male for the most part. And although he is portrayed as the enthusiastic kid in canon, Hop in this story will mostly be seen as sad boy.

  • (excited) “That was such an amazing match! It gave me a chill! I never expected anything less from you, though!”

  • (shaken and sad, but trying to be strong) “Lee, please…! I… I really mean what I said… You will always be my…”

  • (calm) Goodbye, Lee. I love you. I always will. Your burden is now off…

Kabu is the Fire Type Gym Leader of Motostoke Stadium, and the greatest support to Leon for the majority of the story. His voice should be around young adult to middle age low male tone voice. Like older but a bit more energy to know enough that he isn't too old. Kabu is the most understanding and comforting character, and should feel the same when giving people advice.

  • (blunt and honest as he sighs) “Please don’t smile like that. Suppressing your emotions doesn’t help sometimes, especially when things are as grim as this.”

  • (patient and understanding) “Take your time. We have lots of it. The first step of anything is the most difficult of all.”

  • (calm) “Then why don’t you bring some food once in a while? If not, zip it. Besides, it isn’t even for you, Raihan. Why are you eating and judging it anyway?”

Raihan is the Dragon Type Gym Leader of the Hammerlocke Stadium as well as Leon's long time rival. He was one of the people who was present on the day of Hop's tragedy. Raihan has a low male tone young adult voice. In canon, Raihan can often be stubborn, which sometimes can get away with expressing how he really feels, and would act irrationally as a result.

  • (acts confused but trying to avoid the topic in a calm tone) “I was nothing but a rival. You know what that means, right? I did nothing but battles. Never really spoke from heart to heart.”

  • (angry) “Why didn’t you tell me or anyone anything until things got this bad, huh?!”

  • (blunt but a little frustrated in the tone) “It isn’t us who saved you.”

Bede is the Fairy Type Gym Leader of Ballonlea Stadium as well as Victor's rival. He has a young male teen voice, which has a tone of sass mixed into it. In the canon, Bede was normally a very stuck up kid who brushes people off, but in this story that breaks off as he apologizes for his rudeness towards Hop in the past.
