Project Overview

"Heeeeeyyy… Hiya. Just a random question, but you know what a majority vote is?

---------
Hey there! I hope you're having a great day/night/afternoon etc! We're a fandubbing studio that focuses mainly on three fandoms; Danganronpa, My Hero Academia, and Fire Emblem Three Houses. Right now, we're going to try and add YTTD comic dubs too! Of course, due to not wanting an overly large cast, we'll be looking for people who can take on more than one role.

The above video features Danganronpa characters, because Your Turn to Die is our newest fandom, and have no comics posted as of yet, which is why we're asking for your help!

----------

What we are looking for

❖ Have a good microphone (Minimal to no background noise)

❖ You must be 16+ in order to be in the project since we do not want to have younger kids if our age group may consist with older ages that may involve cursing, etc.

❖ You must have discord, when you audition, please put your Discord Username so if we cast you, we can immediately send you a request!

❖ Be able to meet deadlines, if you have personal life problems, or you are very busy, please let us know 24 hours before the deadline is due

----------

A brief overview of YTTD/KGS, taken from the wiki!

"Sara Chidouin and her best friend Joe Tazuna are kidnapped and find themselves trapped in a facility with nine other people. There they're put in various dangerous situations as part of a Death Game. With no other option, they go along with their kidnappers and must choose who will die using majority vote. "

Latest Updates

  • Regarding casting;

Hello everyone! We're sorry about not being able to cast, as much as we'd like to, the project went on hiatus shortly before the deadline was reached because of IRL problems with some of the directors. Once that gets fixed, we'll try to get the casting moving along faster. Feel free to continue to submit auditions, but I won't be listening to them for a while. I'll send an update as soon as I can.

Sara Chidouin

Sara is described by her fellow participants as 'strong and dependable' on more than one occasion. Her "samurai" attitude and strong 'take charge, take responsibility' mindset proves her to be a trustworthy and dependable ally to the others. As a result, she's admired especially by those in the younger group and is often referred to as 'Big Sis Sara' by Gin.

While Sara is a key player within the Death Game, she also suffers through her own self-doubt where she often believes that she is none of the things that those around her commend her of being. At times, she is also plagued with selfish thoughts about saving herself and sacrificing the other contestants for her own safety, but she snaps out of it and stays steady in her conviction to save everyone.

Additionally, while Sara can distrust or doubt some of the other participants, she continues to remain mature and work along with everyone as best as she can, always staying dedicated in her goal to beat the Death Game.

  • "(I do want to question people, but…) / (I’m kind of worried about her…) (I’ll start with who I’m most concerned about.)"

  • "Finally, my head was starting to clear. There are 11 people in here, including myself... All of us are wearing collars..."

  • "The campus pond. There's a rumor that if you look into it at midnight, your reflection will talk to you... Could be a great thing to a loner."

Joe Tazuna

Joe is an extremely upbeat, excitable, considerate and loyal person. He is easily embarrassed when others misinterpret him and is sensitive to how people perceive his appearance. Like Sara, Joe puts in all his efforts to help the group succeed in the puzzles. He consistently convinces the group to believe in Sara and her abilities and generally places most of his trust to her. Though he is described as gaudy by Reko Yabusame and has a small habit of saying the wrong things at the wrong time, Joe is genuinely kind hearted and sensitive to others' feelings.

Although not academically one of the smartest in the group, he does provide occasional insights.

Despite his constant optimism and belief in others, Joe is not incapable of suspicion, as he was the first to suggest the presence of a traitor among the participants. Furthermore, while reluctant and torn over what winning the Main Game would mean, he was willing to go through with it, up until Sara exposed his true role.

  • "Me and Sara are high school classmates. Sara was being harassed by a stalker, so I went home with her that day. Then there was an incident, so I called the police, but…  I heard Sara screaming, so I ran upstairs. And there stood that damn stalker!"

  • "Oh! I think I’ve seen you in magazines! You’re THE Reko Yabusame?!"

  • "You stuck around this late for clubs?! I was gonna wither up from waiting!"

Keiji Shinogi

Keiji is shown to be pretty casual and level-headed during the Death Game, though he comes off as shady to some of the participants. He usually refers to himself as "the friendly policeman" in an effort to establish himself as trustworthy and makes a pretense of being less cunning than he really is.

He's observant and canny and is quite good at reading other people and knows when to speak up and when to leave them be.

He's also encouraging and gentle with the younger participants, making it his job to at least keep watch over Gin.

To become a police officer in Japan a person must at least be a high school graduate and must pass a national exam. Once these requirements are met the person must undergo a year of training which consists of classroom, field and physical training in order to prepare them for work as an officer.[4]

Keiji worked with Megumi Sasahara on the police force in the past. He once shot a person while working on the job and hasn't been able to fire a gun since the incident.

  • "Hey, you can keep it simple. Name and occupation… Just take turns sayin’ em.  [...] Mm, got it. The wary ones can be for later. Raise your hand if you don’t mind blabbin’."

  • "You got it. So don’t trouble your friendly policeman. …Well, not that I’m really that sort of cop.  [...] I got abducted in the middle of an investigation. It was tough to find a chance to spill it."

  • "Huh, did I not introduce myself? My name's Keiji Shinogi. Workin' as a policeman."

Kanna Kizuchi
open
Unpaid

Kanna tends to refer to herself in the third person, indicating a certain level of childishness, though she makes an effort to correct herself sometimes when she catches herself.

She is very trusting and naive, and believes in Shin despite knowing he manipulated her in the past. She can seem timid but is actually quite unafraid to speak her thoughts. While she was at first referred to as 'Frightened Girl' in Sara's internal alias, this does not appear to be the norm. When she was exploring the third floor with Shin she firmly lectured him for weakly wanting more breaks.

Kanna is fairly dependent on those with stronger personalities and often relies on other people for help, due to the self-belief that she is incapable of helping herself or others.

Despite being one of the most vulnerable and unstable of the group, Kanna tries her best to be helpful and demonstrates bravery, the initiative to act, and a willingness for self-sacrifice.

She has also shown some cleverness in how to figure out the password to Kai's laptop when Shin was at a loss, and simply lacks the self-confidence to understand her own value. This is also supported by chapter three. If she's alive it explains that Kanna was aware of Shin fabricating her sister's dying message, but took it to mean that he genuinely cared about her feelings.

  • "I was disoriented… so I didn’t hear what everyone else said. But you and Joe… and Mishima and Nao… You all had the same trial, right…? Kanna…Could Kanna… have saved her?"

  • "…I was coming home… with my big sister… We were eating ice cream… We were just walking along and talking… about what to have for dinner...Suddenly... some scary people came out from a black car parked on the road…

  • "After... I came here...my... sister... my sister...aaahhh.... AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! SHE'S DEAD! My sister! Why?! How?! It's my fault!! My sister!! WAAAAAAAAAAHHH!"

Q-Taro Burgerberg
open
Unpaid

While he doesn't initially appear to be much more than friendly and easygoing, Q-taro can be incredibly selfish and prioritizes his own survival over most other things in the Death Game. He's easily manipulated by anything that would secure his life (ie. tokens) and rarely acts in a way anyone would call "selfless" during the Death Game.

He is also very anxious about many situations in the death game, as evidenced by his need for a lengthy debate to decide the Challenger during Russian Roulette. His fear and anxiety drives him to do even more impressively selfish things, such as taking the solitary-escape in a bad ending.

Further contrasting his appearance, Q-taro is actually rather intelligent. While probably not academically gifted, Q-taro is good with people and can make them act in ways that benefit him.

This is demonstrated in the second Main Game, where he collaborated with Keiji on a plan to ensure their survival that possibly even fooled Shin.

Another notable example of Q-taro's social intelligence is his accusation of KannaGin, and Nao of being useless in the first Main Game. Due to the accusation, Gin and Nao both proved their worth and avoided being chosen in the preliminary vote. This was very likely Q-taro's intention, as he is visibly shocked when Kanna decides to accept her death.

  • "I don’t got a clue where I was born ‘neither! Had parents, but off they went ‘fore I could remember ‘em. Still, my nationality’s Japanese! …Dunno about the dialect, but it’s a mix."

  • "I’mma pitcher. Confident in my batting too, an’ I was lucky enough to go to Central League."

  • "What's... wrong with that...? I ain't done anything unfair!! I'm jus' usin' a right I earned fair and square... so I can go outside first! An' I'm gonna call for help! It's a hell of a lot more realistic than rebelling against who knows how many kidnappers! I got no intention of leavin' you guys to die!! I ain't gonna trouble ya...! Please, lemme go, Sara...!!"

Sou Hiyori

At first introduction, Sou is generally friendly but a bit standoffish. He's secretive due to being distrustful of the other participants. Despite this, he helps everyone discover secrets about where they're trapped.

Sou is canny and intelligent, but due to his suspicious nature, has a habit of jumping to negative conclusions, especially in regards to Sara. He cannot comprehend Sara's charisma and is both resentful and envious of how she manages to gain the others' trust.

Survival is his main priority, and with knowledge of his survival rates (provided by the organization), his previous personality snaps and warps to what he believes would better serve his continued existence. This also means lying to achieve whatever ends, and skillfully at that.

He is a skilled computer hacker and appears to care for Kanna Kizuchi, during the attractions Sub-Game and onward. To watch over Sou, Kanna takes up the habit of sleeping in the same room as him and they appear to grow close during this time. Regardless, Sou has no problem tricking and manipulating her or the others to ensure his life is safe and his plans are realized.

  • "Naturally, I was wary like Joe was… Plus, saying I’m a job-hopper… is a little embarrassing. Ahaha…"

  • "Ahahahaha! Amazing, miss Sara. You're a prodigy at seizing people's hearts! Shameful, the rest of you. The riffraff. Don't you value your lives? Don't you doubt when others are kind? Do you not even have brains to think for yourself? Death is just a matter of time for you! That's the way weaklings live! Hahahaha!"

  • "Gosh… feels like you’re asking in such a “first things first” way.  I was on the way to my usual part-time job at a convenience store. It’s a bad part of town… and I was aware of how dangerous it could be at night… But the night shift wages are good… so.  Suddenly, someone attacked me. I can’t remember what else happened then."

Reko Yabusame

Role assigned to: Whizzy

Reko seems intimidating and assertive, appearing rough around the edges, especially in comparison to her milder female companions such as Nao and Kanna. However, she's generally friendly and has a "big sister" vibe.  She seems to act kinder to those who may be seen as "weak"; this is shown when Reko immediately comforts Kanna when hearing about her sister and treats her more gently. Though, apparently, this was a change to her previous personality before Alice was arrested for murder. Alice also describes Reko as having always been overflowing with talent and charisma from an early age. And that she's a much more put-together person than he is.

However, Reko tends to be quick to panic and is afraid of the dark and superstitious of things like ghosts. She is known for alternating between the masculine pronoun "ore" and the more neutral pronoun "watashi." She has great reflexes and has a great memory.

  • "I finished a new track, so I had plans to meet with my bandmates… and then this shit happens!! "

  • "…Naturally, all my stuff’s gone. / My precious bongos, my phone, my wig… It’s all gone! [...] Goddamn kidnapper! If you threw out my stuff, I’m gonna beat your ass so hard…!"

  • "Cut it out! Don’t say that shit! Did you mean to hurt her?! ‘Course not, right?! Sure, Mishima was the first to lie…! And I dunno if that was right or not…!  But guess what?! There was hope in Kanna’s eyes! You know how hard it is to show hope to a person who’s heart’s been snapped…?!"

She is initially timid and shy and primarily stays with her teacher Professor Mishima, whom she idolizes to the extent of wanting to stand in anyone's way if they say negative things about him.

However, throughout the game, she gains immense mental strength and displays that she is no longer easily manipulated when the dolls try to obtain information from her.
Nao was born and raised by a very ordinary, middle-class family. Throughout school, she had somewhat below average grades but during high school discovered a passion and love for art, and begun to focus solely on that. She has great admiration for her high school art teacher, Kazumi Mishima, and even after graduation she has kept a deep bond with him and is also often seen going to his atelier. She doesn't appear to have many friends, but those she does have she holds very dearly and has had them for a long time. She tends to refrain from going out at night, generally staying at home even on days off.

She has little experience with sports, limited to compulsory PE. She has poor reflexes, but due to her inclination towards art, she has exceptional eyesight. She can remember a scene for a long time and is able to recognize the individual flaps of a bird's wings, and while this ability is within reason, it is still very impressive. Since much of this comes from practice, the only thing that can be called natural talent is her passionate love for art. She has a minimal desire for money.

  • "My memory of being brought here… Sorry… It’s the same story as the professor’s. I lost consciousness in the car at a security checkpoint… Other than that… About all I remember is the First Trial."

  • "I… Professor Mishima instructed me to use the sandpaper on the key… then I unlocked his restraints. / Honestly… it was thanks to him I was able to stay calm…"

  • "I don’t like Keiji, but I kind of like you, Sara. "

Role assigned to: KGOKev

Kai is described as having the beauty of a woman. He has a slender build, shoulder-length black hair parted down the middle and dark eyes. Kai often has a blank, inexpressive face.  He wears a red-orange apron given to him by the Chidouin family over a long-sleeved black changshan. Kai's usually seen holding various kitchen utensils behind his back, specifically a ladle, spatula, and frying pan.

Kai has a seemingly aloof and absentminded nature. He's often quiet, even during intense discussions and accusations. Because of his quiet nature, he isn't considered to be much of a person of interest to the group. Though like the others, he makes it apparent that he wishes to try his best to contribute to their advancement, even if his withdrawn demeanor and weird aura put Sara off.

While working for the Chidouin family, he developed a soft and caring side for them, particularly for Sara, and decided to go against his group. He attempted to stop the Death Game from starting up, or at least protect Sara, but ended up failing.

  • "Oh, the frying pan and whatnot. They were in a room I was in earlier. [...] I felt they could offer protection. Ah…  It didn’t even occur to me. Would you… like to use one?"

  • "Me…? I’m glad you find me dependable, but… Should you not ask Joe? He’s a friend who knows you well, yes?"

  • "Earlier… I neglected to thank you. Allow me to state my gratitude for taking on such an important role. Thank you very much for saving us amid such great pressure. [...] Miss Sara, you are no average high schooler. Keiji noted that you are clear-headed… But what’s truly superb is your heart. Indeed, you have a mind of steel. However… Overdoing it brings harm to yourself. …You must not shoulder too much."

Gin Ibushi

Gin is a 12-year-old boy of somewhat average height and weight. He wears denim shorts, a grey t-shirt, a grey medical mask and a cape with a hood on it made to look like cat ears. He also wears cat paw mittens and pawed shoes and carries around a cat cushion which he very affectionately calls 'Mew-chan'.

Gin tries to remain positive and optimistic in the situation that he has found himself and the other participants in. He shows that he trusts others easily and believes in most of the people that he meets. It's very rare to see Gin looking down or sad. He is very clingy and gets attached to those he meets and gives them nicknames. He becomes especially attached to Sara, and views her as a completely trustworthy and kind sibling figure. While he may be young, Gin always attempts his best to help the group by finding clues and remains strong despite the circumstances.

Gin Ibushi is a student at Heiwa Elementary, he is in Class 6-3. He takes care of the class animals. He says he doesn’t find school fun because he doesn’t like some of the other students, but still thinks it's fun to meet up with friends and play together. He actually doesn’t wear his in-game outfit to school because teachers and other students don't approve of it and get mad at him, so he only wears it at home. This causes some problems for Gin as he finds it easier to communicate and talk to people when he wears his outfit, so he ends up feeling a bit uneasy at school. As he abides by this rule, he’s thought of as obedient by his classmates, but Gin himself disagrees.

  • "Of course, meow! Don’t think I’m just a regular kid, woof! I’ll definitely make that kidnapper pay, meow! [...] Mya… Woof! You seem nice, big sis Sara! I’m okay trusting you, meow!"

  • "…J-Just a little longer, meow… It was just for a little bit… but… We were searching together, woof…"

  • "Umm... While I've been doing attractions and exploring... The Mew-chan cushion I'm always holding has gotten dirty, meow! They're my partner, meow! I want you to help, woof!"

Kazumi Mishima

Being a little odd, Mishima often puffs mad scientist laughs after sentences, and his emotions often conflict with his appearance. Mishima seems to enjoy acting strange to amuse others, behaving cryptic and overly analytical of everyone's actions. His unusual social quirks aside, Mishima makes it clear he has no ill intentions and frequently reminds others to be safe and cautious. Despite appearances, Mishima is an incredibly kind, caring and encouraging person. After his A.I. self learned about how much suffering Nao was going through after his death, he could only blame himself for it. He deeply regrets not being able to live longer, because he truly just wanted to protect Nao. He also regrets not being able to live on to see Nao continue to grow, as well as his other students.

He's shown to not only be caring towards Nao though, but he also shows great concern for Kanna and even helps to spur her onward towards hope, albeit by lying about the circumstances of the first trial.

Not much is known about Mishima's life, though his A.I. self mentions only two major points in his life; these being the day he became a teacher and Nao Egokoro's graduation. Even after Nao's graduation, she still visits his atelier to learn more about art from him. He greatly cares for Nao and their bond is incredibly strong.

  • "Pardon… You see, she is a former student of mine. Please forgive her...  [...] I suppose my appearance is shady after all… How shocking."

  • "Of course, surely there have been times I’ve been disliked by students… but... No, no student would cause such an incident. So I’d like to believe… For after all, as you can see, I even have students who come to visit me after graduation… Mwahaha. I believe we made it through the First Trial thanks to our combined knowledge, as well."

  • "There’s nothing to fear in failure. A person’s life does not end there. As long as you live on… Happiness will surely come to you!"

Gonbee Yamada/Alice Yabusame

Alice has a "gaudy hairstyle," as opined by Sara; separated into two parts, the right side has long blue hair and the left side is shaved close to his head and colored into magenta and yellow stripes. He wears a striped prison uniform that is frayed at the collar and sleeves, and handcuffs on his left arm. He also has a ball and chain wrapped around his waist.

Alice has a short fuse and is one of the few participants that has little trust for the rest of the group. Because of his attitude in that no one can be trusted, he tends to go off on his own and often pushes others away when they want to work or talk to him. He is quite aggressive in the way he speaks, but with enough persuasion and trust he can be kind and helpful.

His mother tried to raise him like he was a girl during his childhood. Because of this, he often speaks in a feminine manner.

Alice is introduced after the rest of the participants, as soon as the game begins. After Sara finds him hiding in a locker in the red room, he passes out and has to be carried to the Lobby. Once awake he gives the alias "Gonbee Yamada", by request of Reko - who is actually his younger sister, and is very suspicious of Sara after hearing her shooting the dummies in the blue room. His true identity and relation to Reko is revealed in the first Main Game, as his name and "occupation" (murderer) are found on a torn piece of paper.

May 7th update: I'm looking for a medium-deep voice for Alice. I've been seeing a lot of higher pitched Alices, and while they're great, I'm looking for something deeper!

  • "Just so it’s clear, you and me are equals. Don’t think I’ll obediently listen to you."

  • "Fool… Japanese uniforms don’t use this pattern! And the pajamas are vertically striped."

  • "…A path… I’ve long since passed up such a thing… Even so, I stubbornly lived on. Because I thought someday… my parents, or Reko, would repay me… There’s… no path anymore…"

Ranmaru Kageyama

Ranmaru was one of the 20 participants forced into the Death Game, he was alone, and died during the First Trial from something unknown that caused a large wound on his stomach. Before he died he describes that he had been feeling no pain, possibly indicating that he had become numb to it in the end.

Ranmaru is a casual and easy-going boy. He is generally placid in nature, although occasionally flustered, such as when Sara holds his hand. He seems to come off as nervous or awkward in certain situations. Ranmaru also tries to keep quiet and distant until provoked.

He is shown to be compassionate and expresses a want to be useful to the others.

After his death, Ranmaru's AI was uploaded into a doll that looked identical to him in order for him to help the Death Game participants during the third chapter. He was paired with Sara as her support.

From what is shown in Chapter 3 so far, he has an awkward demeanor to him when he meets Sara for the first time, and is nervous to be her pair. He's willing to work with Sara and help her solve puzzles or fight in battles. At times he appears a bit flustered by Sara, for example when she holds his hand to enter the Discussion Room, he's surprised and blames her for being so nervous when she tells him not to worry about it, else he wastes his battery power.

  • "Can't stand it...We have to support these guys...?"

  • "Uhh, Sara, was it? I'm Ranmaru. I'm in high school like you."

  • "...It's about these red threads on our collars that connect us... If the people in a pair get some distance apart, their collars activate and their heads fly off. [...] Well... Actually, that's only for us supports. Your collar won't activate, Sara."

Role assigned to: Whizzy

Mai comes across as a friendly though flirtatious person, being talkative and excitable, though occasionally obliviously making remarks that may make people uncomfortable; such as asking Sara to rub her cheek to compare the materials used to construct her doll-form. She tries her best to help the group, though sometimes her ideas lack foresight; especially shown in the optional bad ending in which she lights a firework inside of a library to fight monsters, leading the room to be engulfed in flame with no exit.

Despite this, Mai like the rest of the dolls were given the task to kill their partner to be able to live. She’s the first person to take up this task, stabbing Q-taro in the back and smiling as she does so. It’s later suspected that all the dolls were awaiting the perfect moment to kill their partners, which can be backed up as Mai was often seen close to Q-taro during the investigative periods.

In her first trial, Mai is shown to be panicked to the point of sobbing, and unable to make a decision, decided to go with random choice to decide her fate.

After her death, Mai's AI was uploaded into a doll that looked identical to her in order for her to help the Death Game participants during the third chapter. She was paired with Q-taro as his support.

Mai, only being a dummy only has some goals. To live, you must murder your master before the Floor Master, Midori dies. Mai took this opportunity to talk to Q-Taro in the Graveyard, after everyone went off to finally track down Midori. Mai stabbed Q-Taro in the back with the knife from the Boxing Ring mini-game earlier in the chapter. Mai cheerfully celebrates, explaining to Q-Taro the plan. Which convinces him to only knock her out, feeling bad for her situation as a support. Mai would always flirt with Q-Taro, mainly to get his trust, and to be ignored more easily. It's unclear if Mai actually wanted to be friends with Q-Taro since she gets knocked unconscious.

  • "Eeeee! Sara, you're just so cuuute! Relax! We're on your side!"

  • "If you tell me what your type is, then I'll tell you what I know!"

  • "Well, it's about us... Our real selves died in the first trial. [...] And we were shown these Victim Video things... That showed the moment of our deaths."

In her final moments alive, Hinako is shown thanking Rio Ranger after realizing he had a part in her death, revealing that she had wanted to die.

Hinako has a blunt way of speaking and somewhat of a fatalist mindset; stating "there's no way to deal with this" in the face of Hayasaka's near-death. Remarked by Gin to be "kinda violent", Hinako easily comes up with solutions for fighting the monsters they encounter, and always offers to fight whatever's in the group's way.

She is rather strategic and thinks before speaking; stating her means of defense against the Death Game is keeping the information she has to herself for the time being, not wanting to be used by the others.

Hinako is revealed to have died during her First Trial, it ended in her being lifted or strung up with severe bloody wounds. As seen via the Victim Video Rio Ranger enters the room mocking her in her final moments, saying he wouldn't need her clothes after her death. However, she thanks him saying that all she wanted was death. Ranger becomes livid because she had the audacity to thank him, saying that she should be suffering. Out of anger Rio Ranger beats her dead body.

After her death, Hinako's AI was uploaded into a doll that looked identical to her in order for her to help the Death Game participants during the third chapter. She was paired with Keiji as his support.

  • "It's no use struggling now..."

  • "...I bet that guy fled to the furthest ends of this floor."

  • "Oh yeah, I'll tell you a piece of info. The requirement for us being chosen as supports... It's that we're dead people, who never had any contact with you survivors. I heard 8 people died in the first trial, so 2 of them must've already known survivors..."

Hayasaka is a rather anxious and submissive man that periodically speaks in a stutter, usually accompanied by nervous laughter.

Afraid of the monsters that come to attack, he does his best to help fend them off with the others.

His kindness and humanity is expressed with how distraught he is when Gin risks his life to save him; considering as a Dummy, his life isn't destructible.

Hayasaka's victim video is found in Miley's Room, unlike the rest of the victim videos which were sold in the Prize Exchange. He appeared to be one of the participants that died in the First Trial, though it's unknown how he was supposed to escape and it appeared to be an execution instead. Before he was killed via a swinging blade, he curses out Sara's name and the organization running the death game.

Hayasaka is paired up with Gin Ibushi once he is revived for the sub-game. Like all of the other dolls, he awoke with knowledge of the situation and one piece of special information, though unaware of the circumstances of his death barring the victim video he appears in. Hayasaka, the moment he is paired with Gin, states that since Gin is a child, he will have to protect him; but Gin reverses this, claiming that Hayasaka looks weak. The power dynamic quickly shifts towards Gin having the upper hand and the two bond slightly throughout the early phases of the chapter. Once the locker room is reached, Shunsuke is unexpectedly brought to the ceiling forcefully by magnets in his collar, essentially nearly hanging him, but is soon freed.

  • "T... This is desecration of the dead... Let me go back home..."

  • "I'm Hayasaka... H...Hoo boy... A kid, huh..."

Kurumada is brusque and does not trust people easily. He tends to banter with others and occasionally refer to them dismissively.

Kurumada was one of the 20 participants forced into the Death Game, he was alone. His First Trial involved running to a red button while two walls closed in on either side of him. He was unable to reach the button in time and ended up crushed.

After his death, Kurumada's AI was uploaded into a doll that looked identical to him in order for him to help the Death Game participants during the third chapter. He was paired with either Kanna or Shin as their support (depends on who died in the second Main Game).

  • "Bwahaha... Well, fine by me. So? Which one of you's my partner?"

  • "Oh yeah, but really, I should tell you. 'Parently there's monsters lurking on this floor."

  • "Probably just dolls, really, but it'll spell tragedy if we don't get weapons. You ever been in a fight? [...] Then you have your fluffy-mop buddy give 'em hell. Maybe if you give 'im a good smooch, he'll work his butt off for ya."

Anzu has trouble comprehending and adapting to high stress situations and reverts to calling for help even where it seems unlikely.

She says that she loves dressing up as a clown but is insecure about this and immediately asks Sara if she thinks she's weird after revealing her clown endeavors

Through buying one of the victim videos found in the gift shop, it's revealed that Anzu was one of the participants that were killed during the first trial. It's unknown how her trial was supposed to work, but she was trapped by chains by her feet until the spikes around her closed and brutally killed her. After her death Rio Ranger donned the unique golden-yellow hood Anzu once wore.

After her death, Anzu's AI was uploaded into a doll that looked identical to her in order for her to help the Death Gameparticipants during the third chapter.

She is paired with either Reko or Alice as their support (depends on who died during the final attraction).

If you mention that her hood looks familiar she will angrily state that Rio Ranger stole it from her after dying in the First Trial.

  • "Ooooh... Just the worst way to wake up..."

  • "Waugh, my partner's a murderer?! I... I'm Anzu...  Be gentle... Ahaha..."

  • "Oh! Let's be friends! We're about the same age, right? Urk! You're judging my outfit, aren't you?! You think I'm... Weird!"

When Kanna was adopted by her parents, Kugie made her dislike for her very clear, leading for Kanna to run away from the household at one point. After Kugie found Kanna with a boy, who she presumed was teasing or picking on her, they began to fix their relationship.

It's implied through Kanna's self-introduction that they became closer over time and spoke to each other more. It's also implied that she trusted Kanna highly enough to save her in their first trial, though this later showed to fail through Kanna's panicking.

One day Kanna couldn't take her sisters bullying any longer so ran away from home, sitting in a park with a bucket on her head. Kugie had looked for Kanna and finds her with a boy who she misunderstood to be teasing her. When Kugie took Kanna back home they began to fix their relationship and started to get along.

Kanna and Kugie were walking home one day, eating ice cream and talking about what to have for dinner, when people had jumped out from a black car parked across the road.

When they both woke up they began their first trial, "The Two Person Vote", where both her and Kanna were strapped down to beds and given a time limit of five minutes to escape. Kugie gave Kanna the key, allowing her to set herself free, but became panicked when she didn't know what to do resulting in Kugie's bed folding and thus crushing her to death.

A phone is later found in Kanna's and Kugie's first trial room with a message of hatred wrote on it. It was decoded to be a falsely wrote message soon after it's discovery, however.

  • "...What're you always laughing for?  ...You're creepy. I hate it."

  • "How dare you put a bucket on her head and tease her!! Beat it, you!! Liar!! Kanna's crying, isn't she?! D-Don't... be so cruel to my little sister!! "

  • "...So you cry too, Kanna.......... Kanna... I'm sorry... Mom and dad are worried, so let's get home quick, okay?"

Megumi appeared as a kind, smart, and possibly analytical woman, not straying from being able to tell what a young Keiji's strengths and weaknesses were.

Despite this she had a nonchalant demeanour around her, shown best when a young Keiji confronted her about making a backroom deal to save him from being fired. She was also described as shady by unknown police officers, assumingly having done similar things in the past.

In the past, Megumi was the detective of an unnamed department and the boss of Keiji Shinogi. During chapter three it's revealed that Megumi had some type of shady past which got a police officer fired once he found out

At an unknown point in time, Keiji accidentally shot and killed a criminal, misinformed and believing that the criminal was armed and dangerous, when this wasn't true. Megumi was there at the scene that day and, as there was a lack of witnesses to prove otherwise, made a background deal with the police department to allow Keiji to keep his job.

  •  "Good to meet you too. I'm Megumi Sasahara...I suppose this makes me your trainer."

  • "Well, well... Pretty impressive for your age, Shinogi...But you might be a bit too serious. Even if you have stamina, you have to think about how to spend it, or it won't last."

  • "...That's just what the law says. You've done nothing wrong. [...] ......So what? Get back to your duty. You're police."

Role assigned to: CroakyTheFrog

Although Miley is called "The Laughing Doll", she isn't as friendly as her name seems to hint.

Miley is sadistic; enjoys seeing the participants in the death game suffer, and even goes as far to torment them by dangling hope before crushing it. She enjoys toying with their despair as the participants start questioning their chances of survival.

Miley also has her own plans and agenda, dropping valuable clues to Sara even as she mocks her. She doesn't care about Sara personally, but she derives amusement in seeing how she and the other participants will react to unexpected information.

After three of the keys from the First Trial are used on a small yellow box, Miley's head falls out revealing a note, requesting to be put together. The participants of the death game, excluding Nao Egokoro, Reko Yabusame, and an unconscious Kanna Kizuchi would begin looking around the first floor for doll limbs. After Sara and Sou venture the first floor they are both able to find the arms, body, and legs, gathering everyone together to put together the doll. White smoke fills up the room after the head is placed onto Miley, and when said smoke clears up a standing Miley appears in front of the participants.

After this occurs a vote is held to practice the use of 'majority vote'. After the votes are brought in, Miley executes Kazumi Mishima via an electric collar which burns through his neck, leaving a stunned Nao heartbroken through the rest of the chapter. After she makes fun of Kanna, Kai Satou hits her face with one of his frying pans, leaving her bleeding and swearing revenge.

Miley next appears in the main game where she supervises the executions. After the final vote, Miley executes Joe Tazuna, par to him being the sacrifice, using blood-sucking tubes. Before starting his execution Miley hands Sara a button which is described to slow down the execution and has a possibility of ending it if pressed enough. After Sara tries to stop the execution from happening, which ends up failing, Miley mocks Sara saying the button would've never stopped the execution in the first place. Redirecting her attention to Kai, Q-taro Burgerburg runs up and restrains her from activating the execution, while Kai is left bleeding from stabbing himself, eventually dropping dead.

When the third floor is opened, Miley only makes minor appearances, first giving Sara the percentage sheets. When Sara and Keiji later venture the first floor once again to find a missing Gin Ibushi, a Miley doll can be seen idly sitting in a hidden room. Miley can then be seen talking to an unknown person on the first floor, but they are quickly interrupted by the card trade alarm on Sara and Keiji's tablets.

  • "Ahaha. As it happens, I have revived to tell you what is happening, and support you through the trials and tribulations to come."

  • "Ehehe. There’s nothing to fear, you see? I will offer you all support… [...] Ahaha… Sigh… Is there no one who can speak calmly here?"

  • "Ehehe... You don't know, do you… Eheehee. What I'm about to explain...is in regards *to* a fight you must take, ahaha, for your own destiny."

Rio Ranger

Ranger was created with nearly only negative personality traits and was devoid of any empathy or kindness until later in Chapter 2. He has a strong inferiority complex toward humans which leads him to act with sadistic glee at their despair. He pretends like he treats humans dismissively, but in truth he pays a lot of attention to towards them, going as far as collecting clothing from dead participants to wear for himself.  He has a rough manner of speech, where he usually calls participants 'bastards.'

Ranger was created by Safalin and Gashu. Gashu was in charge of giving him negative emotions, specifically enhancing inferiority which led to jealousy and hatred, and discarded nearly all of his positive emotions, which Safalin was in charge of. These emotions were: kindness, compassion, happiness, figuratively "removed his heart," and despite having the mechanisms,Ranger could not create a heartfelt smile Though, Gashu believes it is the negative emotions and imperfections which make Ranger most human.

After Kugie, Anzu, Ranmaru, Mai, Mishima, Joe, and Kai die, he takes articles of their clothing for himself.

Ranger is the Floor Master of the third floor. After the surviving participants arrive, he unlocked the AI screen of Kazumi Mishima and introduced the Sub-Game, attractions, and requirements needed for the 2nd Main Game

Following the end of the 11th Final Attraction, Ranger was executed by Gashu for stepping out of line, which lead to the death of Alice or Reko (depending on the route). Ranger is beheaded, but Safalin later connects his head to a machine and temporarily revives him for 10 minutes. In those 10 minutes, she returns Ranger's missing emotions, and he dies feeling regret. Safalin dubs him "Rio Laizer" (ココ・ロエル, Koko Roeru''?).

  • "Hey there! You bastards slept well? [...] Ehh? You prefer the ladies, do ya? Sheesh. C'mon over here, Safalin! For they have so humbly requested a girl!"

  • "That's right! I told you this game switched out "trust" for "tokens," yeah? The amount you were handed... That's what matters. So naturally, however many of your own tokens you got, they wooon't be counted! Now to announce the standings! Line up! The superb person who earned the most trust will be awarded a special privilege!"

  • "Q-taro, there's a red switch in front of ya. Press that, and the target will do a 180, and the stinger'll aim at you instead. [...] The privilege to be a sacrifice for Gin! [...] You're free to do whatever. That switch isn't a duty, it's a privilege."

Safalin is the most reserved doll. Her first appearance is on a screen in the Monitor Room, and she only emerges in person when Ranger demands it. Afterward, she roams Floor 3, practicing hospitality for "important participants" on orders from the Floor Master, Rio Ranger.

Her title, "The Crying Doll", is congruous with the way she acts. She seems to have a rather submissive personality, often allowing others to bully her. She never asserts herself and is quick to apologize for any perceived misstep.

On occasion, Safalin seems to be carried away by an unusually brazen and almost sadistic streak, so far only seen when she is meeting one-on-one with a participant. It is unclear whether this behavior is intended to be entirely malicious or not, and what exactly triggers this shift in her behavior. As soon as another individual enters the scene, she quickly resumes her typical behavior.

  • "I get it...! So then... Ranger...! It was you, wasn't it...?!"

  • "Waaah!! You told me to do it just like in the rehearsal, didn't you...?!"

  • " Ahh... What a cheerful face...  [...] *giggle*... That's no good, miss Sara... [...] Please, just do everything I tell you... And this device will be your reward... ...Isn't that nice? [...] *giggle*... / Yes, you'll devote your life to me, won't you? And I'll be sure to make your brain into mush..."

Gashu is a gaunt, gangly looking man with dark sunken eyes. He has short brown hair and a distinctive mustache that looks a bit like a crab.

Overall, Gashu, like Tia Safalin and Sue Miley, gives the impression of sweets; specifically chocolate chestnut layer cake. Gashu wears a brown blazer jacket and matching pants over a brown and tan striped shirt. Two of the tan stripes has a row of yellow circles. In his left breast jacket pocket is a plant stem of some kind and a button pinned on his right. The pin has the hiragana letter 'ぽ, po?' on it.

Gashu makes himself look like an emotionless doll, but in reality, he shows coldness and sometimes being somewhat analytical. In turn, he appears to be quite polite and chivalrous, as was demonstrated several times with Gin, Sara, and Keiji.

Gashu reveals the trading system soon afterwards, and that all of the cards for the main game have been assigned via the tablets. He'll later appear multiple times throughout the course of the waiting time, whether idly standing around and watching or crushing the participants' hopes after their escape route was revealed to have been compromised long ago.

During the second main game it was revealed that Gashu had messed with the trading system, trading Kanna Kizuchi's Sacrifice card, which she tried to trade with Sara to save her, to the last surviving non-candidate; Nao Egokoro. Although the main game was almost given a twenty four hour extension via the rules, Gashu takes it into his hands to make it continue by shooting himself and allowing Tia Safalin to take control of the remaining time. As a result of his actions the final vote takes place allowing the candidates to vote for Kanna, Nao, or Sou Hiyori. Depending on the votes Kanna is executed with flower seeds injected into her blood, Nao is crushed to death or otherwise escapes with Sara Chidouin if voted for by her, or lastly Sou is killed in the midst of his escape attempt.

  • "I will now begin explanations for the second Main Game. Mr. Gin Ibushi… How are you faring?"

  • "Just amazing, Mr. Gin Ibushi. Astonishing resilience! Why, you’re the picture of health already. And Uncle Crabstache… It’s an honor to receive such a charming nickname."

  • "That act has no meaning. We are held captive as well. Until it is all over... our fates are intertwined. [...] Now, everyone, it is time to stop dreaming. You must win...! Only for the victor will the path open!! You have only a brief time left... Spend your last moments before the Main Game well."

Midori is a cruelly mischievous man shrouded in mystery. He seems to have somewhat sadistic tendencies; deriving happiness from teasing and harassing others for his own amusement, even in life and death situations. He enjoys making others uneasy and playing inappropriate jokes on them.

Midori is rather controlling; preferring to cheat or trick in order to stay in the dominant position. His energetic and playful manner of speaking is often completely oblivious to the dangerous circumstances of their situation, treating dark topics with little weight; often lightheartedly referencing his own death with no hesitation, and making it into a game.

At times he seems to drop the act, mockingly becoming serious to scold participants if they don't follow his orders. However, this emphasizes just how much he patronizes the others. Despite speaking in a cheerful and cool manner, Midori seems to actively disdain Alice Yabusame, his supposed killer.

  • "Ahaha. Sorry to pop out of the darkness. Did I startle you, I wonder? [...] As you can see, I'm super duper. So, did you enjoy it?"

  • "Of course, Sou Hiyori is a name of the past to me now. Seeing as Shin's used it with such care, I'm not going to ask him to give it back now!"

  • "You just have to join forces to kill a certain target. That is to say, it's a hunt! [...] You can use any method! Shooting, stabbing, striking, strangling, anything goes! It should be a piece of cake for you guys who've killed a bunch of people, albeit indirectly!"
