Far Harvest | Original Animated Short
Project Overview
Far Harvest is going to be a short film 3-5 minutes long, capturing the last wisp of Fall in an intimate exchange between two kin of the corn stalks. We're seeking voices for our two characters, a crow and a scarecrow, either of which can be voiced by any gender.
We plan to finish production relatively quickly, releasing the short in December of this year!
What we're looking for:
- All genders and accents welcome! The script and characters are not dependent on either, so please feel free to audition for both roles with whatever voice you like.
- Must be willing to meet via video or voice chat (zoom, discord, skype) for live direction before the 30th. We're super chill, it'll be no stress <3 Sorry if the tight turn-around excludes some folks - we'll have other projects in the future!
- quality audio, no equipment preference as long as you know how to make it sound crisp!
- dry / grounded performances. We're seeking characters, not caricatures, regardless of how cartoony they look.
Deadline is 8pm EST on the 26th!
Thanks for considering our project!

Made of sticks and straw, Scare has the important job of keeping the fields free of creatures who would steal a meal. They start out new and unconfident, but through the seasons grow fierce, and later still, weary. Their tone is frail and mumblesome. They are not socially adept, and often trail off or put their feelings out in a straight-forward way under their breath.
(Impatient, hiding nerves) I don't care if you starve, that's none of my concern! Could you please just go!?
(anxious, interested) No, no, it's alright. I mean, just until the rain stops... You're fine.
(devastated sobs)
An old hat in the game of improvised survival, Crow has the confidence and swagger to get away with anything given enough time. They see opportunities in every obstacle, and open themselves up to use their vulnerability as a tool to connect with others. Suave and dry, they speak in a care-free but particular way.
(curious, testing) Oh? I'm sure you're right, I just wondered if you thought this through.
(somber, lying) What do you take me for? Of course I'll be back. I'm offended you'd even doubt me.
(startled, thrown off) What the- CAW!
