Three ageless beings who weave the destiny of the world. They exist outside of time, memory, and mortality, appearing whenever the threads of fate tighten around the characters. Part chorus, part oracle, and part unseen force, they guide the audience through the story while influencing the emotional and spiritual journey of the protagonists.

The Fates speak and sing in layered harmony, often completing one another’s thoughts as though sharing a single consciousness. At times they are whispering shadows; at others they become a thunderous prophetic choir. They do not choose events, but they witness them with terrible certainty, revealing that love, war, loss, and reunion are all strands of the same tapestry.

Their role is to:

• Foretell the meeting of Cordelia and Kaelith.

• Comment on the action like an ancient Greek chorus.

• Bridge scenes and time periods, carrying the audience across dreams, memories, and battlefields.

• Heighten the mythic scale of the musical through ritualistic movement and vocal textures.

• Embody destiny itself, reminding the audience that no character can fully escape what has been woven.

The Fates should feel both intimate and cosmic: they know the secret fears of every character, yet they speak with the authority of stars, oceans, and eternity. Their presence is unsettling rather than villainous; they are not evil, but they are inexorable.

• Vocal quality: ethereal, resonant, and capable of sudden power.

• Movement: synchronized, deliberate, almost ceremonial, as if each gesture pulls an invisible thread.

• Emotional tone: solemn, compassionate, and terrifying in equal measure.

• Stage function: they may appear in shadows, among the ensemble, above the action, or seemingly emerge from the scenery itself, reinforcing the sense that fate is always present even when unseen.

In this musical, the Fates are the keepers of the story’s truth: while kingdoms rise and fall, they alone remember every lifetime, every promise, and every soul that has loved before.

To her people, Amphitrite is a divine ruler—calm, wise, and merciless when her kingdom is threatened. To Cordelia, she is a mother torn between love and fear, desperately trying to protect her daughter from a fate written long before her birth.

She understands the language of oceans, storms, and ancient magic, but she cannot silence the one force even she cannot command: destiny itself. Her greatest struggle is accepting that the daughter she wishes to shelter beneath the waves must one day rise to face the world above them.

Vocal quality: A rich, commanding mezzo-soprano or contralto voice—warm as the deep ocean, but capable of overwhelming power like a storm at sea.

Presence: Regal, mysterious, maternal, and tragic. She should feel like the ocean itself: beautiful, ancient, and dangerous.

Poseidon — God of the Sea, King of the Oceans, Father of Cordelia

The ancient ruler of the seas, Poseidon is a god of immense power, commanding the oceans with the same authority that kings command their kingdoms. His presence is overwhelming—an embodiment of storms, tides, and the endless depths beneath the waves. He is not cruel, but he is absolute; the sea does not ask permission to destroy, and neither does he.

As King of the Ocean Realms, Poseidon carries the burden of protecting an immortal kingdom that has existed since the first tides touched the world. He is a warrior, a sovereign, and a force of nature. To his subjects, he is an untouchable legend. To his enemies, he is a catastrophe given form.

Yet beneath the thunder and fury is a father who loves his daughter deeply. Cordelia is the one part of his vast kingdom he cannot command. He fears the prophecy surrounding her destiny, not because he doubts her strength, but because he knows even gods cannot break the threads woven by fate.

His greatest conflict is between his identity as a ruler and his heart as a father: whether to protect Cordelia from the world or allow her to become the force she was born to be.
