Sanctum Lucis
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for "Sanctum Lucis," a 30-second animated short film. This is a student project for my animation program, and I'm looking for talented voice actors to help bring the characters to life. The short is a horror/fantasy piece with a focus on atmosphere and suspense.
All contributing actors will receive a final, high-quality copy of the film for their use and will be fully credited.
Tagline:
In order to escape a monstrous entity pursuing them, an adventurer and his companion trap themselves within a dilapidated church, only to discover his one ally may not be who he seems.
Characters:
LUCEN:
(they/he), Masc voice, medium
22. Confident, calculated yet warm. Easygoing and hypnotically good at winning people over, Hiding a secret that no one must know.
NIKO:
(he/him), Androgynous/Masc voice, medium - high
20. Curious, anxious yet determined. Wants to make a name for himself in the adventurer’s guild, and goes to reckless lengths to achieve fame.
COMPENSATION
As this is a student project with no budget, these roles are unpaid. However, you will be prominently credited in the film and any related materials. This is a collaborative project, and your contribution is highly valued!
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
Audition Deadline: October 21
Casting Notification: October 23-5
This is a hard deadline to meet the semester project requirements. If you are unable to record between the script delivery and due date, please do not audition.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Have Fun!
Clean Recordings: Please submit clean recordings using a quality microphone. Please avoid background noise like air conditioners, fans, or computer hum. Some noise reduction is fine, but files that are overly processed or have significant background noise will be difficult to use.
No Effects: Please submit your lines dry, with no reverb, compression, or other effects. Leave the post-production to me!
Multiple Takes: Feel free to submit your 2-3 best takes for each line. Please edit out any flubs or takes you do not want considered.
