RWBY: Fandub | Casting Call
Project Overview

Oh boy it's a RWBY Fandub! For those of you that don’t know, RWBY is an american web series made by Monty Oum and produced by Rooster Teeth. The plot is centered around 4 members of Team RWBY (Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee,Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao-Long) training at a school named Beacon to defend the World of Remnant from evil.
Now the fandub is going to be approached by different scenes in certain episodes opposed to doing the entire series which would take forever. If you still don’t get it, allow me to clarify. Instead of doing an entire episode or the entire Volume, I’ll randomly pick scenes from the series that I believe should be dubbed by the cast. I will of course notify everyone in that particular scene. The scene we will start once everyone is casted and the script is finished is RWBY Volume 2 Episode 1:”Best Day Ever”’s Food Fight Scene.
Now that you know the basic premise of the project, I think it’s time to set the rules.
If I give you a deadline, I expect you to turn the lines in, if you fail to do so, you will be removed from the project and replaced. I don’t want one person wasting the time of everyone else.
When you’re given the lines, I’ll also have the original scene with the timestamp of each line so you can use that for reference.
When giving lines make sure they are in mp4,wav. flv, or aiff. format as those are the easiest ones to open.
Make sure to have a decent microphone. Loud background noise, audio peaking, pops,buzzing, and distorted audio will not be allowed. I don’t want it to sound like you’re speaking through a radio from World War II, but it doesn’t have to be a $1,000 mic. As long as your audio is good then everything’s fine.
For whatever reason I’ll want to direct voice actors. Don’t be nervous if I direct you, only because I’m not there to judge you but there to guide you. (And normally, I’ve had the most fun directing fellow voice actors) .
Be able to act. That seems like a weird thing to say, but as RWBY goes on the series gets more emotional, so I want to know that you guys will be able to produce emotion through your voice. Don’t give me a dry read through of the lines.
Be respectful to everyone in the cast even if you have a history with them. If it's a lot more serious than expected then let me know.
Going back to the acting section. RWBY is an action-orientated series which means there’s a lot of fights…….and intense screaming. So be comfortable with that and have fun because if you can’t yell…..then damn.
(Optional) I recommend that you watch the first 4 Volumes so you'll have a clear understanding of the series as a whole or better yet so you don't feel as if you were spoiled because you didn't finish the series and get angry at me when you find out that *BLANK* died.
The final rule is to make sure that you are able to keep in contact. I need to have a way to contact you whether it be Skype, Discord, or email.

Ruby Rose is the main protagonist of RWBY. She is joyful and innocent.She has also shown a distinct lack of ability picking up social cues due to being a very open and honest person. This results in her being unable to pick up Weiss' sarcasm. Although Ruby has no trouble interacting with friends, she does have trouble actually making them, and once admits that seeing new weapons "is like meeting new people, but better".In combat or dangerous situations, she is shown to be quite impulsive and battle eager.
Her voice is high-pitched and SUPER energetic, but if you guys can somehow capture her personality, that is also accepted.
Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose. I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people... but better...

Weiss Schnee (pronounced Why-ss Sh-nee) is one of the main protagonists of RWBY.
Former heiress of the vastly influential Schnee Dust Company. After enrolling in Beacon Academy against the wishes of her father she becomes a member of Team RWBY. She is a bit of a rebel. She takes pride in her name and the company.Weiss is "nice but can also be a little bit bitchy". She is irritable and confident in her abilities, though also acknowledges her deficiencies and the need to hone her skills further. Her confidence in her skills and intellect often comes off as arrogance to others.
Weiss vows that as a Huntress, she will elevate the Schnee name from her father’s dishonor to it and put her desires behind others’ necessities.

Blake Belladonna is one of the main protagonists of RWBY.
She was part of the White Fang, a Faunus terrorist group. After leaving the organization, Blake enrolls in Beacon Academy, where she becomes a member of Team RWBY.
Blake is mellow and displays a cool, reserved, and serious personality most of the time but does not lack a humorous side usually in the form of dry wit and sarcasm. Blake is a righteous person, respecting other people's lives regardless of whether they are Faunus. She strongly despises those who judge and discriminate based on racial prejudice. Blake is outspoken and defends Faunus of any kind.

Yang is one of the main protagonists of RWBY.
Yang is the kind of person who would teach someone how to swim by pushing them in the water. This speaks volumes about how Yang approaches most things in life. She is very straightforward and confident.
Yang is also described as being a cheerful, energetic and bright young lady. She is arguably the most flippant, carefree and adventurous member of her team, frequently making sarcastic comments and jokes even in the heat of battle and often taking combat and hostile situations lightly.Yang’s “brawler” fighting style is evocative of her personality. She lets her quick and thoughtless anger get the best of her. She is extremely nurturing, particularly toward her younger sister, Ruby. Yang pushes her into being outgoing and also worries a great deal for her sister across the many battles they fight in.She is very caring. Yang’s love of adventure is a main reason she decided to become a Huntress.
Her voice is strong, cocky, and energetic.

Jaune Arc is a former student at Beacon Academy. He is the leader Team JNPR.
Jaune is not exactly the most suave individual in Beacon Academy, though he does try to portray himself as such. He is a kindhearted, amiable person and means well. A strong sense of integrity makes him willing to deliberately put himself in awkward situations. Jaune is an outgoing, goofy, and all around friendly person. He treats people equally and has no problems expressing himself to strangers and bonds with them easily, showing a lot of confidence. Because of his family line, Jaune is obsessed with being a hero. However, he was never formally trained like the rest of his family; this causes him to lack self-esteem and assign a lot of importance to his image as a fighter.Despite usually being easily intimidated and scared; once the battle starts, Jaune's fears are replaced by his brash attitude; causing him to jump in headfirst without considering the risks.
His voice is somewhat high-pitched and confident.

Nora Valkyrie is a student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team JNPR.
Nora is a happy-go-lucky, bubbly and playful young girl, Nora is mainly characterized by her boundless enthusiasm. Because of her free-spirited attitude, Nora's personality changes according to her mood and she is prone to becoming a nuisance to the people around her and losing the point of a conversation. Although Nora retains her joyful personality even in combat, she is seen to be more focused and in control of herself during an encounter. She can be patient, obedient and smart. If she does not see the need of her assistance, she will stand back and choose to observe. And lastly, when she follows Jaune's plans and finds herself in a position that gives her the advantage, she's able to figure out a way to defeat her enemies on her own, indicating an ability to strategize quickly and efficiently.
It is suggested that Nora's happy-go-lucky nature in part disguises any pain and stress she may have retained from the Fall of Kuroyuri. serious when mostly necessary.

Pyrrha Nikos is a student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team JNPR.
Pyrrha is a very professionally-capable, friendly, and relaxed person. She was a composed and collected individual who, despite being a celebrity, was modest and patient around people, making her very sociable. As a righteous person who treated people equally, Pyrrha stated that she could not stand those who enjoy committing "atrocious" acts such as bullying. Pyrrha was also a very helpful and selfless person, such as when she gave Jaune Arc advice in confessing his feeling to Weiss Schnee, despite being interested in him herself.
However, she still had a tendency to act before thinking, frequently following a friend's lead before fully thinking it through. Pyrrha was also a level-headed thinker in battle.
I’m looking for someone that can pull off a warrior voice. As she is friendly and relaxed that is also something that should be considered when voicing her.

Lie Ren, more commonly referred to by his last name Ren, is a former student at Beacon Academy, a member of Team JNPR. As a young child, Ren is usually mellow and wishes for peace and quiet, much like Blake Belladonna. He seems very much in control of himself.
He is unbothered by Nora Valkyrie's bubbly and contrasting personality, showing a great deal of patience when dealing with his hyperactive, happy-go-lucky childhood friend. Nora has called him "the perfect student", implying that he may be something of an intellectual.However, this is not to say that he is completely humorless. He is slightly playful after finding Nora in the Emerald Forest, during the events of "The Emerald Forest" Ren is also indicated to be a bit of a cook, as he makes pancakes for the team when Nora implied that it was his fault that she was hungry.

Coco Adel is the leader of Team CFVY. Her weapon of choice is a handbag that can transform into a rotary cannon. She is first seen in "Field Trip", after returning from fighting the Grimm.
Coco appears to be very confident: her self-assurance is expressed in the very way she struts down the battlefield. Her experience with Grimm has been consistent enough that their appearance no longer fazes her. Coco is confident enough in her team that she holds Velvet Scarlatina back from combat when she tries to unleash her weapon. There is also a touch of sportsmanship and open-mindedness in showing appreciation for Emerald despite being opponents who sass each other.

Sun Wukong is a Faunus from the Kingdom of Vacuo, who later moved to Mistral and made his first appearance in "The Stray". He has a good relationship with Blake after Volume 1. Sun is shown to be fun-loving and mischievous, with little regard for the law - stowing away on a ship, thanking the crew for the ride during his escape, throwing a banana peel in a detective's face, and stealing apples.He also has a strong crush on Blake Belladonna…...yeah uhhh forgot to mention that. He also doesn't like it when people dear to him have to risk their lives. However, Sun himself is willing to put himself in harm's way for those he cares for.

Neptune Vasilias is a character in the world of RWBY and a member of Team SSSN.Neptune is shown to be a calm, collected, and respectful individual with a carefree personality. He maintains a positive impression with people he meets and often hangs out with his friend Sun Wukong, who describes him as being cool. Neptune is prone to flirting with girls that he literally just met. Neptune is very self-conscious of his image and can be easily embarrassed over his minor inadequacies, like his inability to dance, and refused to admit his fear of water. His tendency to protect his reputation can sometimes make him inconsiderate to the feelings of others.

Ozpin was the headmaster of Beacon Academy.
Ozpin is typically both stoic and affable towards people he speaks to. Ozpin can be humble, admitting that he has made many mistakes in the past. In addition, he possesses a more caring side, comforting Ruby and assuring her that her appointment as team leader was not a mistake. He is seen to care for the well being of his students, as with Blake Belladonna when he told her if she needed to tell him anything, she should not hesitate to ask. Ozpin is also shown to harbor a respect for the Faunus, something made clear during his conversation with Blake, yet is highly aware of the racial discrimination they suffer from humans.
Ozpin is also known to believe dearly in teamwork, which is one of the reasons why the huntsmen academies focus heavily on it.

Glynda Goodwitch is a staff member at Beacon Academy.
It seems that Glynda has a very stern and sharp personality - one that does not tolerate mischief or needlessly getting into dangerous situations. Glynda is mainly seen as cool and businesslike; even her fighting is very systematic.
Glynda also shows compassion toward James Ironwood on multiple occasions, despite being vocal about her disapproval of him and some of his methods.

Cinder Fall is one of the main antagonists of RWBY and the main antagonist of the Beacon Arc. She is a member of a small group of people with malicious goals led by Salem and the leader of her own group. Her associates include her subordinates Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai, the criminal Roman Torchwick, and Adam Taurus, a high-ranking member of the White Fang.
Cinder is imperious and cunning. She can also be ruthless and cruel. Usually, she maintains a calm and collected demeanor, and is willing to take over a fight if necessary. Although she refers to her partnership with Roman as "cooperation", it is obvious that she has the upper hand. She doesn't seem to tolerate failure. Cinder also prefers that such problems be solved quickly, and is seen to give very direct orders, and doesn't like when she is disobeyed.
When it comes to planning, Cinder is very secretive, keeping Roman on a strict need-to-know basis. Cinder has confidence in her strategies, and is usually unfazed by new elements.She's also a self-assured fighter, having attacked Atlas Soldiers and Ruby Rose head on.
Cinder has a desire for power and dominance, as she states in a flashback that she wants to be feared. She enjoys flaunting the superiority her power gives her, like when she threatened Torchwick.

What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference. And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First, a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet I have witnessed neither.
Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong, but I know that the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves. As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you the situation there is equally undesirable.

Mercury Black is an antagonist in RWBY. He is an associate of Cinder Fall and partner of Emerald Sustrai. Mercury is shown to be rather care-free and jokes around when in the company of Emerald, whom he makes an effort to annoy. He seems to opt for excitement and action.

Emerald Sustrai is an antagonist in RWBY. She is an associate of Cinder Fall and a partner of Mercury Black.Emerald initially appears to be affable and disarmingly friendly; however, this belies a darker side of her character. On the whole, she seems to be genuinely outgoing and quick-witted, if a little short-fused. She can also act a little childish or petty.Emerald shows a strong sense of loyalty, specifically to Cinder, whom she appears incredibly eager to please. Accordingly, she is willing to take the initiative to impress her, such as tracking down Tukson and killing him.
She pretty much sounds energetic and cool. I'd compare her voice to Korra from The Legend Of Korra.
She has a mid to low ranged voice.

Roman's personality was a mixture between that of a formal gentleman and a ruthless criminal. He emits charm and speaks calmly even in the middle of an armed robbery. Roman emits hostility when upset or frustrated.Despite working with the White Fang, he has no respect for them or Faunus in general. He also often takes to mocking, taunting, and insulting his enemies.
He he works with Cinder's Faction under the belief that nobody can stop them, and he couldn't afford to lose, considering himself a gambling man who knew what bets not to take.
I’m looking for a voice that can portray wit and class, much like the voice in the actual series.

Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck is a teacher at Beacon Academy. Oobleck's trademark characteristics are his extreme hyperactivity and his love for coffee, tea or some other stimulant. Not only does he frequently "glide" about in class at incredible speeds, he also speaks very rapidly. When moving, he often appears as a blur or moves so quickly that his legs appear stationary. Bartholomew displays a great deal of enthusiasm for all of his work, including his duties as a Huntsman. He also clearly relishes his role as a mentor and instructor.
He sounds very hyperactive and energetic, as if he just drunk 23 gallons of caffeine.

Penny is amiable, excitable, kind and curious. She shows a distinct lack of social awareness, likely due to not having a lot of experience with human nature. Penny's most notable trait is her kindness.

James Ironwood is the headmaster of Atlas Academy, a General in the Atlesian military, and a holder of two seats on the Atlesian Council. Ironwood has a jovial and friendly public persona. His skills as a communicator see him acting as a spokesman for the weapon manufacturers of Atlas. In this role, he is easy-going and humorous, able to draw a crowd into his presentation. Yet however courteous Ironwood may appear, he can also be incredibly blunt, arrogant and generally prefers the direct approach. When he feels it is necessary Ironwood is not afraid to bring the full might of his military command to bear, which can spark disagreements with both Glynda and Ozpin. Glynda displayed dissatisfaction in Ironwood's bravado attitude. Nevertheless, Ironwood is extremely loyal to his comrades and, however questionable his methods may be, he seems to have genuinely good intentions behind them.
James consistently believes his own ideas are the best course of action, whether he is being opposed by Ozpin or Jacques Schnee.
I think he should have a deep voice or semi-deep that is stern, disciplined, and presentable.
