Rota Fortunae
Project Overview
Chrysos Chronicles is an upcoming book series that is currently being written. This project would serve as a prequel/introduction to the fantasy world of this series. This world is filled with gods, their children, and the mortals who worship them-and some who don't.
Rota Fortunae is a fully voice acted visual novel in video format with the aim of being uploaded on Youtube. Though the use of tarot cards, each episode will focus on one character and their development. The casting and payment are currently tailored to the pilot, so many of these characters will return in different capacities, therefore affecting the rate.

Etienne is the king of the nation of voltaire, which is largely inspired by France. Etienne is 19 and assumed the crown at 15 after the murder of his father. Etienne now concerns himself with keeping his brother (Theo) and his kingdom safe. Etienne gets some help from his friends at court, but he would not be the king he is today without his frequent consultations with the secret goddess Ilysia. Etienne is a fairly quiet and observant person, so his moments of anger are all the more impactful. This is a lead role.

Rex is the personal guard to the king of Voltaire (Etienne). Rex has always had a very close relationship with the king and yearns to go past the dynamic of guard and king. Rex is a godling (Child of a god) of heliaon (Sun god) and has corresponding powers. Rex knows he is not well liked by most and doesn't mind that.

Elias is the son of the palace seamstress (Voltaire). Him and his mom have just moved to Voltaire from Arbor (A country inspired by Brazil). Elias is adapting to life in the palace and is eager to join the knights. Elias is very naive and doesn't fully realise the role of a knight, he is simply drawn to the sense of community and generosity. Elias is a godling (child of the gods) of flores (god of nature) making him naturally drawn and compassionate towards flowers.

Misha (she/her, 17) is a crew member aboard a pirate ship captained by Malah. She's Malah's most trusted crew member, something of a first mate, and is also the daughter of the star goddess Astrum. Misha sometimes sees things in the stars through her dreams, and that informs no small amount of her decisions.

They've been quiet recently. My dreams are... mellower each time we get near Voltaire's coast, though, so I didn't expect much else.

We need one more artist to bring our story to life. This would revolve mostly around making character sprites for each of the 7 characters that are present in the first episode. We think we would need 4 sprites per character but this number may vary. Please send a front facing, full body or upper torso drawing of a character you've drawn in the past.

Ilysia is a goddess from unknown lands with an unknown purpose. Only Etienne knows of her existence, while others like Rex have only been able to guess at it. Etienne found her at age sixteen, and she has counseled him ever since. It is possible that she is responsible for keeping his reign afloat.

No one knows what to make of Rota Fortunae other than the rumor that there’s a woman spurned by all the gods who wanders the mythical second skin of the world (the labyrinth). Her name means Wheel of Fortune, and that's fittingly what she’s said to offer—a sort of tarot reading into the eyes of fate. The few who have claimed to find her reject her ramblings as that of a mad woman. She has been cursed by the divinities of Lumien, and there is no serious use in entertaining her.
