Project Overview

INTRODUCTION:

Greetings! I'm Zeke, AKA c0rruptzie and this casting call is for my upcoming indie animated series called Roses Beneath! A grim fairytale in the magical world of Everfall, a mixture with psychological thrills and heartfelt storytelling, among a cast of survivors as they put their hands together to fight for a better future of their world. This project has been in the works for over 4 years, but we NEED your help to bring it to life! A couple of extra hands would be heavily appreciated. If you wish to join us, look no further!

PROJECT SUMMARY:

A tale encircling the fear of humanity, mortality, and the unknown. A group of individuals are the sole survivors of a great disaster that occurred within mere moments of the past. The extinction of the human race brought permanent abandonment, isolation, and fear. Now residing in the decaying ghost town Witherhill, they discover it stores the true secret to keeping humanity alive. However… within the withered chambers lies something much more sinister hiding in plain sight. Forced to band together, the Roselinqs wield amulets of unmatched power as they must work together to uncover the dark prophecy. Our survivors must preserve what is left of Everfall and prepare for a new beginning to arise; If they are not careful, their last chance to restore their world will slip away from the grasp of their fingertips. Time is running out, as the garden awaits their beck and call…

Roses Beneath is a dark fantasy psychological thriller series, told within several mediums of art. It is a drama including the format of animatics, sprites, artistic cutscenes, and uniquely tragic visuals. The series will be exclusively available to c0rruptzie’s YouTube channel, as updates for the project will be brought to you on the official Twitter account @TheRosesBeneath.

WHAT WE NEED:

Roses Beneath needs the help of willing and talented illustrators, character artists, rough + clean animators, storyboarders, background artists, 3 VA roles + additional background roles, musicians, a sound designer and an audio mixer If you are interested, take a look below at the roles individually for more information!

IMPORTANT INFO AND DEADLINE:

The development for this project will be done through Discord and is nonpaid! It is a passion project solely done within people's free time and whenever they wish to work, but we appreciate only those who are willing to commit! We require you to have Discord to participate in the development, but please provide other means of contact via other social medias so I can contact you if you got the part! The script for the Prologue is currently in development and our main prioirty as we get people ready to start moving! By joining our team, you'll be on for the rest of the road!

We require people to have Discord, no specific requirements for software programs for parts applicable but as long as you are able to successfully submit what you need to do, we're golden! We are willing to make accommodations for any and all!

This Casting Call Club will be open for a while, but once we see a surge of auditions coming in, we will be closing on November 30th! Extensions may be given on specific occasions, but please accept this as the final date!

  • CLOSING TONIGHT

    One final reminder, TONIGHT at 11:59PM PST is when submissions will close! No other auditions will be accepted minus artist and animator applications through discord or on here. Every other position will no longer be available and we will cast accordingly!!! You have a few hours left!

  • UPDATE 1/11 - SURPRISE ROLE + 100 AUDITIONS!

    Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the unanimous support on the Casting Call so far! I am genuinely blown away by how much we are still receiving, and I am working hard to get us to push forward! Over 100 auditions is an amazing achievement, and the video alongside our discord server for the community has been getting larger by the minute! I am so grateful for your time -- and hope to see anyone else who still has eyes on this give it a shot! You still have about 3 weeks left!

    Now, onto the big announcement -- after heavy consideration, I have decided to put up the character whom I was debating for some time to keep a secret while finding her voice, up for audition!

    Alice, a lovely witch and rabbit is now available to audition for! You can find her role on the page!

    This was a very tough decision, but due to her importance in the storyline later on, I think it's good I find who fits her. I tried my best to be ambiguous when it came to revealing too much on her, but note that from onward, I will be very limited to what I tell of her until later on.

    I am also really hoping we can get more of the artists, animators, storyboarders and other roles more auditions too!!! These are ESPECIALLY important for us to move forward in production, so if you know anyone PLEASE forward the page to them!!! We need as much help as we can get!

    We will continue to storyboard through EP1 and I am officially wrapped up with Prologue 1's script (3 Parts total, making EP1)! I'm doing my best to manage and hope we can get more help!   • UPDATE: 11/1/25 - THANK YOU AND MORE!

    Hello everyone!!! I wanted to thank each and every single one of you for auditioning so far! I am immensely blown away by the amount of submissions so far for the Casting Call. it is fantastic to see other people interested in my passion project of several years and trust me when I say I've got my eye on you folks! Also had zero idea bots and scammers were a thing on this site. Safe to say I had to learn how to manage them, but no worries. LOL

    Keep spreading the word! I'll be pushing out update logs from time to time here, but this is how things shall work from here.

    WHAT'S NEXT?

    From now up until November 30th, I will be keeping auditions open. Throughout this time I'll be trying to go through the ones I receive while wrapping up final touches and edits to Prologue 1's script (containing the first three parts, or episodes, for Roses Beneath). Prologue 2's will pack back up in December or Early 2026. I've worked my hands plenty enough from this year!

    Depending on the amount of people who audition, I may close accordingly if the number ever becomes massive, but there's a very high chance it'll be open for the rest of the time. When closing comes, they will not open back up unless there is popular demand, by which I can extend it by a week due to CCC!

    Afterwards, the process that'll soon follow will occur.

    THE CASTING PROCCESS

    On December 1st, I will close auditions and begin sorting through each of them alongside 3 other members of my team.

    1. We will sort through each category and handpick the top contenders for each role.

    2. Shortlist them accordingly to notify that they are more likely to be selected. These first two steps may take to up to a week due to our schedules, and for other category's outside of voices with more extensive backgrounds or portfolios may be longer as more may be selected from these.

    3. We will proceed with background checks for the shortlisted individuals look through portfolios, social medias and other previous works to determine who will be allowed to join. We prioritize the safety of team members and will make sure they are the right fit for us.

    4. Once completed, our full team will go through a voting process for who shall be selected. After my final decision as director, those who have been casted will be notified and contacted directly through discord or social medias to confirm they have been selected! Due to CCC DM limits, I will prioritize a discord contact as well as a CCC Cast notification.

    Keep your eyes out for early December. Within the first 1-2 weeks our contenders will be picked and we will move forward by welcoming you on board!

CHARACTER BIO:
Alice is a side character of Roses Beneath.  Whispers from afar speak of her name as she's come a long way... This particular lady is a powerful witch, one of the first to be more exact.  There are rumors that she was responsible for teaching all the youngins about our heroes, the Roselinqs' history.  She is rather proud and will honor their legacy, as well as plant a blessing in their hearts.


She is polite, imaginative, and eager.  All who meet her emphasize how pleasant she is to be around, serving good manners yet unique wits.  She has a knack for all of the small things in life and wants to stay optimistic.  Never underestimate her, though as she dives headfirst into battle with courage. The amount of storms she could make with her spells is unimaginable.  Some say she was rather close to a rabbit figure... but who?  


She has a passion for teaching all -- but learning makes her head turn from how exciting it all can be. So much so, she seems to fall ill quickly.  Don't let her wander too far off though.. she needs to sweep off the pathways for the garden in preparation.  What was that about her smile?  Ah, right... It seems to hold something so peculiar.

Looking for something a bit higher pitched and matching with her personality.  Cheery, polite, but determined.  Would like a voice similar to Guinevere from Knights of Guinevere or anything alike!

CHARACTER BIO:
Sally is a side character to Roses Beneath.  She is a sourbelt-candy human.  They’re a fierce, good natured farmer living on their mother’s barn steering up the tastiest drinks and greenest produce.  Steady, full of love and tricks up her sleeve, Sourbelts is one heck of a treat to all customers!  The candy-lady will always place nice; So long as you don’t cause a bar fight that needs to be broken up by her, of course.


Sally has a natural talent for gathering folks around.  She’s great at conversing with strangers while pouring at least 4 pop drinks at the same time (wowza)!  Once finished with her daily responsibilities, they go off on their own time to indulge in their passion for mining.  Did you know she has a giant crystal and rock collection sitting in her room?  Trust me, she’s got at least a handful of pebbles in her pillow-case.


When it comes to the beauty of life (especially crystals), Sally always embraces things for what it is, rather than the benefits.  A generous, carefree soul her mother raised — but if something were to ever happen to her… it might be difficult to put Sally back on her feet.  No matter what, they will always have room for another friend.  You can count on her, anyday!

SPECIFICATIONS FOR VOICE:
Looking for a soft, yet medium range voice.  Any gender can audition, but feminine voice recommended.

Recommended slight-Australian accent but not required.  

Good natured, grounded with free-spirit and expresses energy when excited.  Firece.

Wanting a voice similar to Bridgette from Total Drama, Ibara Naruse from Coppelion or anything that matches!

CHARACTER BIO: 

Rana is a side character to Roses Beneath.  They are a venus-flytrap creature.  Rana is a playful, but vicious plant who feasts on the smallest of insects and parasites that are in the way of the forests in Everfall.  They lurk in the shadows, or hide inside of your life-sized kitchen cubby.  He has a habit of chasing off those who disturb their meal time.

Throughout the course of time, Rana has become hungrier with anticipation.   They're quite capable of protecting themselves, and aren't afraid to wreck havoc.  Some who have ventured within the Everfall forests recall them being difficult to escape (but is mostly harmless to those who mean well).  Many things pike curiosity, and when sat down they're eager to learn.  Turns out Rana has a pack of friends to bug.


Rana has had a secret craving for a place to belong.  As their trickish behavior takes up their idea of fun, they can't help but hide insecurity for other's perception.  Playing the part of a monster can sometimes get draining... but their friends are right there to affirm them!  He can't be too hard to get along with, right?  Wait.. Rana, put that vase down.  Please.


SPECIFICATIONS FOR VOICE:

Any gender can audition.  I’m looking for a voice that feels similar to Gaz from Invader Zim or Roxie from Scott Pilgrim.  A mixture of both.  Playful, yet can be threatening and gnaw-like.  A pitch like theirs or in between.  Little hisses.

CHARACTER BIO:

Cider is a side character to Roses Beneath.  He is an anthropomorphic squirrel.   He is a baker who once lived in the calming forests.  Inside a wooden cottage, Cider spent his days warming up bread and goods while keeping close in touch with his loving parents.  He is described as the joy of Sally's group, bringing the whole group together with his warm aura.


This squirrel is rather sociable, but can be shy around new folks.  He has eagerness and an earnest craving for trying new things.  Cider is also quite resourceful, always wanting to lend a helping hand.  He does however fluster up when receiving affection.  Our lovely baker friend finds his true self when he is around his group of pals, who are always there to lift him up.  It's a treat when he has freshly baked apple pie for the evening -- it's his specialty!


The forest is a place Cider holds close to him.  All of nature deeply soothes this bumbling apple critter when he needs to distress!  He's a friendly shoulder who you could cry on or gain advice from.  He tries to remain calm throughout all scenarios, even if it worries his friends.   As for how he's holding up from the disaster... that's up for you to find out.  


SPECIFICATIONS FOR VOICE:

Looking for a gentle, warm medium to slightly high range voice.  Any gender can audition, but masculine voice recommended.

No accent preferences, but feel free to improvise if you think it suits the role.

They can also create rough (or even clean if in ability) animatics for the larger scenes, but these can also be used for standard scenes with specific visual choices of monochromatic backgrounds / colors!  Great examples of this can be found with animatics of Epic: The Musical, DSMP (Just an example), and other various animatics on Youtube!


Storyboards can be started via traditional if wanted, but highly recommend if you finalize with digital.
