"Ash the Cyndaquil sets off on a journey to find his uncle Lance, one of the most famous explorers in the world, in hopes of providing his niece the best life he can. Along the way, he faces many obstacles and meets many new friends on his journey."

Hello everyone! I'm currently looking for Video Editors and Voice Actors to help out with a new series I'm working on dubbing called Rising Ashes. This is the first of many casting calls, so keep an eye out!

Basic Requirements:

  • A semi-reasonable Microphone with little to no background noise.

  • MUST be 13+, due to the main source of communication for this project being Discord.

  • Be able to raise your voice! Some scenes may require a lot of shouting or screaming in order to convey emotion.

  • Audition if you know you'll be able to stick around for the whole series.

  • If you get the role, please try your best to submit lines on time. If you can't get your lines in on the required date, let me know beforehand!

If you're chosen, you will be invited to a Discord server made by me to talk about further details. CCC or email is an option for communication, but not recommended. Roles usually aren't chosen until deadlines are up unless I'm absolutely confident on who I'm choosing.

    I just wanted to thank all of you for the massive amount of support this project is getting. This has been the most submissions I've ever received in any casting call I've done so far. Many thanks to the people who auditioned or even viewed this project in the first place.

    With the deadline soon approaching, I'm taking careful consideration to make sure I know who I will choose. If you haven't already, make sure to get in any auditions you plan on doing by the 27th! If you're not chosen, please know more casting calls will be available in the future to show off your talents.   • I'm specifically looking for people that have some experience with editing comics related dubs like this one. It's optional, but it'll definitely boost your chances of getting picked if you do. If you happen to have some examples of work you've done, sent some links here.
  • Placements of lines and background music/sound effects for different scenes are super essential.
  • Files will be given when all voice actors have completed their lines and when we're ready to move on to the editing process.
  • It's also recommended that you're somewhat familiar with the story and characters of Rising Ashes.

Ash is the main character of Rising Ashes. While the story progresses, it's stated by others and even himself that he has gone through multiple counts of bereavement, like losing his brother, Kai, and losing contact with his uncle, Lance, after his death. You can only imagine his emotions when his caretakers, Aunt Coral and Aunt Myrtle, break the news that they're giving his niece, still just an egg at this time, to his uncle Sonny because of financial hardships. Thinking on his feet, and finally with the permission of his caretakers, he takes his niece and adventures out of Tohjo Town to find his uncle Lance, thinking that he could provide his niece with the best life possible. 


For now, his voice is totally up to you! Just remember: He's a young adult, around 18, middle pitched.

  • [Reacting to Aunt Coral and Aunt Myrtle's news of giving up his niece, absolutely distraught and devastated.] "You won't really give her away, right? She's my family. She's all that's left of my brother. I can't leave her."

  • [After the news, Ash begins to storm out of the room, being stopped by Aunt Coral. She is hugging him tightly, begging him not to leave, as he speaks in a sad tone, switching to a more furious one towards the end.] "Let me go... I SAID LET GO OF ME."

  • [Silver decides to walk with Ash to the end of town when he decides to start his adventure; said in a sarcastic, joking manner.] "Ah, so I'm stuck with you for another few minutes. Yay. Try not to get lost."

Silver has an important role in Rising Ashes. Silver is Ash's younger brother and close friend (for reference, Silver is around the age of 14 while Ash is 18). Ash had an enduring impact on the young kid, really bringing him out of his shell to form who he was today. You can imagine his emotions when Ash makes the sudden decision to leave their hometown to find uncle Lance to give Ash's niece a much better life. He displays anger, aggression, and even violence as the story progresses...


For now, his voice is totally up to you! Just remember: a bit on the younger side, perhaps medium to high voice might suit him well.

  • [Trying to convince Ash to stay and not leave him behind.] "I need you, Ash. I was nothing before I met you. You're everything to me... who am I without you?"

  • [Silver's response to Ash teasing him about how young he is compared to him.] "Heh... you're just mad because you're short!"

Coral [Supporting]

Role assigned to: Killian Kas

Coral is one of the supporting characters in Rising Ashes. She lives her lover, Myrtle, and their son's, Ash and Silver. I would imagine her being the "less fun parent", probably being a little more strict than Myrtle. But she's not all bad, she's truly caring and providing, making sure her kids come first always. 


For now, this voice is up to you! Just remember: female adult, maybe a middle pitched female voice.

  • [Hugging Ash, preventing him from leaving any further, talking in a sad, depressed tone.] "Ash, buddy, stop.. Don't run away. We need to talk about this..."

  • [Explaining to Ash about the current state his uncle, Lance, is in.] "Ash, you have to understand that... Lance does love you very much. But he's not in a position to take care for you. I retired, but he's still busy with his work as leader of the top exploration team."

  • [Comforting Ash while he cries in her arms.] "Sweetie..."

Myrtle is another supporting character in Rising Ashes. She lives her lover, Coral, and their son's, Ash and Silver. I would imagine her to be the more fun parent out of the two, being a little less involved regarding tough decision making.

For now, this voice is up to you! Just remember:female adult, perhaps a lower pitched female voiced would fit her.

  • [Talking to Coral, wondering where her son must've ran off too.] "I know my son. He's getting into trouble as we speak..."
