Riptide: Episode 2 Casting Call (Animated Series)
Project Overview
Intro:
Hello all! I’m Sophia, the director and animator of the show “Riptide”, written by CrimsonFlame_Arts (@nurthemothman), on YouTube! I’m here looking for voice talents for episode 2 of my show. Let’s get into it!
Synapsis:Riptide is a PG-13 animated fiction comedy. The show revolves around the lives of Wren, Owen, Stella, Kai, and Violet; 5 adolescents trying to figure out their feelings toward each other and the world around them. The show begins as a comedic, laid-back, slice-of-life story, but quickly progresses into a more serious, action-packed drama as new faces threaten the peace and safety of our main characters. The overall vibe of the show is light-hearted, feel-good, silly, and relatable. The show takes place in the early 2010’s with themes of: Identity (neurodivergency, culture), love (including LGBTQIA+), courage, friendship, family, and many more!
By auditioning, you understand + agree to all these rules and guidelines:You must be 16+ to audition and be a part of the project.
You must have Discord and include it in your audition, as Discord will be our main form of communication.
If you are selected as a voice actor, you must join a production-only Discord server for the project.
You must abide by the deadlines given to submit your lines. For each episode, voice actors are given 2 weeks to send in their lines after receiving the script. An additional week is granted if needed.
You must be open to possible line retakes and constructive criticism of your lines.
Medium to high quality mic only with little to no background noise.
This is a long-term project. If you are unsure or doubt your ability to commit to something like this, please avoid auditioning.
Leaking/sharing of the script is strictly prohibited and will result in you being permanently removed from the project.
Please record your audition lines in a AAABBBCCC format.
Riptide is generally a PG-13 show, however some episodes contain more mature topics/themes.
Some characters do use vulgarity, please ask before auditioning if this is an issue.
Voice actors will not be paid, as this is a volunteer project.

As said in rule 4, voice actors will be given 2 weeks to complete their lines after receiving the script. An additional week may be granted if said voice actor needs it. If a voice actor refuses to communicate or "ghost" Crimson or I, they will be replaced promptly in order to keep production of the episode rolling. Voice actors should be ok with possible line retakes and constructive criticism in order to get lines just right. Voice actors are also expected to communicate and converse with other members of the team respectfully and maturely to create a friendly, warm energy to the team. Once the episode is completed, voice actors will be noted in the episode credits and a link to one of your socials in the description.

She feels her emotions very strongly, and tends to yell and scream, ALOT. She says many off-color and out-of-pocket things that hurt people. Violet should have a strong voice with the capability of showing lots of emotion. Also if you want to voice her be prepared to yell/scream…alot.

Friendly, upbeat, silly, positive, fun, awkward, shy but he can also be very confident and assertive. He's kind, calm and chill. He tries to keep the peace and is always empathetic. He has a calm, reassuring voice. Kai easily gets excited and wound-up, especially around his close friends. However, he can be shy and timid around people he looks up to. Also, Kai loveeees music, so I’m looking for someone who can sing or be comfortable trying to sing. Kai should have a more mature voice with lots of energy. But also the ability to be assertive and dominant as well as shy and unsure. His voice actor should also be able to sing some-what.

She’s the captain of her cheer team and loves attention. She loves showing off her most expensive possessions and making other people feel bad about themselves. She's friends with Kai and Jayden.
