This is a casting call for Revelations Duel Arena - Fractured Destiny, Season 2 a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan series.
Duel Arena (as we call it for short) is a series of animatics which have dueling as their main focus. It takes place in the same universe as our live action series, Revelations of the Seal of Orichalcos. For those who are unfamiliar with Yugioh, dueling is what it is referred to as when characters battle in a game using trading cards. Sometimes with life or death at stake. Devices called Duel Disks worn on the arm, bring the monsters to life in the form of holograms. The game involves monsters, spells and traps. In a nutshell, a player wins the duel by reducing the other players lifepoints to zero.
Duel Arena follows three main characters Sebastian Grey, Zeke Elmstone and Hikari Sedo, as they try to survive in a world that has been overtaken by Valtor's Empire. After surviving the threats they faced in Season 1, new enemies will arise and the stakes have never been higher. We're looking for several varying voice roles. Most of the characters appear in a single episode, however the main characters will be appearing in several throughout the series.
These are unpaid roles, but we can send you a copy of the finished scenes and any clips for use in a demo reel if you like. We have a discord put together to keep in contact during production, as well as to post updates.
Each episode typically opens with a narrator giving some opening backstory, followed by a duel, which is the center point of each episode. The episodes are be created in the form of animatics, so they have a limited amount of animation. The voices are what will bring the characters to life. The scripts for the episodes have been completed, and there are plans for a third season in the works.
These are "dueling roles" which means the character will actively be participating in a duel. You don't need to be familiar with Yugioh to perform these roles, all of the duel terminology has been placed into the scripts. The voices are typically animated and exaggerated, I find that this type of tone helps sell the intensity of the scene, since essentially, duels are battle scenes that sometimes have life or death at stake.

What I need from you
I'm looking for cast members who are passionate and interested in the project
Please submit clean recordings (no air conditioners, no fans) please let me handle the post production on your lines. Don't add effects to your lines
Please submit your recordings as one .wav or .mp3 file to the director via Discord, we will invite you to the server once you have been cast
We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, usually for pronunciation purposes, since there are some strangely named cards or characters, but feel free to ask if you're not sure and we'll be happy to help with things like that!
Since we are planning on producing a couple more seasons of Duel Arena we'd like to cast people who might be interested in reprising the roles of characters some point down the line if we'd like them to reappear.
We likely won't be making any casting decisions until near or after the deadline, to give us a chance to reflect on all the auditions.

I am Tyler, the creator of the Yugioh Live Action web series, Revelations of the Seal of Orichalcos. Once cast, i'll be putting you in contact with Josh, the writer and director of Duel Arena, where he will direct you on what you needs for the show! Due to the number of auditions we usually get, I'll only be contacting those who have been cast in a role, after the auditions have concluded.

A notorious bounty hunter working in the criminal underworld. Cool, collected, and confident, The Hunter dispatches any target assigned to him without mercy. He keeps his alliances fluid, often pitting potential “business partners” against one another to find the highest bidder. His record is far from flawless, but he’s earned enough results to justify his pay. The Hunter is selfish, only focusing on himself, uninterested in the problems of others, unless they happen to benefit his paycheck. He still operates under a certain code of conduct, as he is well aware being unscrupulous is bad for business. The only thing he fears is a good deal gone bad. He knows his work comes with great risk. He often contemplates a path of escape if things don’t go as planned.

Brave, bold, and confident, The Diva comes from a family line of strong duelists. Her father never made it to the #1 spot, but everyone respected his talent for Duel Monsters. The Diva inherited many of her father’s talents, making her a natural duelist. She questions if she truly wants to follow in her father’s footsteps. Filled with uncertainty, she strives to live in the moment and make the most of each day. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks through nature, using it as an opportunity to clear her mind and enjoy the natural beauty of her home world. The Diva's greatest talents lie in her unfaltering dedication and focus on her goals. She doesn’t let herself get distracted easily. This doesn’t come at the expense of her personal relationships, as she cherishes her close friends and family dearly. Her greatest weakness lies in her own self-confidence. Charging boldly towards her goals, she often lacks awareness when things are becoming too difficult. Refusing to ask for help, She strongly believes she has the power to overcome any obstacle.

A local duelist for hire within the criminal Underworld of Duel Monsters. Brash and overconfident, he cares little for his opponents. He recognizes the Underworld for what it is: an uncaring place where the strong thrive. Taking payment from the highest bidder, this duelist has no allegiances to any cause. He prefers it this way, as it keeps his affairs clean and simple. He keeps a sharp eye for his next mark, never dismissing any job.......as long as the price is right. He always focuses on creating a threatening aura, fearful of the others within the criminal Underworld who might prey upon his inner weakness.

A common footsoldier under the command of the Order of Eternity, an advanced race of machines. Adhering to the "supreme directive", it follows any command given without hesitation. Cold and calculating, the Footsoldier is most frequently seen on the frontlines of the battalion units. Every aspect of its design is geared with combat in mind. These units are mass produced and well-known for their efficiency. Moving on the battlefield with surgical precision, they are adept at finding creative solutions when presented with obstacles. The Footsoldier is a highly competent and dangerous foe, especially for those who are unprepared for the danger they represent.

Proud, suave, and assertive, The Desperado is a young, up-and-coming duelist seeking to forge his own path within the Underworld of Duel Monsters. He spent years dealing with various rivals who could never back up their words with their actions. Consequently, he became disgusted with many of the competitors he encountered. Losing his sense of empathy, he’s come to see most duelists as worthless, and dispatches them without mercy. Distracting his adversaries with sleight of hand and various other tactics, he derives great joy from proving their ineptitude. As a result, he has a tendency to underestimate nearly every duelist he meets. He secretly hopes to find someone who’s worth his time, but continued disappointment has only reinforced his negative assumptions. Moving from one job to the next, he is quickly gaining recognition as a force to be reckoned with.

Treasure Hunter. Gambler. Duelist. Even taking bounty work from time to time, The Scavenger is many things. After dropping out of school during his teen years, he always sought a way to beat the system, often taking very risky work. His debts accumulated quickly. Just when things would turn around, the collectors would conveniently arrive, leaving him with next to nothing. This forced The Scavenger into an endless cycle of jumping from one questionable lead to the next. In a constant race to stay ahead of his increasing debts, he pursues each hunt with equal measures of wit and desperation. Jedidiah keeps foraging ahead, seeking a way to provide for his family, so they can enjoy the life he never had. Unfortunately, this has caused him to spend weeks or even months away from the people he cherishes most. As he looks to the future, he truly wonders if he can ever escape the life he inadvertently created for himself.

A ruthless leader who dwells within the Savage Lands. A near-uninhavitable wasteland, ravaged by the war in the early formative years of the Empire’s foundation. He leads a gang of cut-throat minions, inspiring fear in any foolish enough to believe they can take his place. He believes in might above all elseand will stoop to nearly any level to get what he wants. The Slaver constantly seeks new forms of sport:Racing, slave-trade, black market weapons, or anything else that can bring him power. Refusing to stayin any one place for too long, The Slaver leads his minions across the Savage Lands, seeking to gain anyresources he can find. Rather than killing those who cross him, he prefers to enslave them instead,forcing his victims to live a miserable life at his heel. Terrorizing the area with an aura of fear and an ironfist, the local denizens know his reputation well enough to flee his presence.

The Child, is a kindergartener, who lives within The Unity, the capital of The Empire, with his mother. He gained an interest in Duel Monsters on the schoolyard, as most children do. His deck is comprised of cards that he pulled from packs that his mother bought for him over time. He idolizes the current Duel Monster's champion, Sebastian Grey, as well as the Emperor, Valtor, seeing them as heroes who protect everyone from the "bad guys". He has a very energetic personality, often acting before thinking

The Child's mother. She was a citizen of the Empire, joining during the rise of the Empire. Due to her prestigious status, she lives in The Unity with her son. She currently resides in the New Persepolis City hospital, after coming down with a mysterious illness. Typically a kind woman, her strength has been sapped by her illness as of late.
