Project Overview
Hello, and welcome to the Idol Franchise, Retrospective!
What is Retrospective?
Retrospective is a Virtual Idol Project, focusing on stories and music, mainly portrayed by Visual Novels, Animation, and Music Videos.
Retrospective has been in the works for about a year or more, and is now starting to pick itself back up!
What is the base storyline?
Emily Patterson moves from the US to Japan, deadset on becoming an idol. She wants to start a School Idol Group at the school she got a scholarship to, Nokokomi Music Academy. Though, once she learns there is already an idol group, she decides to do whatever she can to not let that stop her!
Considering the school is about music and music groups, she is allowed to start one herself!
Although, when moving into her new neighborhood, she meets a girl named Kimiko...
What will I gain from this project?
If we end up getting a bunch of supporters, it may become funded, but as of now, this is for fun and for experience! It's also worth it to see the outcome of something awesome!
What do you have planned for Retrospective?
We plan on writing a story, Visual Novel, possible Dating Sim or AU Visual novel for fun, an Anime or animatic with a storyline and Voice acting, Original songs, MMD Animated songs and dances, and other fun things!
What music genre's are going to be included?
Lots of genre's! If you have an idea for one, let me know! We will definitely have pop, J pop, Techno, Rock, Pop rock, and others!
To be honest I don't know every genre and what song fits into what genre, so I just think of melodies and let others determine the genre, but I will try to find out more about music genres!
Idol franchise? As in more than one group?
Yes! We currently have a couple of groups, with our main one being the face of Retrospective.
What topics will the story be dealing with?
This project will be dealing with heavy and possibly triggering topics throughout the story and music. The original idea was that each character had some sort of trauma or background they have to overcome and look back on, or face in the present. The storyline won't focus solely on idols, and may even take some drastic and horrifying turns.
This project will be dealing with sensitive topics, so please be warned of that.
Will there be romance?
Hell yes. Mainly Lesbian romance. We will not try to hide it either, some of the ships are main plotlines.
Please note that we do not condone a lot of the things shown in the storyline. This was most likely obvious, but it needed to be stated.

Possible voices of background characters, major characters, minor characters, etc. Please note that if you also audition for Vocalist, you are more likely to be cast as a more major character.
Please input a demo reel of voices you can do, and then join the Discord to finalize! This helps me keep track of things more!

Sing any song in Japanese or English, but sing in the language you are auditioning for!
