Retrospective - A Virtual Idol Project!
Project Overview
Hello! Do you love Idol groups? Do you wanna help out with one, or just support it? Look no further! Retrospective is here to warm your heart with their mainly Pop, Rock, and Techno songs! Of course they do as many genres that fit their style that comes to mind! But hold on! It's not just in English! We're totally gonna have a Japanese dub too! If we can get enough translators that is... Anyway! We are in need of Artists, Mixers, Editors, Composers, Vocalists, Writers, Lineartists, Voice Actors, Translators, basically anything you can think of! Only three characters of the English dub have been cast! This group consists of nine girls, each with different personalities and pasts they're trying to run away from. Can they set aside their differences and work together as an idol group? Will their pasts catch up with them? What crazy hi-jinks will ensue in this world? Find out soon enough! If you could help out that would mean a lot, we are all working very hard on the project and would love your support!

Airi Chibana is a mom friend, but baby at the same time. Due to her having many younger siblings and having to take care of them, she was forced to grow up at a young age, also leaving her to be an age regressor, sometimes acting like a child, which kind of helps her idol persona. She is incredibly sweet and loving and loves childish and cute things. She doesn't really like mean people and doesn't get along with them very well, which is a reason she doesn't mix well with Keiko, although she loves Keiko's clothing style.
“Sorry you had to come over.. This place is such a mess-" (Sibling starts messing with something so Airi turns) "No, don’t touch that! You’re gonna break it!!" (Airi turns back to Amy) Ah, sorry, siblings can be a handful… ahaha-”

Dresses in gothic lolita and struggles with anger management problems. The juxtaposition between her dress style and her personality is so jarring that many people think it’s funny. Most are wise enough to not laugh at Keiko, though. She's aggressive, violent, swears a lot and prefers the violent way to the peaceful way. She struggles with her words quite a bit, not being the most eloquent sort when it comes to speech. She is smart and loyal, however, and would consider herself to be quite calculating. She doesn't get along that well with Airi, because she prefers peace to aggression, which Keiko doesn't necessarily agree with. Her parents shout at her regularly, but she's learned to shout back and not let them harass her. Despite her personality, she took five years of dance lessons, also studying idol dances a lot as well. This made her take on the role of Co Choreographer. Her dad is in jail for being a serial killer, but she doesn’t talk about it much in fear of people thinking she’s outright evil. Because of this her and her mom fight quite a bit.

She’s a nice girl with a love of emo, goth, and other types of alternative music. She does like other kinds, but she really likes the heavy stuff despite her appearance. Although she can be rather shy at times she acts quite over the top when she feels comfortable enough to. She has a rather overactive imagination and sometimes blurs the lines of fiction and reality in her own mind. She often acts as though she has some sort of magical power that she must hide and contain but this is all in her head and a way she tries to make herself seem a little more scary, which is difficult as she is rather small. She often puts in a colourful contact lense in order to further prove the idea that she is a magical being ,however, when she is at practice she often forgets to use them. When she is at home she often has to drop the act and act very formally as her parents are rather strict about her behaviour and the way she dresses. On some days she will have to carry around a spare outfit to change into before she goes home. Other times she sneaks into her house and prays that her family don't notice her come in. She plans to tell her family about the idol group one day but is afraid they won't accept her for it and possibly even tell her she has to leave. One of her hobbies that her parents are actually ok with is she likes to collect gemstones. She believes that they hold some great, unknown power within them and often likes to wear pieces of jewelry with things like amethyst or snowflake obsidian on them as she read in a book that they hold the power to relax and clear the mind, which often helps before a performance. Amy is the smallest of the group of girls. Her favourite food is New York style cheesecake. She will often add on her own little toppings like chocolate sauce or sprinkles and such when no one is looking. Her favourite animals are red pandas. She finds their curious and slightly ditzy behaviour to be absolutely adorable and would own one as a pet if she could however if someone were to ask her what her favourite animal is she will usually say something bigger and scarier, like a panther, to go with her whole powerful persona.

Moved from Britain to France at age 10, and France to Japan at age 14. She loves writing and is a Journalist, as well as someone who sings in their free time. She is a sweet girl and loves nature, fascinated by it. She also loves Photography, and has many hobbies. She wants to visit many different countries in her lifetime. She cries a bit easily, but not nearly as much as Amelia.
She seems to be quite satisfied in life, although she is a bit closed off when it comes to her inner feelings. Still, people at school and in the idol group view her as very happy-go-lucky and cheerful.
When she gets stressed or upset, she will immediately go on a hike in the woods by her house. She is intent on making sure that she doesn’t fall into any unhealthy coping mechanisms or habits, so she’s constantly looking for ways to calm herself down. This includes her hiking, tree-climbing, and many more activities. She doesn’t exercise with the intent of being skinny or fit, but it’s definitely a bonus.
Kennedy would simply rather die than burden others with her problems. Thankfully, she seems extremely in touch with her emotions on the inside and doesn’t seem depressed. If she was, bad things might happen. Her family is intent on her becoming a teacher, scholar, or something equally boring, but Kennedy could want the farthest from that. She wants to travel for a living, despite knowing it’s a lost cause. Her parents would never pay for it, and so she can’t get a start. She’s actually been saving money since the age of twelve so that when she’s old enough, she might have a chance at being able to travel.

She's obsessed with astronomy, demonology, and anything supernatural. She believes that she's actually a demon from another world, thrown into this one against her own will. She looks to the stars every night in the hopes of finally finding her real family, because her current one doesn’t give her any attention and even abandons her sometimes, being part of the foster care system. She moved to Japan with her newest adoptive parents, who try to provide the best care that they can to a child that isn't sure she wants it anymore. She’s usually a nice girl, but cross her and you’ll get the stars knocked out of your eyes. She took ten years of dance lessons, so she naturally took on the role of the main choreographer. Although she gets into disagreements with the co choreographer, Keiko, they usually get the dance steps done in time.

Often known as the 'crybaby' of the group. She's incredibly fragile and cries more than Kennedy, even. She struggles with her self-esteem and finds herself lost in her thoughts more often than not. She dissociates frequently and has lots of trouble at home, because her parents neglected her as a child, leaving her with a lot of emotional difficulties. She enjoys painting, singing, and watching meme compilations, even if she can't always find the confidence to send them to people. She tries the best she can to get over her constant sadness, but what she really needs is to finally tell someone about how she feels. She’s really sweet and is kind to everyone. Though she can be a bit timid, when you open up to her she’s really quite the sweetheart. She uses the idol group to be something she always wanted to be. She likes to watch Camp Camp a lot and likes to relate to the character Max in a way, also loving the crazy hijinks he gets himself and his friends into. She also loves watching shows with Magical girls, like Glitter Force. She relates a lot to the character Lily and thinks she is just adorable. She is one of the composers and lyricists in the group, and loves jotting down heartfelt ideas. Writing has always been something that helped her calm down in so many ways, and she wants to reach people with her words and soothing melodies. Although she is seen as shy, that's not all she's out to be. She's actually quite the silly girl if you get to know her! She loves McDonald's! Especially their French Fries ;P It’s a little difficult for her to get close to people, but when she does, she’ll do almost anything for them. She likes to randomly give her friends hand-made gifts, with baked goods and worm crowns being the main examples.Like Emily, Amelia is a cosplayer, and she sometimes cosplays with her when they hang out. She tends to cope with her trauma with humor, making her the joker of most groups. Because of that, she gets along well with all the guys in the boy band, and she hangs out with them often.

She originally moved to Japan from America, which prior to Japan, she lived in Minnesota. She had moved to Japan three years before the events of this story, becoming closer to Kimiko around two months into her moving.
Her parents used to fight a lot more than they do now. Her mom doesn’t really love her father like a romantic partner, them almost getting a divorce multiple times. Her parents are basically just friends that are married, and they originally didn’t get divorced for financial reasons. Sometimes when she and her parents “fought” or fought, She’d get really anxious and lash out. They mostly have mini fights, that make Emily have an anxiety attack. When someone yells at her and keeps doing so and possibly chasing her or backing her into a corner, she acts as though they are about to hit her, and when she did this to her mom she was little, her mom would get more mad at her, not liking that she did that, probably because she didn’t want her to be scared of her.
Emily's personality can fluctuate depending on what she’s feeling or what’s going on at the time, although she sometimes feels sad or depressed for no reason.
Her parents do love her very much though. She also used to get bullied, taunted, and taken advantage of. She comes off as awkward and in middle school around a lot of people that gave off a bad vibe, appeared bored and as if she didn’t give a shit.
Although sweet and kind to as many people as she can be, she is quite interested in the Horror genre, it always being fascinating to her.
Emily loves Memes, and also becomes a Therapist friend to Amelia at first.
Emily tries to be there for everyone she can be, wanting to help as many people as possible. One of her backup plans was to become a Therapist or a School Counselor someday. She had a bond with her Counselor and Music Teacher in Elementary school, due to her going to the Counselor a lot and her being really into music. She was always passionate about music.
She’s naturally good at a lot of things like Cooking, and doesn’t understand how you can mess up some types of cooking. She’s also good at Baking, Singing, Acting, Designing, Dancing (When given the choreography), and possibly others. She’s at least decent at Sewing, Drawing, and is also a Cosplayer. She also really likes Video games.
She cooks and bakes for the idol group, often bringing in cupcakes! She makes different foods sometimes, and tries to bring more cultures into the group. She also really likes Sushi.
Her favorite Drinks are Raspberry Iced Tea and Virgin Pina Coladas, often bringing some tea in for everyone else.
She loves Reading and Writing! She was actually a really fast learner as a child. She was really good at Reading and Writing from a young age. She is inspirational and tries to hold the group together, although it can be hard with her self esteem issues. Emily has a lot of Anxiety, as well as Depression, ADHD, SPD, and possibly others, she is still trying to act like everything is fine.

She's a mean person who considers herself better than everyone else. She struggles with her superiority complex because as a child she was always told that she was worse than everyone else and would never amount to anything. To cope, she told herself she was better than she was to get over the tremendous grief the bullying caused her. She ended up believing it, which is why she is so mean to everyone these days. Inside, though, is an incredibly nice person who is sweet and kind to everyone. She used to have long hair and would wear it in a ponytail. Her hair was *very* long and her parents wouldn’t let her cut it. It almost touched the ground long. Due to her trauma, when she got older she chopped off her hair and refuses to grow it out. She has an obsession with the color yellow, and declares that yellow is her color. Around the audience, she is all cutesy and bubbly, but around the idols is straightforward and a bit rude. Kinda like Nico Yazawa from Love Live. She knows a lot about idols and really likes them. It was something that always brought her comfort, and Emily wanted to start it to try and surprise her, as well as lift her spirits. She is very close to Emily and lets herself show around her more often than not. She’s kind of a Tsundere mixed with a Himedere when it comes to love, as well as her being a Lesbian. That’s one reason she was bullied so badly, even by her parents. Her parents would emotionally abuse her a lot. She’s mainly mean in an attempt to push people away for her, and making sure no one dares to make fun of her again. She ADORES Chinese food and Sushi, them being her favorite types of food. She likes eating whatever Emily decides to cook or bake, being her taste tester most of the time. She sometimes plays video games with Emily or watches her play them. She actually really likes video games. She tries to be cute in an anime girl and a shota boy sense at the same time on stage. She likes appearing as soft and adorable as her character, feeling like she can finally be someone that people won’t judge so harshly. She is part American, and her dad was a blonde guy.
