Retro Horror Movie Soundtrack
Project Overview
Wildlore Records presents a unique opportunity to be part of Operation Midnight’s second album, a chilling homage to the classic horror films of the late ’80s and early ’90s. This ambitious project blends retro synthwave music with cinematic storytelling, creating an immersive audio experience that transports listeners into a world of suspense, supernatural thrills, and eerie nostalgia.
The album draws inspiration from iconic horror films such as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Lost Boys, capturing the era’s unmistakable atmosphere. Voice actors will portray key characters in scripted scenes, weaving sinister tales of suburban legends, missing teens, and the creeping unease of small-town horror.
This is a passion project of Jonathan Wolfe's and designed for fans of retro music and horror classics, brought to life with atmospheric synths, haunting melodies, and compelling voice performances. Whether you’re a seasoned voice actor or a natural talent looking to bring these stories to life, your voice could be the perfect fit for this nostalgic and spine-tingling adventure.
PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for AMERICAN voice actors, or actors who can do a very convincing American accent. Do not apply if you have a strong European accent.
Please have a listen to Operation Midnight's track Paramour Echo to get an idea of the style of music: https://soundcloud.com/operationmidnight/paramour-echo
This is a track from the 2024 album and will not be included in the project.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Matt

Wildlore Records is seeking multiple voice actors for an ambitious electronic music concept album by the artist Operation Midnight. This unique project requires at least 12 voice actors, including two adults and younger actors who can convincingly voice teenage characters (ages 14–21).
The album is based on an original horror story set in 1988, unfolding in a fictional American town. Inspired by classics like Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Lost Boys, the story is told through a mix of narrative-driven scenes and interview-style recordings, capturing eyewitness accounts of sinister and supernatural events. The album blends eerie storytelling with a retro synth-driven soundtrack, fully immersing listeners in its late-’80s horror aesthetic.
All actors must be American or provide an extremely authentic American accent, as the setting requires a natural and believable portrayal of U.S.-based characters. Actors will be provided with a script and must have a natural ability to dramatize their voices with convincing emotion and nuance. Some roles will require dramatic performances, while others will involve delivering realistic, interview-style dialogue to create an authentic sense of mystery and suspense.
Previous experience is not required, but passion, creativity, and the ability to deliver a strong performance are essential. This is primarily a volunteer opportunity, ideal for those looking to gain experience and be part of an exciting creative project. While payment is not guaranteed, there is a possibility of compensation depending on the project’s success and the quality of the recordings.
If you’re interested in bringing these characters to life and becoming part of this unique production, we encourage you to apply!

“Some kids here act like he’s not real—like they’ve been taught to ignore him. But the more you look away, the more real he becomes.”
“Davey always took the back way home—past the basketball court, across the oval, and through the woods. I used to watch him from the oval. No one talked to him… and then, one day, he was just gone.”
“That summer, kids started disappearing. It was like they’d never been here at all. Except Shelly—I noticed her. She had that big smile… and those awful braces.”
