REPOSE | Destiny 2 Machinima | Various character/project casting

REPOSE | Destiny 2 Machinima | Various character/project casting

Project Overview

From the Holy Shores of Miagesh, and the tunnels of Mars Site IV, to the violent forests of Keva. The story in Repose spans many worlds, characters, and events. Battles with light and dark. Familial trials. Relationships. Sibling control. Religion and Spirituality. Many themes and ideas will be explored. Some serious, others joyful and pure. Like the name suggests peace and tranquility are at the center of some of these characters. Some motives will be understandable. Others, a bit harder to sympathize with. I hope you grow to be invested in this story, as I have worked on it.

The project is an original concept. It will use Destiny 2 as its form for its story, however, it IS NOT set in the Destiny universe. No previous canonical knowledge is necessary from the actors. Worlds, beliefs, and characters were formed for this story. Repose is being established as something I can continually come back to and delve into further.

Roles labeled "Expulsion appearance" (Drafting / Soon to begin filming)
- Expulsion will serve as a prologue of the events that occur in Flight 2. The flight mainly focuses on a different slew of characters, with ulterior motives. The basic plot is The Myriad now holds full control of the city of Keva. Keva's Fallen, a band of citizens are being hunted by The Myriad and there psychotic leader, Loomis Conway. Expulsion tells the story of the massacre that caused the overthrowing of the city and the many lives that were displaced because of it.
The project will contain violence and language.

Roles labeled "Sublime appearance" (Pre-production)

- Sublime, takes place several years before the events of Chapter 1. The basic synopsis follows a small research team, investigating the grounds of a future station on Earth's moon. Mac, is the field analyst. Stella, is the liaison guiding Mac through his duties. Mac uncovers an ancient tomb which houses the Epparia of a long-forgotten deity, Siozan. Upon touching the structure, the human releases a spectre who has not seen a human being in nearly a millennia. What the God shows Mac, will alter his path forever.

Roles labeled "Demur appearance" (Pre-production)

- Demur, tells the story of a seasoned public relations official to Glidewell Incorporated. The official is Teemo Sarick.  His tasks have grown mischievous to the cause of the enigmatic Mr. Glidewell. Teemo and his wife, Farina believe they have found Haisias, the God of Earth's, Epparia. They are communing with it to find Miagesh. This project is meant to bridge the gap of the appearance of Mr. Glidewell between Chapter's 1 & 2. This script will quite dialogue-heavy. Clear audio is a must. I am tossing around the idea of implementing a small series of "podcast-type" episodes to accompany this project. They will be various audio entries by Teemo and his wife, Farina,  as they log their task of smuggling citizens off of Earth.

Roles labeled "Chapter 4 appearance" (Drafting / Soon to begin filming)

- Chapter 4 is the end of Flight 1. It is going to be split into 2 parts. I don't want to give away too many plot details here. Most of the characters here are main's in later Flights.

Roles labeled "Freeman appearance" (Drafting / Soon to begin filming)
- Freeman, tells the story of a young man by the name of Freeman, on the run from a group referred to as The Myriad. The man is being hunted by the group. Finding refuge in a beaten shack, he mends his wounds and searches for an escape route. This project will serve as an introduction to the group responsible for the massacre of Keva in "Expulsion."

This project will contain violence and language.

LOGISTICS

    • The project (s) are UNPAID. I do this out of a love for filmmaking and storytelling. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
    • The world is always evolving. Story's will be told in the past and present, often building on pre-established notions/ideas. The character's project will be listed in the description of their role. I am casting in advance on many of the small "tales", which take place in the universe. There may be a gap between now and when your respective project releases. There is a roadmap for these stories, all will happen in due time.
    • The preferred mode of communication will be Discord. Please have an account set up, as this is where the script, character designs, music playlists, and cast read-throughs will occur. My email will be provided to those cast. Other arrangements can be made, though Discord will be prioritized. A server is already set up.
    • Emails will need to be used to access the Google doc's housing the scripts.
    • I am understanding and a bit lax on deadlines. The production process is long as I write, record, edit, mix everything between class and work. However, communication is huge for me. Upon casting, if communication is not made within two days, the role will be recast. I just ask for excellent communication.
    • There are many worlds and characters with funky names. The pronunciation will be provided here and in the script(s).
    • Many of these characters (unless otherwise stated) are not animated and whimsical. Please read the descriptions carefully. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions or concerns. However, you can be expressive and inventive in your approach to a character, while playing off their descriptions.
    • All characters will have a line to "Introduce yourself" at the top. This is solely meant for me to hear your normal voice. Say a few things before diving in!
    • Any of the "extras" will likely be utilized throughout other projects. There is a possibility of picking up as a returning character.
    • You are welcome to audition for any character(s) you would like. I will try and be as descriptive as possible on their bios.
    • I will be speaking with all who are cast over Discord about your character and their place in the world. As the story is evolving, certain ideas, themes, and characters will change.
    • The main arc of the project is split into 3 "Flights." Each flight is set up, though not limited to, 4 chapters. Other projects such as; Demur, Sublime, etc, take place in separate parts of the overall timeline.

Role assigned to: TheKaneProjectTv

"Expulsion / Flight 2 appearance"

Brother Griffith, mostly going by his first name, Archibald was the noble pastor of the church in Keva. Before The Myriad laid waste to the city, Brother Griffith spoke hope and wisdom in to the citizens of Keva. After The Myriad massacred the citizens and ran the survivors into the nearby woods, Loomis kept the preacher quarantined inside the Church.

Archibald's deep appreciation in the Gods kept him sane as he counted his days.  However, he was forced to provide comfort and forgiveness for the sins of Loomis Conway and The Myriad. He found himself working to dig out of the bowels of the decrepit church.

Archibald's voice has grown raspy, tired, and worn. He spends most of his time underground. Part of him is almost hermit-like.

The third line is before the massacre. Play it as warm and lively. Archibald is speaking with his dear friend.

  • Introduce yourself!

    (tired, slight sense of annoyance)

In the name of Kyen, Haiasis, and the pantheon of Miagesh. Your sins are forgiven.

     (pronounced K - YEN)

(pronounced HI - YA - SIS)

(pronounced ME - UH - GESH)

  • It's now the hundredth-and-eighty-sixth day (beat) I'm well fed...I'll give them that. The meals are rich. (beat) I can't force myself to drink the water from above. I mostly fetch some from the tree roots...thank you for that, Siciel.

    (pronounced SIS - E - L)

  • (inquisitive) (This is before the massacre. Play it as warm and lively. Archibald is speaking with his dear friend.)

Joanna...you're coming off as reticent. Shall I take a guess as to who you seem so infatuated with, that you won't even tell me his name...? Hmm, is it that Conway boy?

    (chuckle)

Excuse me! Man.  Sherman is it?

"Freeman appearance (possibly an appearance in Expulsion)"

Freeman is a young orphan, taken in by Sherman and Keva's fallen after the massacre in the plaza. Is real name is Colin, however, he prefers to go by his last name. He is one of Sherman's close friends. Sherman has trusted Colin with a scouting run to find where The Myriad has stationed. Freeman is noble in his service to Sherman, however, he is a bit confused as to why he is going at this alone. He trusts Sherman's judgement.

He doesn't speak much. When he does, he is often straight to the point. His age range is early to mid 20s.

  • Introduce yourself!

Sherman, you sure this is a good idea? (beat) I'm just saying. I'd be a lot more comfortable if I had someone with me.

  • (crying out) God's please! (broken) Sh--Sherman...help me!

(spitting) Fuck you! I'd rather die then be one of your pawns.

  • Sherman, can you hear me?

    (beat)

    (beat)

There is nothing here. I swear to the Gods I-- (bullet whizzes past his head) Shit!

"Expulsion / Flight 2 appearance"

Franklin Connors was the mayor of Keva before the massacre. A manipulative, shadowy man, he was liked by a select few of Keva's populous. Now, living in the woods with the rest of Keva's Fallen, Franklin too wishes to return to Keva. He believes in a diplomatic, peaceful approach to reasoning with Loomis and The Myriad.

Though his motives are clear, he is not trusted by Sherman, as he is not a virtuous man. A bit sleazy and low at times.

  • Introduce yourself!

Would you care to listen to me this time, Sherman? If not, I'd much rather get some rest.

  • (condescending - he's reminiscing on violent past events.) I remember the day exactly as it was. Father Clay delivered an exquisite sermon. Lunch was being prepared in the plaza, the children were laughing and--well, it was gone in an instant. All thanks to that low-life brother of yours and his wretched followers.

  • I don't care for the teachings of the Gods. I can assure you if they were tangible, physical beings--well, we wouldn't be in this predicament would we?

(conversing with Sherman at night by the fire) Where's Colin, Jack and Jess, Susan, Mac...all the lives lost, simply becuase you don't want to run away. How are we to believe in you Sherman?  Really...do you plan on running forever?

Ingrid Dera / Ethel Conway

Ingrid Dera is the deceased mother of Calvin and Miles Dera. Her death is a mystery to her two sons, though both are beginning to understand their place in it. She appears in small visages for both boys. She is sharp, calculated, though she has grown tired in her attempts at reaching to the boys. She held a deep devotion to the pantheon of Miagesh and called out to them shortly before her death.

Ethel Conway is the mother of Sherman Conway. Her appearance in Expulsion is short and quick, but her presence around her gruff son Sherman lightens the mood. She is old, frail, and has lived a long life.

Whoever is cast will be asked to voice both roles.

**Chapter 4 appearance**

  • Do it, Calvin! (sharp) (Ingrid)

I love you too, Sherman. (Ethel)

  • What do you see, Calvin? (beat) Go on...you won't hurt me? I've lived this moment over and over and over again. (Calm. She is trying to make Calvin understand the gravity of his choice - Ingridl)

  • To think that would be the last time I saw you. My boys...you've both grown up, yet you both stayed so hateful of one another. I can't blame Miles for it...you were so antagonistic of my choices. (Understanding of the choice - Ingrid)

If you look hard enough, I don't think it will change, Sherman. (Ethel)

Loomis...I'm not sure. You know he isn't one for these kinds of things. I'm surprised you're here, where's Joanna? (Ethel)

Young, 12-14 years old. Both of the Mare children are a bit naive, often letting their curiosity get the better of them. Jack is the notorious rule-breaker often bringing Jess along on an escapade.

(pronounced YARL -TRO)

Jarl is the husband to Vita. The two are recent citizens of Keva and like many of the Keva's Fallen, have been displaced by The Myriad's attack. Jarl and Vita quickly escape the plaza's chaos, swimming across the lake and into the woods. Though they were the first to flee, they are also the first found by The Myriad's search parties. Jarl's death is cold and remorseless, as it happens right in front of Vita. This is one of the events that kicks off Flight 2.

Jarl's main joy in life is the fact that he and Vita are soon to be parents. Finding a home and community for their family is of the utmost importance. Jarl is always seeking to make Vita and their baby, Yula, comfortable.

Nifa, The Blessed Mother, The Creator of the unoverse. Nifa represents purity, love, honor and life. Nifa has a keen sense of understanding and insight into those she interacts with. She is the true creator behind Carmith, Miagesh, Earth and the cosmos. Her real presence is unknown to many outside of Kyen, Malcolm, and Siciel. A small hint of her essence radiates from the center of Carmith and the other celestial bodies that make up the galaxy. Her Epparia (soul) is imprisoned in the center of the universe. Forced to watch her creation from afar, she is fighting to reach out.

Akin to Galadriel and Gandalf in LoTR and Anu in Diablo lore.

She is a God figure. Compley, lofty, and mystical. I'm interested to see where you take the voice.

  • Introduce yourself!

Formless...was how I found you. Empty. Dark. Floating between the seam of life and death.

The Epparia was a gift to you all--should I depart unexpectedly.

"Demur appearance"

Teemo Sarick is one of the top PR officials in Sersera on Earth. His work is mainly in working to aid displaced, low-income families in the various districts on Sersera. He works for Glidewell Incorporated, however, his recent "mistakes" have gained the attention of Mr. Glidewell. The enigmatic leader calls Teemo in on a routine morning for a chat and to check up on the man. Mr. Glidewell throws some serious accusations at Teemo. Does he deny them?

Teemo is a bit reserved. Often speaking to himself and quick, if he's asked a question directly. He is hiding something from Mr. Glidewell. He's playing a dangerous game with his boss.

  • Introduce yourself!

(he's reciting this for people to read after he is gone) To those finding these recordings. My name is Teemo Sarick. My Identification number was 5-7-1-5. I was the chief public relations official for Sersera Center. Our work was not a ploy. We believed in it....we knew it was right.

Terrthrillen is an old Geshian oracle/healer. He frequently communes with what's left of the physical bodies of the Gods. Mainly spending time with Siciel and learning from her. He is constantly seeing visons of events to come and memories of the past. He is working with Siciel to bring balance back to Miagesh and to find the whereabouts of Nifa's Epparia.

Akin to Gandalf or a respectable, noble oracle/prophet in fantasy.

He often speaks fast and quick, but also holds this fragility to him.

  • Introduce yourself!

Siciel, I saw him. He is rich with vigor.

    (pronounced SIS - E - L)

"Expulsion / Flight 2-3  appearance"

Vita, like many of the people in Keva's Fallen, is looking for a sense of community. She is good friends with Joanna. She welcomes Gwinnett warmly into their group. She is reserved -  often a bit shy, though her greatest joy in life is her pregnancy with her soon to be daughter, Yula.

The project opens with a tense, heavy scene where she and her husband Jarl are cornered by The Myriad. Violence ensues, Vita is left to pick up the pieces. The scene requires a guttural, almost animalistic stricken cry.

  • Introduce yourself!

Joanna really has been sweet to me. Everyone here has! But, I don't want to y--you know be any dead weight.

(someone has asked about her child, she hasn't gotten to talk much about her, she's happy.) Yula, was the name Jarl and I agreed on. It was an easy choice...Yula was Jarl's grandmother's name. He loved her.

"Expulsion / Flight 2 / Freeman appearance"

Vivian Keana, Viv to a select few, Keana to most. Vivian is one of Loomis' go-to hunters, aside from Abel. She and Abel are the closest to Loomis. Her service to The Myriad has lasted for sometime. She also came from a well off Kevan family. She fell under Loomis' guise and soon abandoned all ideals she once held. She worked closely with Abel in planning the plaza massacre in "Expulsion."

Her affinity to violence is deep. She has killed innocent people and is now hunting Keva's Fallen. She is cold, often finding joy in her sport. She also has this weird fascination with Loomis. She respects him, greatly, though she holds a special place for him in her sick heart. She is well known to Sherman, Joanna, and Keva's Fallen.

Vivian is powerful. She is relentless in her service to The Myriad. She believes in Loomis and The Myriad's position in the world. Heartless, she has next to no sense of empathy.

Please be comfortable with dark, language-filled dialogue.

  • Introduce yourself!

Shut your goddamned mouth! Quit your crying. (soothing) It'll be over soon, I'll make sure of it.

Why didn't you shoot when Loomis asked you to, Abel? Come to think of it, you're always coming off skittish and afraid. Is there something you wanna say about all this?
