REINE DE LA MER (QUEEN OF THE SEA)

This short film will be animated in 2D and I am looking for someone with a unique style that will compliment the project. 

You will need to be good at: 

1. Character Drawing, 
2. Transitions (Zoom ins, zoom outs, pans, tilts, closeups etc),
3. Scenery/Details (Detailed backgrounds)

The film is projected to be around 10 minutes long, and you will be the Head Animator of this project!

About the Film/Project: 

This will be an animated short film (not projected to be over 15 minutes) and will be the first film I produce.It will be shot and voiced during the summer months, from May to August. Film Synopsis: The governor of Saint Domingue propositions the Pirate Queen of the Sea to protect the French colony from other pirates in exchange for money and ships. As the bastard daughter of the current French King, she puts her Vendetta aside to show up for the meeting he proposes, and kills him, escaping into the clutches of death and the otherworldly.

Notes: 

• The period of this film is the 1790s to 1820s, the period of slavery in Haiti and the reign of the French King Louis XIV
• The film is about pirates based in the Caribbean, has a lesbian lead, and includes some strong themes. I'm looking for fun-loving people that will voice this film like a Blockbuster and help me bring this film to life! 
• Many of these roles are for larger-than-life characters who emote HEAVILY; some roles will involve shouting and even a bit of hamming it up/overacting in some capacity. 
• This is a student-led film, so there is no budget, however, you will be credited as a voice actor in the film wherever it is posted and used. 
• We will publish the film on YouTube and snippets of it on social media platforms, like Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.
• The current team (animator, sound engineer etc.) are Jamaican-based, and we will use Discord to connect to international voice actors, to organize rehearsals, distribute scripts, and for engaging; so that we can build a great rapport over the duration of the project and produce the best results.

Xaion – First Mate of the Leucothea, 29-year-old, African descent, sexual relationship with Xerxes (just to give her pleasure when she desires it – yes, that’s a thing).
6ft 5”, very dark skin with green undertones, dark brown eyes with hazel flecks, low hair, muscular build.
Compassionate only towards the Captain.

Deep calm voice, frequently sarcastic, can be excited and boisterous. 

Doctor of the Leucothea, 47-year-old, French Descent, slightly greying, fatherly and caring, medium build, 6ft 1”.

Fatherly, concerned voice and tone, preferably a deep tone. He is a slow speaker.

Governor of Haiti (Saint Domingue at the era of this film).
55 years old, 5ft 5in, French descent (therefore white and wrinkly), moustache, slightly potbellied.
Heavy French accent, high-pitched tone, must be a Fluent or Native French Speaker.
(Lines require a slow, hesitant sort of delivery)

1st Line - Excited and happy

2nd Line - Timid, Serious tone

Preferably a voice that is deeper, and lower in tone.

Captain of the Leucothea (biggest, darkest, deadliest pirate ship on the oceans)
23-year-old, French & Filipino descent, bastard daughter of King Louis XIV.
5ft 8” fair skin, jet black curly hair (think Kehlani) heavily tattooed, lesbian, slim build, ocean-coloured blue eyes.

Ruthless. Sarcastic tone, beautiful singing voice (even though she doesn’t sing in the film)
Her lines include French, therefore French is an asset. It is preferred, but not required. If not a French speaker, the successful applicant will be expected to pass as an authentic French speaker (through lots of practice).

Captain of the Zephyr (enemy ship and captain to Xerxes and the Leucothea.
65 years old, 6ft 4in, stately and of high education and decorum.
His age does not show.
Of English descent, teasing cheeky tone, low tone.

Sultry, flirtatious tone, sing song voice.
