Concerning Dub Standards
*I am planning on voicing Subaru, but I'm still open to auditions! If I hear someone that suites him better than I do, which is very much possible, then I will absolutely cast them!*
Age: 16 – 18
Voice Type: Low – Mid Toned Voice. Typical protagonist.
Japanese Voice Sample: [SAMPLE]
Subaru is your typical protagonist. He is a shut-in NEET who is sent to a fantasy world. Very honor driven and passionate.
(Starts of slightly serious, but then gets light
and happy toward the end of the line) Now I get it. No wonder I though
you were so cute! Elves are always beautiful, right?
(Struggling to breath. He is just about to die and wincing in pain. Feel free to take a breath or two and make some pained sounds during the ellipses) Wait there... I'm going to... save you...
(Triumphantly screaming as he's winding up a punch) You're just lumps of XP!
Age: 16 – 18
Voice Type: Normal Mid - Medium High Toned Voice. Somewhat typical female supportive protagonist.

Emilia is very caring person who won't admit it and just calls it her "selfishness." She is a bit oblivious at times, but can be strong.
(Slightly distant normal tone, then after the ellipses very insecure sounding) I don't think making guesses on that will help you... I'm a half-elf.
(A bit convicted and caring) That's important too, but if she's lost, we have to do something.
(Angry, but composed at first. After the ellipses she raises her voice, but isn't yelling) What are you thinking? I don't know who you are... but don't call me by the name of the jealous witch! What are you thinking!?
*Please remember, using your normal voice or a voice fit for a normal human character is perfectly acceptable. In fact, I might end up using that kind of voice. If you would like to try a few different voices in the same audition (for each set of lines) then that is fine! I don't mind long auditions*
Age: He is ageless but he acts more like a teenager.
Voice Type: Varied – I want to hear everything you guys have got for puck! You can try to match puck's Japanese voice if you want, or you can try your normal speaking voice (which might be the one I end up going for). I'm very open for puck, as I'm not sure what kind of voice I'm looking for exactly. Even though Puck is technically a guy, male and female can both audition for puck!

Puck is magical creature resembling a cat. He is always very energetic and adorable, often times joking around with Subaru like a bro. He can be serious when has to though.
(A fairly happy tone) It's just a thoughtful arrangement we made, so you at least could feel happy until you woke up.
(Slightly more serious, but not deadpan, more endearing. Odo is pronounced "Oh-Doe") Don't do anything reckless. If it comes down to it, use the Odo to summon me again.
*For this just give a yell for about 2 seconds and then a small laugh or closed mouth giggle* (Puck is comically giving Subaru and adorable tiny punch. This is meant as friendly banter, so don't make the yell overly intense.)
Age: 13-15
Voice Type: Medium - High Pitched. She has a youthful sound to her voice.

Felt is a very energetic and spunky young girl. She is a thief and doesn't like those who are wealthier than her, since she lives in the slums. Her only family is Old Man Rom, who does his best to keep her safe and apprise her stolen goods.
(She was suddenly stopped an asked a question. She answers very loudly and energetically) Summoned? Sorry I dunno what you're talkin' about but I'm busy! Sorry! Live Strong!
(Very conversational and nonchalant) Sorry to keep you waiting, Old Man Rom. It took a while to shake 'em.
(Yelling) Idiot, do you want to die?! (She looks behind her and speaks calmly but urgently) Sorry you got caught up in this. *then just give me about a 2 second attack scream, starting off closed mouth or teeth clenched and then open (AHHH!) sound at the last few moments*
Age: 55 – 75
Voice Type: Deep Low – Mid Toned Voice. I'm open for Rom when it comes to his voice. As long as you sound low enough and an adult, it's ok if you don't put on the "old man"-ness if you don't want to, but I would like to hear everything you guys got :)

Rom is an old man who is fairly kind after you initially meet him, although he is fairly gruff. He is Felt's only family.
(Rom laughs when Subaru asks him if he's dies yet) *Laughs* Well I'll admit I'm an old man at death's door, but I ain't died yet.
(Much more conversational tone that overly friendly) What? You even know who swiped it? Of course, whether you'll be able to afford it is another matter.
(Angry with a loud voice) Shut yer trap! You tryin' to bust my door down when you don't even know the signal or password?! *then give me a short battle cry* (as though you are swinging a heavy sword or weapon)
Age: 20-35
Voice Type: Normal Mid - Medium High Toned Voice. A fairly typical adult female voice.
Elsa is a skilled assassin who has a sick obsession with the guts of her victims. Although this is never explicitly shown, she does deliver a few lines about it, demonstrating how sadistic and powerful she is. Most of her lines are fairly calm and collected, giving her a eerie presence since the audience knows she is evil and can strike at any second.
(Very professional sounding. Like a friendly business woman.) As it happens the client sent me with some extra funds, just in case I needed to sweeten the deal.
(Eerily friendly. Less business like and with a tiny hint of craziness *very subtle*) Are you surprised? I opened up your stomach when we passed by each other. This is the one thing I excel at.
(don't take this line to fast. She is kneeling over a dying Subaru who is great pain. She has an overly friednly and slightly patronizing tone. when she starts saying "slowly," she becomes much more focused and evil sounding.) Does it hurt? Are you suffering? In pain? Sad? Do you want to die? Slowly, slowly, slowly... slowly...... slowly.
Age: 35– 55
Voice Type: Low – Mid Toned Voice. Slightly gruff.

Kadomon is a simple, tough looking street vendor that we meet from time to time in the episode. He can be pretty gruff and yell if you're just wasting his time, but if he knows you, or has a reason too, it's not hard to see he's actually a nice guy.
(Laid back and non-caring, but not passive aggressive. More monotone Lugunica is pronounced "Loo-goo-ni-cuh".) What kind of money is that? You can't use that kind of money in Lugunica.
(He's softened up a bit. More laid back than gruff) It might be that felt girl. You said a little, nimble blond-girl, right? She's well-known in the slums. Dunno where she lived though.
(Get angry in first sentence. Starts to yell in the second sentence. And full yells in the third sentence) That means you're flat broke, huh? Get outta here! Don't interfere with my business!
Age: 23-35
Voice Type: Mid - High voice. very average and typical adult female voice.

Since she is just an extra, there isn't too much info about her. She is simply very sweet and kind, thankful that Subaru and Emilia helped her lost daughter find her mother.
(Friendly, but not over the top) Thanks for your help earlier.
(Friendly) It's my husband's shop, so I'm just stopping by.
(The little girl hands Emilia a flower, and her mom speaks affectionately) Please accept it. She wants to thank you in her own way.
*These are actually all of the Male Villagers lines, so if you get cast for this role, you will actually be completely done :) Unless I tell you otherwise, I'll just use your audition lines for the final*

Voice Type: Low – Mid Toned Voice. Really open for this character since he's an extra. Feel free to try anything.

He is simply a villager that Subaru and Emilia pass by who decide to ask him a question. He reacts like anyone would, a bit surprised, but very laid back and conversational.
(Very laid back tone, but friendly) Huh? Felt? There's nothing up that way but Old Man Rom and a loot house.
(Still very laid back tone. This line is said a bit affectionately) Did felt steal something from you guys?
(Still laid back. On the last two words, it is very chill catch phrase that the villagers say. Not too intense.) Well, go try and negotiate it back. Live strong.
Age: 3 – 7
Voice Type: High – Very High Toned Voice. Really open for this character since he's an extra. Feel free to try anything.

This is Kadomon's daughter who is lost. Subaru and Emilia find her, cheer her up, and bring her back to her mother. She doesn't talk very much, but she does make a few surprised sounds, cries, and laughs.

Voice Type: Low – Mid Toned Voice. Slightly gruff. Like I said about the others, since he's an extra, don't feel like you have to imitate the Japanese voice actor exactly (although that would be awesome). Just give me anything you got. :)

One of the three thugs. There's not much else to say. He's a tough son of gun who likes cracking his knuckles.
(A bit of a cool line. He says this as he cracks his knuckles) Actually it rained on our parade and made things worse.
(A bit astonished) What we stole? You didn't come to save this kid?
(Angrily yelling) Then you've got no business with us! If someone stole from you, it was that brat who just ran by!
