Project Overview
The year is 3024 and it has been a few thousand years since the Earth became uninhabitable, and now the human race is trying to come back. Two people have been chosen to go and test it out, not because they're incredibly smart or well trained, but because no one would miss them if things went wrong. Little do they know, the test has been done before. New experiences and new friendships, but what happens when their signal is no longer recieved by the company that sent them to Earth in the first place?

Medi is an agender(they/them) thief, aged 20. They are an incredibly stubborn and sarcastic person who tends to be very protective and bury their feelings. They cut all ties to their family when they were sixteen, as their family couldn’t seem to accept them being agender. So they created their own life, moving from the moon to mars where they eventually got chosen to be a part of something much larger than they expected, a trip back to earth. They started stealing because no one would hire them without a college or university degree. They have never really had friends, but are surprisingly very good at making friends.
Voice wise, Medi has a very friendly and modulated tone. Her jokes and sarcastic comments often land with a very flat tone.
I- okay Medi.. relax- you- you’re still in that pod- it’s just the pod they put you in- breathe girl- (they are almost hyperventilating but is fighting it back)
Don’t be neurotic. We aren’t going to die in here. We are going to find a way to break that door down.

Castor is a very anxious and somewhat neurotic man, aged 22 years. He cares very deeply for the people he makes connections with. Sometimes he gets blinded by his fear and has little breakdowns. Being alone is one of his biggest fears, which is mostly because he was alone most of his life. He was an orphan, his parents having died when he was about six. He had been in an orphanage for a few years but didn’t like how they were treating him so he left. He is a very creative person who loves nature and animals. He was born and grew up on mars.
Voice wise, he sounds very much like he is appealing- looking for approval. Most of the time he is very soft-spoken but when he gets nervous he speaks a bit louder and with a more brittle and breathy voice. When he is happy his voice is a lot more like a chirp, but it is very rare that he sounds happy.
Hello? Other person? I know I’m supposed to be on here with someone else- are you here? Or did your pod mysteriously malfunction and try to kill you an hour ago as well?
They aren’t that important when you want to feel what /real/ soil and /real/ grass feel like against your skin! (he exclaims in excitement) And all that stuff? who cares! I’m sure we have medical supplies here, now come on I want to go outside.
I mean it’s broken! the glass is cracked! It said error when i touched it. It isn’t reading my handprint! We are stuck in here! I can’t be stuck in here- we were so close to getting out- to being surrounded by /real/ nature- I can’t-
Ziggy is a very brutally honest and stand-off-ish kind of girl. She has a hard time connecting with others because when she lived back on Jupiter that’s just how a lot of people were. She is one of those people where she rarely lets you see her softer and more gentle side, because in her homeland that meant weakness. She cut ties with her family because she just didn’t want to be around them since they were incredibly controlling and wanted her to be a part of their work when all she wanted was to be a mechanic. She is 19 years old and was the youngest person put onto the earth, having been sent not long after she left her family at the age of 16.
Her voice is very controlled and pleasant to listen to, though at times she speaks with a rather matter-of-fact type of voice. It is very rare for her to speak softly and quietly since she is used to speaking over the machines at the auto shop she worked at.
I hate to break it to you, but uh- you two are definitely not the first people to land on earth. We got here about three years ago? I think-

Look at that- that's a koi fish. a real koi! I don't remember seeing any of these swimming about in all of the time since we arrived here. Quinn, get my notebook! I need to write this down!
Quinn is a 23-year-old man who is incredibly generous and self-sacrificing. He really just wants everyone to be taken care of and happy before he starts worrying about himself. He has a very hard time staying still and doesn’t react well to being bored. Being bored and stagnant is his absolute worst nightmare. He has a hard time getting insulted as he takes most everything to heart, but he is trying to better himself. He is from Venus so most of the days on earth feel incredibly short to him and his sleeping habits are incredibly messed up. He was chosen for the trip because no one really ever noticed him. He was the eighth child born to his parents and even they barely recognized that he was there. After he moved out they seemed to forget about him entirely, as did his siblings.
His voice is usually on the softer side, but still very modulated and kind. When he is excited he tends to talk really quickly and forgets to take a breath until the very last minute. When he is sad, his voice gets very shaky and quiet, and when he is bored he gets very whiney and exasperated.
So... we have been sitting here, doing nothing, for the past hour and a half. Can we /please/ do something now! I hate just sitting here all quiet. I get bored easily and you know it- I am literally dying of boredom!
Not for nothing, but that look gives me the impression that you want to make out, Cas. (he laughs quietly) Like those are some very serious bedroom eyes- (he is teasing)
I- sorry... I didn't mean to annoy you... I'm just gonna go now- you know, uh... think over that- I just... didn't realize that you found me so annoying...
The Commissioner uses they/them pronouns and is incredibly strict and professional, not giving anyone more than two chances- rarely even giving them a second chance unless they think you actually have something that they consider to be a strong asset, such as a huge knowledge when it comes to technology.
Their voice is usually very honeyed when it comes to the candidates they choose to send to Earth. They sound sweet but you know you can't trust them and yet, you do anyway. Normally, however their tone is strict and harsh and very formulaic.
They went off the radar? Again? This is the second time you lot have failed me. I was assured that the earth was finally inhabitable, but apparently that was untrue. What do you have to say for yourselves?
Tell me something, James. Why is it that when things go wrong, it always comes back to you?
James is an anxious man working under the commissioner to assure that things don't go wrong, He is just trying to do his job and trying to do it well, though he still hasn't perfected his technology.
His voice is usually somewhat shaky though he tries to mask that with a more confident tone.
Apologies, sir. I don't know how that happens, sir. All I know is that an hour ago we detected an anomaly in the scanners we inserted in their wrists.
I will try harder this time- please just give me one more chance Commissioner. I- yes... thank you. I'll see to it that I work harder next time. (he instantly takes some anxiety meds after The Commissioner leaves)
Some of the old scanners have come online again, sir. The ones from three years ago. No- I don't know why. Those two were presumed dead after a year in the atmosphere. Our scanners are never usually wrong. I check them myself-
Basically just a calm automated voice that comes over the speakers and is meant to help Castor and Medi if they have any problems.
It is impossible to repair, as the scanners cannot be damaged.
