Post Haste (Short Film)
Project Overview
It’s a normal day at Port Cohl Post Office. Get the mail, sort the mail, deliver that mail, same as always. But that all changes when a postcard is returned to the desk of Penelope Letterman, unable to be delivered. Confused, she examines the card, though finds herself moved by the message on the back. Renewed with a sense of determination, she is adamant to find the recipient of the letter, but when Post Master Dorn determines it’s undeliverable, she instructs Penelope to discard it.
Discarding Dorn’s orders, Penelope embarks on a long journey to find the recipient and deliver the letter, no matter the obstacle.

(Art done by JS. Will be updated to fit the overall style when her turnaround is done) Postmaster Dorn is the boss of Port Cohl Post Office. She is a tall, middle aged woman who carries herself with an air of professionalism. She runs a tight ship by managing her employees, making sure mail is always delivered on time. Though she comes off very serious and stern, she does have a hidden soft spot for her employees. She is very proud of them.

Have a good weekend, Miss Letterman. I’ll see you in the office on Monday.
Hm… The sending address was invalid… and the return address is illegible. It cannot be delivered.
Regardless of the letters contents, there’s nothing we can do. We’ll have to throw it away. And take this as a lesson to not read through other people’s mail.
(Art is the final look of the characters for the film) Penelope Letterman is a very dedicated post worker. She believes no letter, no matter the contents, should always be delivered. She is very optimistic and determined, never letting anything stand in her way, especially when she believes its the right thing.

But then the man’s daughter will never know why he stopped writing! What if she thinks he never wants to speak to her again. Isn’t it our duty to deliver mail, no matter the obstacle! (Talking fast/frantic)
Oh Ms. Dorn! *tries to hide that she’s quickly wiping a tear* You’re here late!
No problem! (pause) Well, I should get out of your hair now -
(Temporary concept art done by Isabel Atha) Willow is the recipient of the letter, which carries a heart felt message. Her father writes how he wants to reconnect after her mother’s/his wife’s passing.
