POKÉMON X NIMJA: PLAY THE GAME (DUTCH VOICE ACTORS NEEDED)

IMPORTANT: In order to play this role, you must be male, and you must be Dutch or know fluent Dutch. This is because HyPN0se mainly speaks Dutch instead of English. Any non-Dutchies auditioning for this role will be rejected unless they know fluent Dutch.

Gender: Male
Species: Mewtwo
Personality: At first glance, HyPN0se appears to be your typical hammy villain. He’s always in a rage, ranting about his latest plan to discredit Nimja’s existence or to destroy all hypnotists. However, that’s the side we mainly see, and it’s the side we’re made to see. When he’s not ranting about domination, the real HyPN0se, named Lucas Visser, is a shy, painfully submissive Mewtwo, who always is forced by his abusive mother (who lives inside his brain, might I add) to do things he doesn’t want to do. Unfortunately for him, those things include killing innocents and discrediting a hypnotist that he knows for a fact is real. While he doesn’t want to be the bad guy, he feels extremely pressured to- largely because his mind is forced to make him say he wants to. Oh, and he speaks mostly Dutch, so there’s that.

Voice: when controlled, angry and gravelly; when uncontrolled, shy, submissive, fearful and filled with regret

PLEASE NOTE: Being Dutch is highly recommended, but unlike HyPN0se is not required, for the role, as Nimja only says a handful of Dutch words and phrases in the series. Note, however, that Nimja is a REAL PERSON with a very distinct voice/Dutch accent. If you do not know who Nimja is, I highly recommend you go look up his hypnosis YouTube channel, but note here that some of his content is NSFW. You must be 18 or older to audition for this role. Oh, and if you are actually Nimja Hypnosis, and you see this, sorry! You’re out of the running: you can’t play yourself. I don’t want to put too much on your plate.

Gender: Male
Species: Mew (other forms: Hypno, Seviper, Gogoat, Espeon, Hoppip)
Personality: For the most part, Nimja (whose real name will not be revealed to you) is extremely calm, gentle, and stoic. He’s a hypnotist, after all; it’s pretty much his job to relax people, so he himself is relaxed. Just about nothing fazes him. However, he also has a playful, mischievous side that shows on occasion, especially if he is putting someone in trance or engaging in a tickling/poking match. When he’s not hypnotizing people, though, Nimja is a GIANT nerd. Ask him about Dungeons and Dragons, Queen, Monty Python, Discworld, or Portal, and be prepared to watch Nimja gush with sheer nerdiness and adorkableness about how much he loves and adores those things. Of course, though, Nimja is also one of the biggest dominants in the hypno community, and it shows. He will ask that you call him “sir” (or, if you’re OGiNiM, “mijnheer”), he will demand your full, unbridled obedience, and he always has a plan for any given situation. Due to this, Nimja is also extremely responsible and intelligent— and given that he has a full-time job as a programmer, that’s obvious. Overall, though, Nimja adores his subjects- to the point where he doesn’t see some subjects as merely subjects, but as true friends and confidants. That, really, is what truly defines Nimja- a hypnotist, nerd, dom, and lifelong friend and father figure all in one. Oh, and he’s Dutch. So there’s that.

(NOTE: Nimja is a real person and everything I mentioned above applies to Nimja’s real life personality. Probably the only thing not mentioned here is that in real life, Nimja practices BDSM... which won’t be mentioned or shown in the show, for obvious reasons! Keep it PG, folks! It’s Pokémon!) 

**That said, though, DS themes will be present, most notably with HyPN0se. Of course, said DS themes are shown in perhaps the most G-rated way possible.**

Of course, I don’t expect you to sound exactly like the real deal— because let’s be honest, who else can except Nimja himself?- but you should try to do as good of an impression as you can. It should be a lot easier if you’re Dutch. Generally, you win the role if the Gamers (nerdy Nimja fans) find you believable and if you can pull off Nimja’s calm yet adorkably nerdy personality. 

IMPORTANT: You must be Dutch or speak Dutch fluently in order to play this role. However, Aegis can be played by either a male or a female, as despite the fact that he is referred to by male pronouns, Aegis’ true gender is ambiguous. 

Gender: Ambiguous; is referred to with male pronouns but does not see himself as either male or female 

Species: Aegislash

Personality: The leader of the Spoken, Aegis is essentially Nimja... minus the whole hypnosis thing. Stoic, calm, and level-headed, he is a natural leader and is always there to help the other two members of the Spoken- or Nimja and his fans- whenever they need it. Like Nimja, Aegis adores books and even has a full library of them. Unlike Nimja, however, Aegis isn’t necessarily what you would call a “nerd.” He’s definitely intelligent, but isn’t into things like Dungeons and Dragons or Portal. Usually, Aegis will be found reading long scientific novels or things such as War and Peace to himself. He knows a lot about famous authors and poets, knows multiple languages, including his main language Dutch, and enjoys Greek mythology and scientific studies. Additionally, Aegis is a lot more snarky when compared to Nimja, and especially so when compared to the emotional Boomer and the fun-loving Crowe. However, even Aegis enjoys a good prank now and again, showing that he’s not so above it all after all... Oh, and he’s actually of ambiguous gender, but is referred to by male pronouns. This is despite the fact that he sees himself as neither male nor female. 

Voice: stoic, relaxed, powerful, intelligent; possibly with an echo effect 

NOTE: Because OGiNiM does not speak that much Dutch and is still learning, you cannot be a fluent Dutch person to play this role. I advise, however, to get a Dutch actor on board to help you with pronunciation. OGiNiM can be played by a female. 

Gender: Male

Species: Bulbasaur 

Personality: Upbeat, fun-loving, and cheerful, Theodore Cardwell- better known by his screen name OGiNiM- is a Canadian-turned-Bulbasaur who, in pretty much every way, is the exact opposite of the calm and stoic Nimja. And yet he adores him. By far his most defining personality trait is his utter and complete loyalty to the Dutch hypnonerd to such an extent that he is learning Dutch actively and will only refer to Nimja as "Mijnheer," which is Dutch for what everyone else usually calls Nimja- "Sir." He will cheerfully proclaim "ik gehoorzaam u volledig" at the slightest order, and regardless of the situation will do whatever he can to protect Nimja- including risking his own life if necessary. OGiNiM is very childlike and innocent, despite the fact that he is canonically 18 years old. Yet, if he is ever given a job, he will do it with the same cheerfulness and happiness that he always has. He is responsible enough to own his own house, yet he can't drive a car. Like Nimja, OGiNiM is a huge nerd and enjoys many of the same things he does. Due to the fact that he always approaches everything with innocence, he is also a foil to the much more snarky and deadpan HyDrO. But of course, he likes her, too!

Voice: cheerful, high-pitched, and upbeat; talks fast; able to show a large variety of emotions

IMPORTANT: You cannot be Dutch to play this role. HyDrO doesn't speak the language. 

Gender: Female

Species: Snivy

Personality: In contrast to the happy-go-lucky OGiNiM, HyDrO is deadpan, snarky, and stoic. She barely shows any emotion, and if she does it's usually nothing if not reserved. If she's happy, she will give a small smile; if she's sad, she will shed a single tear; if she's angry, she doesn't show it, but she will make extremely deadpan remarks. She has a somewhat vitriolic relationship with OGiNiM. The two of them often argue on stream about a lot of petty things, and much of their fights consist of HyDrO making extremely snarky remarks, at some points in the series making light fun of him for the fact that he- according to her- sounds like a girl. However, there are those times wherein HyDrO will show a lot of emotion, and if she does, it's always in life-threatening or otherwise serious situations (i.e. Nimja being turned into a Pokemon). Despite her stoic exterior, however, HyDrO is just as much of a fan of Nimja as OGiNiM is- minus the whole "calling him Mijnheer and speaking Dutch" thing. Of course, unlike OGiNiM, who wears his loyalty and love for Nimja on his sleeve, HyDrO much prefers to not show her fandom for Nimja in public or on camera. She also evidently cares about the safety of Nimja, OGiNiM, and Slang. to the point that the thought of any of them getting hurt is one of the very few things that will get her to express emotion. Well, that and books. She loves books. 

Voice: completely emotionless and nearly deadpan unless explicitly said otherwise

IMPORTANT INFO: YOU MUST BE DUTCH TO PLAY THIS ROLE

Gender: Male

Species: Haunter

Personality: Fun-loving, laidback and always up for a good Dutch pun or two, Crowe is the optimist of the Spoken. In direct contrast to the easily startled, fragile Boomer, Crowe is happy-go-lucky and cheerful. He enjoys pulling harmless pranks on other Pokemon, most notably on Aegis, and he means no malicious intent by them. Most notably of all, though, Crowe loves making jokes and puns- especially Dutch puns, and most especially Dutch puns on the word “spoken.” Of course, there’s also the joke about the Dutch cannibal squirrel (he eats eekhoorns, get it?) and the one about the Dutch fish, American fish, and the shark. In fact, this is such an inherent part of his personality that, if he stops making puns, it’s a sure sign that something is wrong. Crowe can also be quite a bit of a snarker, but not as much as Aegis and definitely not as much as HyDrO, who is snark incarnate. Overall, though, this is one ghost that is very much spoken about- BA-DUM-TSCHHHHH!

Voice: crazy, whimsical, cheerful

IMPORTANT INFO: You cannot be Dutch in order to play this role. Boomer intentionally doesn’t know the language.

Gender: Male
Species: Trevenant
Personality: If Aegis is the Spoken’s brains and Crowe their brawn, Boomer is their heart. And it definitely shows. Out of the three members of the Spoken, Boomer is by far the most emotional- literally. He is extremely nervous, vulnerable, and is often prone to sobbing his eyes out. He has a desperate desire to learn Dutch in order to be like his comrades Aegis and Crowe, and doesn’t enjoy scaring people or hurting them. Despite his shy nature, however, Boomer has an extremely kind heart and will do whatever he can to help his fellow members of the Spoken. Not to mention, of course, that he adores Nimja, just like the other two members. Also, his name is pronounced “BOW-mur,” as in “bow and arrow.” Ironically, this is on account of it being from the Dutch for “tree.” So there’s that.

Voice: deep, baritone voice, yet also shy and kindhearted; prone to emotion
