[You are speaking with Tri about your current situation while locked in a cell.] (Whispers) Yes, they also looked weird to me. I think they're imposters.

[You are facing away from Link as you focus on Zelda. Link approaches you from behind.] (Menacing) So. It's you again. [You turn towards Link.] Ever the troublesome one. Only this time, your presence serves me. (Threatening) Now I'll end you both!

[Zelda has encountered you in the Still World version of Hyrule Castle.] (Menacing) I am Ganon, the Demon King who reigns over the darkness of this world. (Threatening) No one can defeat me! (Pause) Crumble to dust in the wake of my dark power!

[Princess Zelda has just returned from being kidnapped by a beast.] (Relieved) Ah, sweet child! Such a relief to see you safe! Welcome home, Princess!

[Zelda has escaped from several guards in the basement of Hyrule Castle. You have just given her a disguise.] (Whispering to a level where only Zelda can hear) You should be able to head along now without worry. [Three soldiers appear looking for Zelda.] Hmph. It seems we have company. Leave this to me. [The guards explain they are looking for Zelda and they ask you to stand aside.] Stand aside, hm? No. I don't believe I'll be doing that. [You give Zelda a map.] Make your way to the house marked with the yellow dot. Tell them Impa sent you - they'll surely help you.

[You are visiting Tri and Zelda in Zelda's room. You are grateful to Tri.] (Comforted) Master Tri. I find it interesting that I can see you now, where I was not able to before. Ah, and I know that the princess has been safe because she's had you as her guide. So now that I can see you, I can say this to your face: (Grateful) thank you for everything. [Tri asks you what 'thank you' means.] Oh! Well, it's an expression of gratitude. I've been both happy and relieved that you have aided the princess. So to express that feeling of gratitude, I say "thank you." [You notice Zelda waking up after her nap.] Already waking up, then, Princess? [Zelda gets out of bed.] You appear well. (Reflecting) I think about how small you once were... And I look at you now. Oh, how you have grown. (Realizing) Ah, there I go, getting myself worked up again! I am so overjoyed to see you again, Princess. Well, my apologies for disturbing you so soon after waking, but I bring a message from the king. [The King of Hyrule and Minister Lefte are discussing the rifts that have been appearing.] Stolen away. A tidy phrase for a terrible fate, being taken by a rift.

[You have just been saved in the Jabul Waters region and heard the music coming from the Zora at Crossflows Plaza.] (Yells) Where am I? [You spot Zelda and Tri.] (Direct) You there! I need directions! (Apologetic) Sorry, not my best manners. (Friendly) My name is Wright - general for the kingdom of Hyrule. I found myself out at sea after regaining my senses and heard the music coming from here! Do you know the way to Hyrule Cas- [You stop suddenly as you might have recognized the figure underneath the cloak.] (Investigating) Hmm. You... You look a little like... (Suspicious; drawing closer) No, it can't be... [Zelda removes her hood.] (In shock) It's you, Princess! I'd never guessed I'd meet you here of all places! Just imagine, here in Jabul Waters! Now, what in the world has been going on?

[You see Zelda walking into the throne room alive and well.] (Relieved) Oh, Princess! What an absolute joy to see you safe and well! (Ashamed) Despite that joy, I...feel ashamed that we were unable to find you. [You, the King of Hyrule, Zelda and General Wright are discussing recent events.] (Concerned) So he was pulled into a rift. Another one, stolen away. And it isn't just children anymore. Adults are disappearing too. [A soldier has just burst into the room with the urgent news that the rifts are causing serious trouble.] (Shocked) Oh no! [You have been assigned to continue your investigations to find a way to save all of the people taken by the rifts.] (Affirmative) You can count on me, Sire!

[You've just been saved from the rift by Zelda, but you have no idea where you are.] (Yelling) You there! A moment of your time? (You approach Zelda.) I am Lefte, Minister of Hyrule. Pardon the intrusion, but...could you tell me where we are? [Zelda takes off the hood.] (Shocked) Oh! Princess Zelda?! (Funny) I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't recognize you in that cloak... (Confused) Er, why are you wearing that? [Zelda explains what happened.] So...we failed to save you from that beast, and now you're out here facing much danger. (Impressed) I must confess, I am surprised to hear of your abilities. And your friend Tri accompanied you this whole time? Thank you so much, Tri! [Tri is shocked that you can see her.] (With adoration for Tri) Who could miss you? You're floating right there, and aren't you precious! [Tri reflects that she thought only Zelda could see her.] (Confused) Oh? So Lady Impa couldn't see you? How odd. (Getting back to the subject) Oddities aside, I'm worried about His Majesty and the General. We'll need to make a plan. There's much to consider, but for now, let's head to the location Lady Impa told you about. Oh! I'm getting ahead of myself. Would you mind showing me your map? [Zelda shows you her map.] If I recall correctly... (Remembering) Yes, that's the place. That's where Lady Impa's brother lives. Makes sense she'd send you there. I'll lead the way. Follow me!

[You are discussing the rift situation with the king, General Right, Tri, Lueburry, Impa and Princess Zelda. Tri has just informed the group that Ganon was an echo.] (Investigating) Initially, I deduced that everything had been at the hands of that monster, Ganon... That following Link's defeat of Ganon, we were seeing the aftereffects of their battle. But, Tri, you believe we may have been facing a different enemy all along?

[Zelda has just returned from being captured by a mysterious foe. General Wright and Minister Lefte apologize to Zelda for not being able to find her.] (To General Wright and Minister Lefte) General Wright. Minister Lefte. I appreciate your sentiments, but let's not dull this joyous moment with our regrets. (To Zelda) Zelda, my dear daughter, you did well to return to us. Come closer so I may look upon you. [Zelda steps closer.] (Joyous) Ah, I am so relieved. You are happy and whole and well. (Curious) So, tell us, Zelda. What happened to you?

[Zelda tells you of the swordsman who saved you.] (Shocked) A swordsman in green saved you from a fell beast! Quite the tale. (Concerned) But after defeating the monster, the swordsman was taken by a rift. It's him we have to thank for saving your life. Hm... [Minster Lefte expresses concern that the swordsman was pulled into a rift.] (Agreeing) Indeed. I hope he is safe.

[You've been saved from the rift by Zelda.] (Confused) Oh... (Relieved) Zelda! (Confused) Where...where am I? The castle? Everything feels hazy. [Zelda tells you about the Hyrule Castle rift.] (Remembering) Ah, I recall it now! I was pulled into a rift! Ah, my dear daughter... You saved me. Thank you. What has happened to Hyrule in my absence?

[You are meeting Zelda in the Hyrule Castle jail cell for the first time.] (Surprised) You can see me? (Friendly) My name's Tri. That blue monster? He caught me too. I've been watching you since then. I followed you here, to this castle. (Pause) Oh, yeah. I should ask. What's your name?

[You and Zelda are in Suthorn Forest trying to find a location. You reach your destination, but it is swallowed by a rift.] (Confused) Hm? Was this where we were supposed to go? Looks like the rift is blocking the door. Zelda, my role is to mend rifts. I have lots of friends who do the same. We all work together, fixing up rifts. Normally, my friends fix them quickly. So, it's...weird that this is still here. I wonder if something happened to them.

[Zelda has just defeated the first boss and rescued your friends.] Zelda, these are my friends. We set them free! They're filled with energy and ready to get to work. So now we can finally fix the rift here. Using our echo ability, we can restore the entire area that was swallowed up by the rift! (Excited) Watch this!

[Minister Lefte and Princess Zelda have just barged into your home. They are trying to explain the current events in Hyrule, but you have no time to chat.] (Rushed) Whozzat? I'm a very busy man. No time for chatter. Now, get! [Minister Lefte tells you it will only be a moment and you turn to her.] No, no, no. I'm about to leave. Come back later! [Minister Lefte tells you to hear her out.] I. Said. Nooo! I've got to go save Link! [You notice Zelda with the hood.] Hm? (Realizing) Hang on here... That's Link's cloak! So why do YOU have it? Did you see him? Well?! [Princess Zelda explains that Link has gone missing.] (Shocked) WHAAAAAAT?! OK. Tell me everything. Tell me about the rifts and anything you know about the swordsman.

[You notice Tri floating next to Zelda.] (Examining) All right, this has been bugging me ever since you barged in here. What IS that floaty thing? [Tri is confused that both you and Minister Lefte can see Tri.] (Confused) You're telling me we're the only ones who can see you? That's odd. [Minister Lefte tells you that Tri is an adorable creature.] (Getting back on the subject) Yeah, yeah, sure. But back to the matter at hand: What is it that you and I have in common? We've both ended up in rifts and lived to tell the tale.

[You are speaking with Minister Lefte and Zelda about the rifts and Link.] Princess, you shared that Link managed to take the blue guy out. And yet the rifts keep coming. Clearly we're missing something. The rift in the forest is gone, but Link's not back. What we need is more information.

[You are stuck on top of a wall surrounded by monsters.] (Yelling) Link! Link, are you there? There are so many monsters here. Fight them off for me, please!

[Zelda saves you from the monsters.] (Grateful) Wow! Saving the day as always, the heroic... (Realizing) Huh? You're not Link! Sorry about that! That hood had me thinking you were someone else. Please forgive the confusion.

[You are telling Zelda how you ended up in Suthron Prairie.] I set out to chop grass in my village, and before I knew it, I'd chopped my way to Suthorn Prairie! While I was here, I figured I might as well get rid of the shrubs and make a little plot for myself. That was when the monsters appeared and...well, you know the rest.

[You see Zelda approach you.] (Commanding) Eh? You're not a Gerudo. What do you want? Only those authorized by the Gerudo chief are allowed entry. Now, go on home!

[Zelda approaches you again.] (Annoyed) What, you again? Get through the sand? Uh, no, you aren't getting past me. Only those authorized by our chief are allowed entry. Now, go home.

[You are startled by yelling nearby.] (In shock) What was that?! (Concerned) Is someone hurt? I...I have to stay at my post, otherwise I'd go see what's going on.

[You have just been rescued by Zelda.] (Confused) Ugh...what happened? The monsters... They're gone? (Turning to Zelda) Did you defeat them for me? (Impressed) It seems they posed no threat to you... And yet I, a seasoned warrior, couldn't handle them. (Grateful) Thank you! You saved my life. Ah, I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Dohna, the captain of the Gerudo warriors. What's your name?

[Zelda introduces herself.] Nice to meet you, Zelda! So, what brings you out this way? [Zelda tells you that she is fixing rifts.] Mhm, I see. I see. You're traveling around, fixing rifts... Uh...huh. (In shock) You're fixing rifts?! (Calm) Pardon my shock. It's just that the rifts have been causing us serious trouble lately. We heard that taking care of the monsters would also take care of the rifts. But it hasn't. The rifts haven't gotten any smaller, and the monsters keep coming. Without end, it seems.

[You are Imposter Facette for this line. Dohna has just asked the chief to restore the entrance to the Gerudo Sanctum.] Captain Dohna! Do you comprehend what it is you are asking? If you recall, after the sanctum was consumed by the rift, the surge in monsters began. For the town's safety, we blocked the sanctum's entrance to prevent monsters from pouring out. Since then, we've been eradicating the rest of the monsters, which will fix the rift. After that, we'll reclaim the sanctum. That was the plan. Or have you forgotten?!

[You are Imposter Facette for this line. Dohna and Zelda have just returned from the desert.] (Curious) Tell us, Captain Dohna. Have you managed to find proof that she can fix the rifts? [Dohna responds.] So you have returned to us with nothing, after swearing you would find proof of her capabilities. Clearly, this is some sort of joke. This stranger has you entirely deceived.

[You are Normal Facette for this line. You've just been saved from the rift by Zelda.] (Coming to your senses) Ugh... (Confused) What... What happened to me? [You see Chief Seera and Dohna along with the other warriors and Zelda.] (Remembering) Chief Seera! Captain Dohna! What has happened? [Dohna asks you how you ended up here.] I was... I was looking into the rifts here in the desert. And...and then... Oh yes! Then I was pulled into a rift!

[You are calming Facette down after Facette has just yelled at your daughter.] Peace, Facette. [You interrupt Facette while she is trying to apologize.] Dohna, I understand the concern you feel for the warriors. I feel each injury to our warriors as though it was my own. That said. Have you seen this Hylian eradicate a rift? [Dohna hesitates.] You have only just met this stranger yourself. How can you tell us to trust her?

[You have heard several Gerudo warriors giving praise to Zelda.] (Interested) Hm. (Turn to Facette) Facette. You heard our warriors. Are you now willing to hear this Zelda out? [Facette orders the warriors to put Zelda in jail.] (Shocked) Facette! What are you doing?! [A Gerudo warrior rushes in with terrible news.] (Concerned) What is it? [You hear the news.] (Commanding) Take me there at once, soldier! [You see a few warriors at the base of the palace.] (With praise) Onward, warriors!

[You and Facette are speaking about the rift and Facette brings up the fact that the warriors have not defeated al of the monsters to get rid of the rifts.] (Yelling) Don't be absurd! Our soldiers have been taken! Do you really think I'd leave them behind?!

[You see Zelda leaving the palace of the chief.] You there -- Hylian! Captain Dohna left a message for you on her way out. She mentioned that she is heading to the oasis, and she'd like you to join her there. To get to the oasis, head due east when you leave town. You can't miss it. That's all she shared for you.

[Zelda has just snuck up on you.] (Scared to himself) I know it's in there! (Frightened as he turns to Zelda) Bah! You scared me! (Nervous) Sorry...frayed nerves. (Friendly) The name's Sago - I'm an archeologist. (Curious) Is there any particular reason you're here? (Concerned) I hope it's not to go inside. There's a monster in there. The other day, I went inside, and I heard this creepy voice...

[You and Zelda have just heard a creepy voice from inside the Eastern Temple.] (Confident) Oh yeah, that's exactly what it sounded like. (Frightened) Yipes! OK, I'm opting out! It might sound friendly, but that's the voice of a monster! I'm not studying the temple while there are monsters about.

[Zelda has just come back from defeating the monster in the temple.] (Scared) I saw something fly past me! (Frightened) I saw something come out of the temple. It looked like a cloud! [Zelda explains that the cloud was a monster.] (Shocked) You're telling me the cloud was a monster? And you defeated it?! (Impressed) Incredible! I'm going to write about all this - and you - in my next paper! (Friendly) But it might take a while to get published...so here's this in the meantime. [You give Zelda an ancient charm.] That's an artifact I found in the Faron Wetlands. Be careful with it, OK? Now I can research the temple. At long last! (Concerned) I...just realized that I learned monsters can talk. Should I mention that in my paper too?

[Zelda has just entered your room in the Eastern Temple.] At long last. a visitor! I was absolutely starved for company. Let's play a game, shall we? I'll make the first move. Just try to keep up!

[You've just been defeated by Zelda.] (Like you've lost) Guh, fine! It seems I need more practice! (Threatening) When next we meet, I will emerge the victor. You can count on that!

[Zelda finds you in the Faron Wetlands after you escaped from the Eastern Temple.] Bahaha! I knew you wouldn't be able to resist a rematch. I have prepared for this day, oh yes. (Threatening) This time, I will not be defeated! [Zelda defeats you.] But...all my training! Hmph! I know when I'm beaten. I'll admit it - you won.

[You are River Zora 1 for this line. You are investigating the den after a rift opened up.] (Concerned) Oh, yeah. Looks like this place got swallowed up bad by the rift. I bet you came here because you're worried about Lord Jabu Jabu, huh? I know we are! He's been running wild all over the place since this rift spread in his den. [Zelda explains that she wants to get into Lord Jabu Jabu's den.] Huh? You want to get in his den?

[You are River Zora 2 for this line. You are investigating the den after a rift opened up.] (Stops and turns to Zelda curiously) Huh? Who's this? (Agreeing) Yeah, we got here fast as we could to see what's going on with him.

[You are River Zora 2 for this line.] (Friendly) If you want the chiefs to play music here, you'll have to go to each village and ask 'em.

[You are greeting Zelda at the entrance to the River Zora Village.] (Greeting) Welcome to the River Zora Village, where friendly hellos and good times flow! (Concerned) At least, uh, normally. Lord Jabu-Jabu's gone berserk. Now we're all just scared.

[You have just heard a strange noise within the village.] (Greeting) Welcome to the River Zora Village, where friendly hellos and -- (Pause; panic) Oh, never mind! What was that loud ruckus all about? I heard Dradd's voice too! What in the world is going on?!

[You are speaking with Dradd about the situation in the region.] (Informing) Our people are scared, Boss! That huge rift opening, Lord Jabu-Jabu on the rampage... [Dradd tells you that he will get Lord Jabu-Jabu to calm down.] Good thinking, Boss. But how will you do that? [Dradd mutters under his breath about Kushara (the Sea Zora chief).] (Concerned) Hold on, Boss. Why are you still squabbling with the Sea Zora chief? You two usually make up right away. It's really dragging on this time. {You notice Zelda right as you are about to leave.] Did you need our chief for something? Sorry, Dradd is busy. The boss has a lot going on right now. Doesn't help that he's having his worst squabble ever with the Sea Zora chief. Their fights are usually small, then just fizzle out. This time, it's blown up completely. [You are reflecting on Kushara's and Dradd's poor performance together.] (Unimpressed) They didn't play in time with each other. Not at all. [Lord Jabu-Jabu begins to inhale and you leap to Dread's defense.] (Warning) B-Boss! Watch out! (Yelling as you are swallowed by Lord Jabu-Jabu) Aaaaah!

[You were just rescued from the imposter Lord Jabu-Jabu by Zelda.] (Scared) Boss! That was terrifying! [You notice Dradd and Kushara are not arguing anymore.] Hey, Boss! Looks like you and Kushara patched things up? [Kushara tells you that Zelda saved you.] (With praise to Zelda) That's amazing! Way to go!

[Inawa is concerned about the crisis happening in Kabul Waters.] (Heroic) Fear not! I have a plan! When have I - the great Dradd - ever let you down? First, I'll get Lord Jabu-Jabu nice and relaxed again! [Inawa asks how you plan to do that.] With music, of course! That'll stop his rampage! We're just THAT good! (Muttering) Then that no-talent Kushara will finally bow down to my superior skills. Heh.

[You see Kushara at Crossflows Plaza.] (Angry) How DARE you! You shouldn't have come here! I'll take care of Lord Jabu-Jabu myself! GET LOST! (Pause) Hey, Kushara! You can stuff your plan! [Kushara tells you that the Sea Zora will calm down Lord Jabu-Jabu.] Ridiculous! We'll do it, not you! [Kushara insults your playing.] Insults! Always insults! Says more about your music than mine! [Zelda has just fixed the rift that you and a Zora Father got caught in.] (Confident) Hmph! Me, of all Zora! Swallowed up by a rift. [Kushara asks you to thank the Hylian (Zelda).] (Annoyed) Who's calling who precious?! You with your frilly gills?! Grrr! [You notice the Zora Father unable to move.] (Getting attention) Hey! What's wrong with you? (No response.) It's like he's stuck back in there! [You are reflecting on Kushara's performance.] (Impressed) Ohhh... That performance... Good as it gets. [Kushara and the Sea Zora swim off towards Zora Cove.] (Yelling after them) Hey! Wait for me! [You are about to leave, but you notice Zelda.] (Remembering) Oh, almost forgot about you1 (Turning to Zelda) Kushara said you saved us. Who are you anyway? [Zelda responds.] (Reflecting) Zelda, huh? [Kushara gives an inspiring speech.] Chief, what inspiring words! Please, tell me how you plan to do it. [Kushara mutters under her breath about Dradd (the River Zora Chief).] (Concerned) I take it that you haven't resolved your latest quarrel with the other chief yet.

[You notice Zelda as you are following Kushara.] Did you have a request of our chief? I am sorry to say that, until she's resolved our problems, she won't have time to help. If our great crisis wasn't bad enough, our chief is quarreling with the River Zora chief. They often have their little quarrels but always make up quickly. Not this time. What's the saying? A squabble a day keeps a friendship in play? Such nonsense. Well, stranger, I shouldn't burden you with our troubles. [Kushara calls for you.] (To Kushara) Yes, at once! (Turning back to Zelda) If you'll excuse me.

This crisis is without equal, and now it's time that I -- Kushara of the Sea Zora -- resolve it. [Your assistant asks you how you plan to calm Lord Jabu-Jabu.] Lord Jabu-Jabu loves our sea music. So I need only get him to listen to us perform. (Muttering) And then Dradd, that tuneless buffoon, will have to applaud my performance.

[You and Dradd (the River Zora chief) are arguing over who is playing better music.] (Dradd has asked you to get lost; angry) My thoughts precisely! Off with you! [You are speaking with the lost Zora child in the cave when Zelda appears.] (In shock) You... The Hylian! Did you truly manage to swim through all those monsters to reach us? (Impressed) Hm, yes. Quite the capable one, aren't you? We'd hoped to get out through there. I can't take the child through those waters. We need another means of escape, (Glacing towards the giant boulder blocking the path) There is that exit, but it's blocked by a pile of rocks. I can't push it - or pull it. I'm sorry to ask, Hylian, but is there anything you can do to help?

[You just witnessed your father and Chief Dradd get caught in the rift.] (With sadness) Ugh... My papa... And Dradd.

[Kushara was explaining the situation to Zelda.] (Serious) Lord Jabu-Jabu wasn't himself! He struck my poor papa wh-who...f-fell into the rift!

[You notice your father shaking uncontrollably after being rescued from the rift.] (Concerned) Boss Dradd! What's wrong with my papa!

[You are frozen stiff after being rescued from the rift by Zelda.] (In fear) C-caught in th-that darkness... Swallowed whole... C-c-can't breathe. Urrrgh... Urrrgh. [Dradd asks what's wrong with you.] (As if you're in pain) Aaaaaah...

[Kushara plays her music and asks if you feel any better.] (With relief) I'm... I'm... (Grateful) I'm OK now, thanks to you.

[You are explaining the situation to Zelda.] (Concerned) M-my son... And Ch-Chief Kushara... They're both trapped in this cave! My son wandered off, and I'd just come here to find him when Lord Jabu-Jabu stormed in! Chief Kushara was nearby. During the confusion, she sensed my son was in the cave. She darted inside to make sure he was safe. [Dradd explains that the rocks covered the entrance to the cave.] What am I to do?

[Dradd manages to push away the rocks thanks to Zelda's assistance.] (With urgency) Y-yes, please! [You find your son in the cave.] (Relieved) My son! You're safe! What a relief! [Your son is crying uncontrollably.] (Comforting) You're all right, Son. Look, we can easily go outside now.

[You approach Zelda as both you and your son are about to leave the cave.] (Grateful) Thank you for saving my boy. We wish you well in your travels.

[You are trapped in a cave along with Chief Kushara. She reassures you that help is on the way.] (With sadness) Y-you promise? [Kushara tells Zelda of the escape routes.] (With sadness) I'll never get out of here! Waaaah!

(Sobbing and crying noises)

[Dradd plays the horn and you instantly feel much better.] (Relieved) Wow! Much better! Thank you! [You and your mother are about to leave the cave, but stop to thank Zelda.] (Grateful) Thanks, Zelda!

[You are muttering to yourself when Zelda arrives.] (Muttering) How do I begin to narrow this down? [You notice Zelda.] Your Highness! I...was just muttering to myself. Uhh...I suppose I could confide in you, Princess Zelda. My name is Beecher. General Wright has asked me to look into a highly sensitive matter. You see, after the rift was mended, we noticed there was one extra soldier in Castle Town. General Wright believes this to mean one of them is an echo hidden among our ranks! So he asked me to see if any of the soldiers seemed suspicious. But my investigation has hit a wall. When I started looking at them more closely... they ALL seemed suspicious! You're not a soldier - so I know you're not the echo! You could help me figure this out!

[You see Zelda talking to a soldier in the barracks.] Your Highness! It's Beecher again! You came to ask about the equipment too? Hah! Two steps ahead of me. [The barracks soldier asks what is going on.] The princess and I are investigating whether one of the soldiers in Castle Town is an echo. [The barracks soldier is in shock.] If it were true, it would follow that there's a missing set of equipment. [The barracks soldier tells you that there was one outfit set outside for disposal that went missing.] (Concerned) I see! That's worrisome. A missing set of damaged equipment, and an extra soldier in Castle Town. What do you make of it, Princess Zelda? [Zelda responds that the echo must have taken the equipment.] Yes, exactly my thought! Someone stole the equipment and slipped in among the soldiers! [The barracks soldier tells you that the equipment that's missing is a used set another soldier traded in with signs of damage.] Find the damaged equipment, and you've got the echo! OK. Time to bring this interloper and their dinged-up gear to General Wright. For accuracy's sake, Princess Zelda, let's confirm with each other who we think it is. (Reminding) Remember, our suspect is a suspicious soldier with damaged equipment.

[General Wright unexpectedly comes into the barracks and you are informing him of the situation.] General Wright, sir! I asked the princess to aid in my investigation. And we've found the culprit! [General Wright gets angry at you for getting Zelda involved with the investigation.] Er, um... Sorry! After searching for the echo for a while, I got paranoid. I didn't know who else to trust. [You bring in the echo and present them to General Wright.] Here's the culprit! [The suspect asks what you mean by 'culprit'.] (Angry) That damaged lance proves it - you stole the equipment and pretended to be a soldier! Why? [The suspect tells you a 'sob story'.] Excuse me? THAT was why? [The soldier explains that he was visiting his friend in Castle Town when the rift appeared. A soldier rescued him and that's how he got inspired to become a soldier.] I understand. But... How should I put this? [General Wright proclaims that the suspicious soldier has the makings of a soldier.] (In shock) P-pardon, sir?! [General Wright is impressed by the soldier's enthusiasm for helping others and unyielding resolve.] General Wright, with all due respect, he's totally untrained, totally untested... [You are interrupted by General Wright who explains that training and experience are easily gained while spirit is not. He goes on to further explain that if the culprit managed to evade the attention of fellow soldiers, he has some skill.] I see...in that case. (Muttering) I do not envy this Capnut kid. 0Capnut asks if he can call you Beech.] (Embarrassed) *sigh* Please don't. We really have to fix the way you address your superiors.

[You've just been brought into the barracks by Beecher.] (Greeting) Howdy-do! Nice to... (In shock) Whoa, hold on. What do you mean "culprit"?

[You've been asked why you stole the damaged equipment.] (Apologetic) Oh gosh! I'm sooo sorry! I just saw how much the soldiers helped people out around here. It made me want to be one of you... So, I pretended I was.

[Beecher is shocked that you pretended to be a soldier.] See, I was visiting my buddy in Castle Town when the rift popped up. I was so scared - I couldn't move! But then a soldier came and saved my hide. It made me feel so, y'know...safe! And I realized that I want to be that guy, the guy who makes people feel safe.

[You are wondering where the special horse for Zelda is.] (Muttering, concerned) Strange they're still gone. They should have come back by now. I wonder if something's happened... [You notice Zelda.] Hm? (Friendly) Would you happen to be Princess Zelda? (Welcoming) Welcome to Hyrule Ranch, your Highness! Lady Impa told us to expect you. I'm afraid we don't have your horse here at the moment. My brother took her out for some exercise. But not to worry! They should be back soon. [You hear yelling.] (Scared) Goodness! What are you shouting so loudly for? You'll fray the princess's nerves!

[You have just arrived at the carrot patch which was swallowed by the rift.] (Concerned) The horse is there - in that rift! What do we do? Oh, Your Highness, I'm so deeply sorry.

[Zelda has just mended the rift and you are calling her horse back.] (Concerned) Poor thing. Must be frightened and hiding somewhere. (Calling out) Heyyy! Come on back now, horsey! (Gives up) Hmm... She's not coming, is she...

[The horse you were taking out for an exercise has fallen into a rift and you are reporting the news to Falfa.] (Yelling) FALFAAA! (Panting) Disaster! We were at the carrot patch northwest of Hyrule Castle, and a rift opened up! The horse threw me off her back to protect me, but she got caught in the rift!

[Zelda has just mended the carrot field rift.] (Concerned) But, Falfa! I don't see Princess Zelda's horse anywhere!

[You see the carrots in the field.] (Realizing) Oh, hey! What about the carrots? She absolutely LOVES carrots! Maybe the smell of a fresh carrot will get her to come back!

Thank you so much! What's your name? [Zelda tells you her name.] (In shock) Princess Zelda? Of Hyrule? R-really? It's a p-pleasure to meet you! Wow! (Greeting) I'm Darston, the, um, recently appointed chief of the Gorons. (Noticing Tri) And, uh... Who's your floaty friend? [Tri tells you her name.] (Friendly) Tri, huh? Nice to meet you too!

[Zelda and Tri follow you to your room.] (Impressed) Wow... This room was such a mess. Someone must've tidied up for me. (Confident) See that behind me? That's a portrait of my dad. Doesn't he look impressive? But Dad made me promise I'd change this portrait one day. So proud. So sure I'd grow up like him. I've left his up, but I did promise, so I have to do it eventually. But never mind that. For now we gotta find the entrance to that shortcut. [Zelda uses the Bind ability to break off the portrait.] (In shock) Huh?! Th-the portrait! You know, this is just like one of Dad's mottos! "Nuggets of Wisdom, Number 34: A breakdown can lead to a breakthrough!" But more important, I think you found that shortcut! Let's go!

[You notice a giant rock blocking the way to the crater.] Uh-oh...there's a giant rock in the way. This path hasn't been used in a while. It probably fell at some point. (Thinking) Hm... (Confident) Leave this to me! (Thinking) Based on the type and size of stone... The angle I'd need to use is... OK! (Heroic) Take this! (Sigh; confident) It didn't work as well as I hoped, but the results sill fit my calculations! (Reflecting) Zelda, we haven't known each other long, but this slate - it's like a map from my father. So the idea of not having it around anymore makes me pretty nervous! But with all we've done, I've realized there's times when carvings on a rock aren't enough... (Sigh) I think you've helped me figure things out. The words on it are valuable, but I can't be a great chief while I'm staring at a slate. To be a great chief, I have to keep my eyes up to see what works best for me! So...let's try something different! [Darston asks you what happened.] I heard there were these new, dark Lizalfos about, so we came to have a look! We were gonna get rid of them, but they were real tough cookies. We had to retreat! So we're waiting in our best protective position in case they attack!

[Darston and Zelda inform you that the Lizalfos have been defeated.] (Impressed) Real impressive that you two handled those Lizalfos! Gotta admit, I wanted to be the one to do it, but I suppose we can all go home at least! [Darston asks you about the crater shortcut.] (Remembering) Oh, yes, the shortcut! (Thinking) Now, where was it? (Gives up) Hmm... Can't recall a thing, I'm afraid! (Impressed) I wanna say, Darston, I'm real impressed with how you're doing so far! I had some concerns about how you'd take to bein' chief, but you're proving me wrong! (Remembering) Oh, and Gol might remember that crater shortcut you're after! Anywho, if you're excuse us...

[You, Darston and Gol are discussing the crater shortcut.] (Remembering) OH! Darston. Your father! That's it! I remember now! Your father once said something about "blocking off the path in my room." [Darston runs off to his father's room.] (Calling off) Darston! He said something about a portrait! (Sighs) And he's gone.

WHOOSH! A rift opened! We got outta there as fast as we could. But now we're too tuckered to move. And I didn't even get any roast! I'm starving!

[You smell fresh rock roast.] (Smelling) I smell...rock roast? (Grateful) It's rock roast! Thank you! Whew... That was delish! I'm raring to go now! Thanks a ton! [Darston asks you about the crater shortcut.] (Confused) Whawazzat? (Realizing) Oh, the shortcut! (Thinking) Now, let me think... Hmm... (Gives up) You know... I can't remember for the life of me! (Grateful) Anyways, thanks for coming to our rescue! Y'know, I wasn't too sure about the leadership shake-up, but you're doing great. See ya around!

[You, Darston and Silv are talking about the crater shortcut.] (Confused) Huh? So you don't know where the crater shortcut is either? (Sigh) I really thought you would've remembered... Now what? [Darston asks you what the shortcut is.] It's a path used by Goron chiefs back in the day. Only after going through its trials and cleansing in the crater would a Goron become chief. The custom faded long before our time though. [Silv mentions Darston's father said something about blocking the path from his room.] Hmm... Come to think of it, I reckon I heard him say something like that too.

[Zelda has just defeated the monster that imprisoned you.] (Heavenly) Priestess. Your power has freed this land, which was swallowed by nothingness. I am the goddess Din, one of the three who created your world.

Humongous firework displays are my life's work. I'm showing off my next creation at the celebration for our new chief! And I want to add a BLAST of color to my latest design! (Fretting) But...even though I've been thinking on it for a while now, I'm not sure what'll help it feel fresh. (Serious) And when Darston asked about it, I said it's gonna be amazing...so I gotta deliver! (Concerned) But ya need blastpowder soil to make fireworks, and I used all mine up while experimenting. I'd get more blastpowder soil, but I also need to create a new firework, and I'm just one guy!

[Zelda brings you some blastpowder soil.] (Smelling) I smell rotten eggs - you must've found some blastpowder soil! Is that for me? [Zelda gives you the soil.] (Warmed) Awww! Ya got me right in the heart with your kindness! Downright inspiring, really. I just...just... (With a jolt of excitement as he gets an idea) THAT'S IT! I've got it! I can adjust the blastpowder ratio to make new colors! Like gold! And aqua! That'll be the perfect thing to celebrate the rift being gone and Darston becoming chief! Now I've gotta get to work! I'll show 'em what a master of the craft can do!

[You've just finished showing off your fireworks display to the rest of the Gorons.] (Grateful) I'm so glad everyone, including Darston, liked the new fireworks! [The soldier asks Zelda to escort you back to town.] I played lots and lots! Now I'm hungry!

[You have just reunited with Romi.] (Grateful) Thank you for helping to bring back my dear daughter! (Concerned) When I heard she had slipped out of town, I didn't know what to do. (Joyful) Thankfully, little Romi is safe now because of Princess Zelda!

[Romi runs out of the throne room in a hurry.] (Yelling) Ah, hey, Romi! Slow down!

[Three Deku Scrubs tell you how lucky you are to get all the cotton candy.] That's what I thought too. Though it is kind of...inconvenient that most of my home is GONE! [One Deku Scrub responds "But unlimited webs...unlimited cotton candy."] I guess that's true. [The Deku Scrubs note that you have a membership card.] Yeah... But I would really like to have my home back. [Zelda mends the rift.] (Impressed) You got rid of it? (Relieved) My home's back to normal! What a relief!

[Zelda escapes from the Deku Scrub Lockup.] (Relieved) Oh, you're free! I hope you're all right. (Grateful) I came to thank you for getting rid of the thorns at my home. (Angry) I used to like that stuff. But I'm fed up with it! I don't even want this stupid membership card anymore! (Curious) Hm? You want my membership card? (Thankful) Sure, why not! [Bempu has just called you annoying to Zelda.] (Annoyed) I CAN HEAR YOU, NUMBSCRUB! (Warning to Zelda) Bempu's the one you should stay away from! They're bitter and nasty, and they enjoy hurting my feelings!

[Tri is surprised that you can see her.] Of course Condé can see you! (Concerned) But, small ones... Aren't you cold, dressed like that? (Bright idea) Condé has an idea. Why don't you stay at my place until the snow blows over?

[You have just led Zelda and Tri to your house.] (Yelling) HEEEY! (Welcoming) So here we are at Condé's house. It's warm and toasty inside. [Zelda and Tri follow you inside.] Welcome to Condé's house, small one. And much smaller one. You won't freeze in here, given that it's toasty-toasty and all. [Tri introduces herself and Zelda.] Zelda and Tri... Condé can remember that! So, Zelda and Tri, you're welcome to rest here until it stops snowing. Oh! Since we're saying names, Condé should say his. Condé's name...is Condé. How nice to have guests! It's been, well...a long, long time! What did you two come up here into the mountains for anyway?

[Zelda and Tri have just fixed the rift.] (Concerned) Zelda! Tri! Where WERE you? Condé was worried, not being able to find you anywhere. You left so fast. (Realizing) Whuh? The mountain! It's clean! It's clean everywhere! [Zelda tells you that she and Tri mended the rift.] (Shocked) What?! You two took care of all that dark gunk? Then you two cleaned the mountain! (Grateful) Wow! Thank you! That makes Condé happy! [Zelda tells you that your big brother is still on his adventure.] (Sad) So Big Brother is still on his adventure. Condé was only seeing the back of some big monster. Condé feels...better. [Tri asks if you are sad that your Big Brother is not home yet.] Not at all! His adventure isn't over yet. That means he'll be back when it is! [Tri says you'll be back to waiting again.] Only until he comes home! And he will! So Condé can wait forever! Is...Tri worried about Condé?

[Link and Zelda have pulled out the Prime Energy from your body.] (Weakly begging) Give it to me... [Link and Zelda wish upon the Prime Energy to be rid of you.] (As if you are defeated) Give it...to...me!

[You are looking at the Triforce in awe with evil intent.] Null relentlessly tore at the fabric of the world, but the goddesses' servants always repaired it. Until now. Now Null can return things to how they were meant to be - back to nothingness.

[The Triforce has split apart leaving you with one piece. Zelda and Link (offscreen) receive the other two pieces.] (Angry) Curse the goddesses! How dare they insinuate that I, a perfect echo, do not have the right! (Threatening) I will take yours last.

[You have discovered that Link has the final piece of the Prime Energy.] (Menacing) Hmph. Well, here you are. I didn't have time to deal with you earlier. But I suppose I'll make the time now. All of the Prime Energy has gathered here. And the great Null will consume it.

[Zelda and Tri have arrived in your presence.] (Welcoming) You have returned quickly, Priestess. So, have you already obtained the Prime Energy?

[Zelda explains that the Priestess he was referring to was an echo.] (Surprised) Oh? The person earlier was an echo of you? She managed to fool this old tree! Hum! I, the Deku Tree, have long watched over and protected this forest. One so ancient as myself is not easily deceived, and yet. My bark overgrew my eyes, it seems.

(Welcoming) Princess Zelda, now that we've arrived, please allow me to welcome you back as well. May I suggest you promptly speak with the king? I'm sure he'll be deeply relieved to hear that you've returned safe and sound.

(Shocked) You haven't heard? Apparently, she's the one who created the rift in the throne room. (Sighing) Yeah... They'll keep popping up so long as she's around. There's even word the king plans on putting her to death to save the kingdom.

(Suspicious) The king told us to be on the lookout for imposters like YOU wandering around. If you're the real deal, then tell me the password. You should know it, unless you're bluffing. [General Wright is confused about the password.] That's right. The king set a password. If you're who you say you are, then you'll know it.

[Kid] I got a trampoline! What a greaaat gift! You can play with it too!

[Grandmother] We're pretty upset around here... One of us villagers has been caught in a rift. And we can't escape either! The forest nearby is crawling with monsters.

[Mother] The rift nearby is huge - and it's terrifying, being so close to our village! It could be in Suthorn Forest too. A strange, old man lives there. I hope he's OK.

[Facette, Chief Seera and Captain Dohna are discussing the rifts. Facette is concerned that Dohna won't be able to hold back the monsters on her own.] (Yelling supportively) She won't be on her own! (Informing) We overheard your discussion. Chief Seera, Lady Facette. This young lady has helped all of us.

[You've just been saved from the rift by Zelda.] (Confused) Ugh... Where.. Where am I? Last I remember, I was pulled into a rift.

[Zelda has just mended the rifts in Gerudo Desert.] (Celebrating) Time to celebrate the rifts going away! C'mon, it's on me!

[You are a male child running around like you are having fun.] (Bored) I'm so, so, sooo bored! They say I can't leave the village because it's dangerous. But I want to play with the Zora! [Zelda asks about the Zora.] (Excitedly) The Zora are the Zora! Some are up in their river, and others are out in the sea! They all play music great! (Concerned) Oh! And their chiefs are always squabbling.

[You are a female adult concerned about Lord Jabu-Jabu.] (Concerned) I've never heard of Lord Jabu-Jabu acting like this before. He's out of control. [Zelda asks what's wrong with Lord Jabu-Jabu.] He's usually quite calm. But he's been on the rampage lately. I think it all started when a rift appeared in his den.

[You are a male resident and you notice the Zora having a bit of an argument at Crossflows Plaza.] (Concerned) It appears that some Zora have come to Crossflows Plaza. But I'm pretty worried. The situation looks like it's getting tense.

[You are a male Zora child. You have just overheard your chief and his assistant are going over to Crossflows Plaza. Zelda has just asked what the chiefs are fighting about.] You mean between Boss and the chief of the Sea Zora? Those two have been squabbling since they were kids. But THIS time - yikes! I get that they play their music differently. But I hope they hurry and make up soon.

[You are a Zora mother. You just witnessed your son swimming without fear for the first time.] (Grateful) Thank you for your help. I can't begin to say how much this meant to us. I'd like to thank you by giving you the same charm I gave to Medaka.

[You are a male Zora child at Crossflows Plaza. You are concerned about your chief.] (Concerned) I came because Dradd called me here. But boy, have things gotten messy for the boss! Wh-what's going to happen now?!

You must be referring to the quarrel between Kushara and the chief of the River Zora. Each has a different way of playing music. That's led them to argue about the smallest things. They usually settle their differences quickly, but their quarrel is going on forever this time. I hope our chiefs can make up soon so they can bring calm to Lord Jabu-Jabu.

[You are a male Zora adult. You are speaking to Zelda about the current arguments going on between Dradd and Kushara.] Rogma said I should come. But I never expected to see the River Zora chief here too. I'm sure this will end...badly.

[Princess Zelda has just approached you.] (Singing) Hey, hi and hello! Acorn Gathering - give it a go? Fun to snag and fun to bag! Gathering acorns is never a drag! (Friendly talk) All you gotta do is pick up the acorns that I scatter about. if you're fast, you'll even get a prize! You get one try for 10 rupees. Whaddaya say?

[Princess Zelda has agreed to play your game.] (Friendly) That'll be 10 rupees, please! [Zelda gives you 10 rupees.] (Singing) Hooray! (Excited) Time to gather!

[Princess Zelda just picked up all of the acorns quickly.] Nice work! You got all the acorns! (Singing) You were amazing! (Excited) All right, then - it's prize time!

[You are an elderly man concerned about your cat.] (Concerned) Still not back yet... Where could that little scamp have gotten off to? [You notice Zelda.] Oh! Excuse me, young miss, would you mind listening to an old man's tale of heartbreak? You see, I can't find my cat anywhere. She's often with the other cats in town - I wish I had a way to ask them if they've seen her! Ah, if only I had suit of cat clothes for moments like this...

[You are a male cat.] (Annoyed) You looking at me? Just say whatever you wanna say. [Zelda asks about the missing cat.] The cat that lives with the old man? Haven't seen her today. Ask another cat.

[You are the old man's female cat.] (Waking up) Hm? I was asleep. What's going on? Oh, my person-friend is looking for me? I guess I have been sleeping here a long time.

[You are a male cat.] A treat for her? (Shocked) Oh! You can understand me? How very unusual.

[You are concerned for your friends who have been taken by the rift.] (Fretting) Oh, this is bad! This is REAL bad! [You notice Zelda.] (Shocked) A Hylian? (Nervous) Oh! Uh... Welcome to Goron City! (Concerned) But this is no time for hellos. A rift sprung up, and a bunch of my friends fell in! And on top of THAT, Darston fell in after! He shouted that he'd save our friends, but he got too close, and the rift swallowed him up! Oh, Darston... And you JUST became chief.

[Zelda has just mended the rift in Goron City. You are a Goron who was concerned about the rift.] (Celebratory) Everyone's back! And the rift's nowhere in sight!

[You have just witnessed Zelda mending the rift. However, your father is nowhere to be found.] (Small child crying) Wait! Whaaa? Where's Papa? Waaah! Papa's gone!

[Zelda has just arrived in the Faron Wetlands.] (Confused) Hmm? You don't look like a Deku Scrub. With that getup, you're clearly an out-of-towner. I'll answer your questions if you have any.

[Zelda has arrived at the Sweet Spot and shows you her membership card to get in.] (Shocked) Membership card! So you've got one! Why didn't you say so? That's a leaf of a different color! We'll open the door for you. Have a sweet time!

[You just witnessed your friends swallowed up by a rift.] (Concerned) Our friends... They disappeared in the thorns... [The other Deku Scrub tells you that they can have all the cotton candy.] (Frustrated) Is that all you think about?!
