Pesterquest Fandub (Homestuck)
Project Overview
Hello! Thanks for stumbling upon my casting call. I'm a huge homestuck fan and when Pesterquest was released I couldn't resist making a fandub for it. This casting call covers everyone in the first 2 volumes of the game.
Please note that this is a long-term project. I plan to dub the entire game as it comes out. If you do not wish to dedicate your time to it, please do not audition. That being said, I understand that things happen and I'm super lenient when it comes to deadlines. Just keep me posted!

Requirements:
- Be prepared to stay for this long-term project
- A good quality mic; little to no background noise

Say something you think would fit
This role is pretty self-explanatory. You basically voice the "reader's" thoughts and actions.
Don't worry about trying to find a voice that matches the icon. Just voice it however you want and in whatever you feel comfortable in. Feel free to experiment!
"You click to the last page of the Homestuck Epilogues. You read it. Then you read it again. You scroll down to go to the next section and find...nothing? What the fuck! Are you serious? What kind of ending was that? Absolutely nothing got resolved!"
(When John mistakenly asks if you're the mailman) "Oh...oh yeah. That's you. You're definitely the mailman. Your outfit is, um. It's in the laundry today. You're just wearing your mailman hoodie. See this symbol? It's the symbol of, uh. Mail.
Volume 1: John-centric
"John tends to be a bit of a goofball, making bad jokes and using off-beat humour and subtle irony. He has a typical nerd nature in that he is very passive and follows commands more easily than the others, complying with commands not because of their logical sense but because he was told to." -Homestuck wiki
I'd like John's voice to be a medium pitch, maybe even leaning towards the higher range. He should sound a just a little bit dorky/nerdy, maybe nasally.
If you think something else would sound better for John feel free to try it out! I'm open to other interpretations.
"i saw you standing out here messing with the mail box. i figured you might be the mail man? even though you're not wearing a mail man outfit."
(When the reader says they can time travel) "i'm still guessing this is all bullshit though. like a prank. that's ok though. i love pranks!
(reader time travels with John) "whoa! it worked! unbelievable...do you know what this means, mr. mail man?" (super excited) "it means MAGIC IS FUCKING REAL!"
Volume 2: Rose-centric
"Rose's personality can be described as one of stoic intelligence. There's no denying that she's one of the smartest characters, and she isn't reluctant to show it through inventive use of her extensive vocabulary. She can seem snarky and even hurtful at times due to her constant sarcastic tone, and is fairly reclusive, rarely initiating conversation unless it is important. She conceals her true feelings rather well." -Homestuck wiki
I imagine her having a relatively steady tone while speaking (but not monotone!) and full of composure.
If you think something else would sound better for Rose feel free to try it out! I'm open to other interpretations.
"Your predilections toward mailman mimicry weren't all that John told me about. He also said that you had...certain powers. Powers of teleportation and time travel. I told him that he must be mistaken, since it's a well-known and accepted fact that magic, although a popular and highly engaging subject of fiction, is fake as hell.
(talking about alcohol) "I've often wondered what, exactly, the merits of consuming this are. It tastes, quite literally, like burning." (takes a sip) "Bluh! That's terrible!"
Volume 1: Dave has an off-screen convo with John
Volume 3: Dave-centric
"Dave is introduced to readers as a "really cool dude", which is shown throughout the early acts of the story. His incredible coolness also enables him to stay level-headed when dealing with supernatural things or generally disconcerting things. But despite the indifferent front he puts up, Dave cares about his friends. He uses profanity by far the most out of the four kids and has a tendency to speak using strange metaphors." -Homestuck wiki
Dave is a lot less emotive/expressive than his friends, due to him trying to keep up his "cool dude/stoic" facade (but still not monotone).
If you think something else would sound better for Dave feel free to try it out! I'm open to other interpretations.
(John telling him that the mailman said no mail came in) "between the game and my sweet present going missing something smells goddamn fishy here. john are you sure the mailman didnt just steal all your shit?"
"my alarm bells are going fucking haywire here. it sounds like this incompetent dipshit just lost all your mail and tried to cover his ass."
"are you sure he didnt fuck it up somehow like get mailman stand on it and in a fit of shame and panic like...buried it, or dunked it in a smelly hole?"
As of these first 2 volumes, Jade doesn't make a physical appearance yet, but he does have a conversation with Rose.
"Jade has a very quirky personality, and often dozes off to sleep, then wakes up without any recollection of ever falling asleep. She is forgetful and wears colorful reminder rings on her fingers. She has repeatedly proven herself to be very brave and resourceful and cares deeply about her friends." -Homestuck wiki
High-pitched and always always happy despite the situation.

"sorry! i had to scold bec hes been acting really weird all of a sudden...anyway is this the same mailman that john was talking about?? the fake one who hung out with him?"
"She seems to possess a tense relationship with her daughter and is initially seen as being unsupportive of her, either being completely oblivious to her daughter's interests or aware of them but giving Rose gifts that she hates on purpose. Rose believes her mother is constantly making her life miserable through cruel irony. However, she has been speculated to have more empathy for her daughter than she lets on." -Homestuck wiki
She is an alcoholic and always drunk so take that as you will when giving her a voice.
(trying to intimidate by conjuring a tiger but conjures pumpkin instead) "fuck. pumpkin. what pumpkin?"
