Persona 5 the Abridgimation Episode 1
Project Overview
Hi! I'm a novice abridger. I have already posted 3 videos on my Youtube channel with the name "Invader Nny". Check there to see my work! This is a new project that me and another have been thinking about for a while. The both of us have written a script for the first episode in what we hope is going to be an ongoing series.
Roles:
If you're familiar with Persona 5, then you should know of the Phantom Thieves in the show itself. For these characters, I would like to limit auditions to those who would be willing to voice these characters again. Ren, Ryuji, Ann, and Akechi are the members of the Phantom Thieves that make appearances in this first episode. This also applies to most of the known recurring characters. The standard rule is: If a role has a number on the end of it, they probably aren't going to require much of a commitment.
Requirements:
I would like any auditions to have appropriate recording conditions. Any background noise, room noise, or bad audio quality will likely hurt chances of being chosen for any auditioned roles.
Payment:
Unfortunately, I am a very small Youtuber and a college student. I can't afford to pay. Any changes in these situations might help with changing this in the future, but I would love if you would audition for this project.
Extra Notes:
Discord is recommended as that is my main method of communication with my previous VAs.
While I would like auditions to be limited to people willing to commit, I also realize that I am a very small-time Youtuber and that I am asking a lot. If you would like to audition, but think you won't be able to commit don't let that hold you back from trying.

Ren, overall, is a very quiet and kind of sarcastic kid. I'd like to have whoever plays Ren to also play Arsene as well. Arsene should sound like Ren but more serious and intense for the most part. We've also decided to have Ren be gay in this parody. This isn't for the purpose of 'shipping' or anything like that necessarily, but rather we thought it would add another interesting trait to a character that is pretty silent in the anime itself.
Ren: So wait, I’ll be staying in Leblank’s attic? Didn’t you just say my parents paid you to take care of me? This is the best you could do?
Arsene: Are you going to sit back and watch? Or are you going to take action? He’s going to die if you do nothing. Did you do nothing before?
Ren: Oh I’m gay. COOL!
Ryuji is a foul-mouthed delinquent. He has a past with the gym teacher Kamoshida that makes him quite aggressive when faced with him. Throughout the series we plan to have him play the 'average guy' role. He will be the only character throughout the series who will note how ridiculous and absurd their new adventures leave them in. Personally, I love Max Mittelman's interpretation of this character a lot. I would like our version to sound somewhat like that as well, but please don't limit yourself if you think you have a great voice for this character.
What? Of course he is! Don’t you go to Shujin? He’s the volleyball coach. You’re a second year and you don’t know Kamoshida? OH! Are you that transfer student that killed a guy!?
And that’s when I realized the duck was actually- wait, what the hell is that?
OH SHIT I DON’T WANNA DIE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF YOU AREN”T GOING TO RUN THEN HELP ME!
Sojiro is a gruff man. He is in no way happy to have this random teenager live in his shop. We plan to have him gradually become kinder to Ren as the series progress, but as of right now is isn't too prominent.
Are you two going to buy anything?
Don’t smart off to me you delinquent! *sigh* I’m Sojiro Sakura, your parents paid me to let you stay here while you’re on probation. So you’re now legally my responsibility.
Akechi's character in the series as a whole will be extremely exaggerated. The plan is to have him be an obvious psychopath. He will say very obviously insanely violent things, but no one will catch on. Even though he has only one line in this first episode, he will be a recurring character. I would like auditions be limited to those willing to do his voice in later episodes, but this is basically a trial episode so don't let that dissuade you.
FUCK! REALLY?! All of them? Ugh Fine.
Ann is a very typical teenage girl. With the exception that she's being sexually harassed by her teacher, her friend is suicidal, and she works part-time as a model. Ann is going to change a lot in earlier episodes but for this episode we just need a typical teenage girl.
That’s a great distraction! You even managed to miss the civilians!
Oh uh………sure I guess. (This line should sound kind of disgusted. She doesn't want to agree but kind of has to.)
Sae is a very earnest prosecutor. She should sound very serious and concerned about bringing the truth to light.
Why won’t you let me see him?
Oh Jesus….Look I need you tell me everything! Why did you do these things? How did you cause such major incidents! ('Oh Jesus' should sound really disturbed)
Kobayakawa is a very fat man. Every line he says should be broken up by heavy breathing and heavy 'B' noises. That's the joke. Get it?
You better not…..cause….any trouble you hear me young man…….
*DEEP BREATH* Just because we allowed you to go to school here doesn’t mean you won’t be watched for misbehavior!
Sadayo Kawakami is a very 'over it' teacher. She's bored of her job and finds it tedious and annoying. She should sound as if she's on the very of falling asleep or just very bored.
Give him a minute.
Just stop by the faculty office tomorrow and I’ll show you to your classroom.
Kamoshida is a perverse, violent, and terrible human being. When he isn't actively threatening people in real life, however, he sounds just like your average teacher. The Shadow of Kamoshida is his true self. It should sound sinister and menacing.
Kamoshida: Hey do you two need a lift?
Shadow Kamoshida: And weird….is exactly what the king ordered.
This is just a background character. The first line should sound very excited as he thinks he won a card game and the second one should be really hostile.
Aha! Full House!
You’re cheating! I’ll kill you!
This is an extra character. His lines should be over the top but believable.
Oh yeah? Well check out this ROYAL FLUSH!
PROVE IT ASSHOLE!
This character is an extremely violent individual. If you've seen the anime, this is the guy who beats up Ren while he's signing his confession. We would like all of his lines to sound angry, mean, and overall pleased with what he's doing.
I can’t believe they’re paying me to beat the shit out of a kid!

This character is just a simple, but confused man. He's a prosecutor holding a child in custody for a crime that shouldn't exist.
Well we can’t actually legally hold him here for much longer.
I will be asking that this role be filled by a single person playing the twins Caroline and Justine. Since they are the same person I would like the voices to be quite similar. Justine should sound quiet and reserved while Caroline is brash and loud. The butterfly should sound mysterious and oddly enchanting.
Butterfly: It’s time for you to tell your story…..this may be your only chance to survive the situation you find yourself in….so think back……think to what began this horrible journey you’ve had to walk…
Caroline: SHUT UP!
Justine: Welcome to our Velvet Room.
This is a very minor character. She only says this line. She should sound like a typical star-struck girl with a crush.
Isn’t Akechi awesome! He solves criminal cases and he’s not even older than we are!
This is your stereotypical grumpy old man. He should sound like he hates the youth of today with a passion.
Kids these days....... Back in my day, when a train crashed, you walked it off like a man
This character should sound like a stereotypical feeble old woman.
Well dear didn’t you shatter your hip when you went to grab the TV remote
