Voiced by Jamieson Price

Sojiro is a middle-aged man. He has slicked-back dark hair with a receding hairline, a chinstrap beard with a goatee that flares out, and wears glasses.

He wears a pink dress shirt that goes up to his elbows, a black striped apron with white vertical lines and two buttons at the top, khaki capris, and white shoes.

  • What a troublesome kid I’ve taken in…

I was asked to do it, and I just…happened to agree to it…

  • As you can see, I’m pretty damn busy, both at work and in my private life. If you could lend a hand, it’d really be a great help…

  • Sure, and watching after you is just a walk in the park. Either way, I won’t ask you to work for free. If you agree to help me, then…I’ll teach you how to make the perfect cup of coffee. Not a bad trade, eh?

Voiced by Sarah Anne Williams

Chihaya is a cheerful woman with a lovely atmosphere about her, with a rumor of her fortunes being infallible. This is revealed to be accurate, but she cannot predict the effect that her fortunes themselves have on the world, and doing her side quests cause her readings to change. She is initially frustrated and suspicious about this, but soon comes to realize that this implies a better world than she had thought. She has a tendency to lapse into her native rural accent if sufficiently upset and shouting.

  • (shocked) Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!? The sequence of arcana has completely changed! “Death” has moved far off into the future…
(disappointed) But there’s no way that could’ve happened…Without you breaking the law. I mean, how could an ordinary high school student change the course of fate…?

  • (annoyed)…Fine. I’m just going to have to verify your power. The very power that reversed my tarot card prediction! Oh, I know…I’ll read your fortune!
(sad) Please, I beg you…I need to know if fate truly can be changed…

  • (flustered) Oh, I am! I am! Ok then, I look forward to verifying your ‘skills!’

Hifumi is a young lady who attends Kosei High School. She holds the championship title in the Female Shogi League. Her appearance has gained her attention as the “too beautiful shogi player.” She practices hard and gives interviews every day for the sake of her mother and for the world of shogi. The protagonist meets Hifumi in a church located in Kanda.

  • (calm) So…you like shogi?
(flustered) Huh? Oh, um…thank you very much…

  • (happy) Ok, just a quick game then. Twenty seconds per move…if that’s all right with you.
    (claiming victory) Check!
(happy) It’s checkmate no matter how you look at it. Well then, that will be all for today.

  • (calm) If it’s alright with you, may I request another match sometime? I feel…a gambler’s spirit emanating from you. You become my playing partner so that I can research new moves. Is that agreeable?

Often found drunk in the Cross Roads Bar...

Ichiko is a paparazza in her mid-20s. She will write whatever story sells, even sometimes manipulating and twisting the information in her articles for the sake of clickbait and attention, and even if it means she does not have to take the time to properly research the truth. She used to be a more stringent journalist, but a story of hers was censored when she made a story critical of Masayoshi Shido and was permanently reassigned to entertainment-and more importantly, lead to the disappearance and framing of her partner. Feeling betrayed and used, Ichiko became incredibly cynical, sure of goodwill and unselfish motives being a sign of a manipulator. Over the course of her Confidant, she gradually becomes more idealistic again and chooses to go back to getting to the bottom of the scandal, recognizing that there is a point to truthful reporting even if it does not give her the fame she wants.

  • (drunk) Haha, what a surprise, I thought you were joking, yet, here you are.

  • (serious) Do you know the Phantom Thieves of Hearts? You know, that case the public has been focused on lately. I was pursuing the issues of people randomly entering into a shut-down state, but I’m lacking intel…

  • (drunk) Hey, how ‘bout we do this…you supply me with info on the Phantom Thieves…amd I’ll write articles based on what you tell me about them. You know the Phantom Theives who you love oh-so-much.…All right then! It’s a deal!

Role assigned to: Yuuz★愛

Kawakami is a highly competent and professional teacher who never lets her ever-mounting stress and exhaustion show visibly in either of her jobs. While she initially acts very coldly towards the protagonist, this was because she thought he was a problem student and felt unsafe around him. After he stands up to Suguru Kamoshida, she realizes that he was given a poor reputation for no good reason and becomes far friendlier, showing her more compassionate and involved side. She is also something of a hopeless romantic, developing an attraction towards older students who show her kindness and understanding, which leads to her occasionally projecting her own amorous feelings on the protagonist during the early part of her Confidant. Unlike Kamoshida, however, she is aware pursuing a relationship with a student would be unethical and cares about whether or not her students consent to her attentions-in a romantic version of the Cooperation she tells the protagonist to come back after he graduates from high school to prevent putting undue pressure on him.

In her "health delivery" job, Kawakami effects a stereotypically moe personality, acting energetic, cute, and naive. As she herself admits, her age makes this come off as shallow and fake, and she regularly breaks character out of fatigue.

  • Being over half a day late on your first day…? Can you explain yourself?
Ugh, you can’t be serious. I’ll have you introduce yourself when class resumes. Follow me.

  • The way you opposed Mr Kamoshida, I’d say you’re earnest and have a strong sense of Justice. That being said….you called a maid service and requested me?

  • I see…Oh, that’s right. You have a criminal record…Ok, then how about this…I’ll let you skip class a few times…and in exchange you won’t tell anyone that I’m moonlighting as a maid. Sound good?

Standard young boy's voice.

Shinya is an elementary school boy who plays at the Gigolo arcade of Akihabara. He takes pride in his marvelous power in a certain online gun shooting game, and is known as the boy genius player. He seems to long for the “power” of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. The protagonist met Shinya in Akihabara Gigolo while looking for a firearms instructor to defeat the Shadow Self of Yoshikuni Nejima, a notorious arcade cheat in Shibuya Gigolo (as his cognition of being invincible made his Shadow superhumanly evasive). and they play a shooting video game where Shinya was able to easily beat the protagonist. As the Confidant progresses, it's revealed that Shinya's inferiority complex flows from the pressure his mother Hanae puts on him, in particular her desire to see him crush his competition and swallow his compassionate traits, believing that this will help him succeed in life-and more importantly for her, salvage her own ego for not having the success she wanted.

  • Which means…you were able to contact the real Phantom Thieves! No way! How’d you do it?
That’s so cool…So they want to remain anonymous. I wish I was able to talk to with them-or something-though. But you fulfilled your part of the deal, so I’ll teach you how to shoot.

  • (annoyed) No, no, no. You’re just stopping their movement by doing that. Ugh! No! Not like that! Are you taking this seriously!? You gotta focus on your second shot!

  • All right, looks like you kinda got the hang of it. If you want I can teach you a few other moves too!

Tae Takemi is the owner of Takemi Medical Clinic in Yongen-Jaya. She believes in her own theory of pharmaceutics and sells barely legal prescriptions to her patients secretly. She originally worked for a university but was fired after she was scapegoated for a disastrous medical trial she advised against, and it is eventually revealed her clinical trial is actually an attempt to perfect the drug and regain her credibility. Later, it is revealed the patient who died actually survived, but lost her confidence in Tae's old hospital and transferred out-to prevent bad PR, the director (who was jealous of Tae to begin with, feeling he only recieved his position due to nepotism) covered up her survival and perjured Tae for the patient's "death"; after stealing his heart, he admits the truth and Takemi's good name is restored.

  • Good evening. Do you remember anything from the moment you took the medicine until now? Hm, by the look in your eyes, I’d say you don’t. Oh well. All that matters is that thanks to you I was able to get some good data.

  • Ok, it’s my turn to make good on my part of the deal. That’s why I waited until you woke up. I don’t want the general public to know about my original medicines.

  • So you’re strictly prohibited from disclosing what happens here to anyone…understood? Then it’s a deal.

Yoshida is an unpopular man who gives soapbox speeches outside of Shibuya Station. In the 20 years since he started, he’s lost seven consecutive elections due to his tempestuous personality and political scandals. Given certain circumstances, considerably few people stop and listen to Yoshida’s words, but his speeches are actually good. He is confronting the country's future with seriousness. The protagonist first meets Yoshida during the former's part-time in the beef bowl restaurant. The player can volunteer to aid in his public speech to build up the Confidant with him, during which it was revealed that the major scandal that destroyed his credibility was not his fault; his old mentor misappropriated funds for his own purposes and put the blame on Yoshida. By the end of the Confidant, Yoshida has managed to win a sizable base for his upcoming campaign and the real culprit behind the scandals is revealed, allowing him to confront problems head-on.

  • The next generation will lead us into the future and yet they have no plan for how to arrive there.
    Wha-?

  • Everyone says I have no chance to get elected, so why come to me?
You mean giving speeches? I’m afraid I’m not so great that you’d be able to learn anything.

  • The most important part about a good speech is believing in yourself……perhaps one day…I will believe in myself again.
Very well. If learning how to give a great speech is what you seek, then I’d be happy to instruct you. In exchange, I would like for you to continue assisting me.

Yuuki is a second year high school student at Shujin Academy and classmate of the protagonist and Ann Takamaki in class 2-D. He is a member of Suguru Kamoshida's volleyball club, and is a frequent target of Kamoshida's abuse. He is also often told by Kamoshida to call the students for his "advice sessions" and spreads bad rumors on the internet about anyone disliked by Kamoshida including the protagonist even though Yuuki is fully aware this is wrong.

  • You guys are the Phantom Thieves…aren’t you…?
There probably a lot of people who have high hopes for the Phantom Thieves next move. So, I’ve also implemented an anonymous poll on the site.
Do you believe in the Phantom Thieves, or not?

  • I’d really like to help out in the Phantom Thieves’ acts of justice! …Can I, please?
I’ll live up to your expectations…I promise.

  • Isn’t it crazy? The Phantom Thieves are finally making their worldwide debut…! It’s not just Japan anymore. The whole world’s waiting to see the Phantom Thieves’ next move.

Role assigned to: WhiteroseVA

In this case, a different VA may voice the two sisters.

Caroline dislikes the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and openly hopes for their eventual arrest. She tends to speak to Justine in a demeaning manner. Additionally, she doesn't seem to hold the protagonist in very high regard, as she refers to him as "inmate," and kicks him into the Velvet Room whenever he goes to enter. She is generally ill-tempered and impatient, even after the twins' Confidant levels up and she grows to respect the protagonist as a friend. There are certain inconsistencies between how she seems and her real personality, and as according to Justine, she was mortified when she first witnessed persona fusion and practiced intimidating poses to use on the protagonist but is too embarrassed to. She could be considered a tsundere, but this is relatively ambiguous.

  • (annoyed tone) About time you’ve come to. On your feet inmate! Hey, are you laughing at us?!

  • (angry tone) Know you’re place inmate!

  • (annoyed tone) It’s like you forget where you are, Inmate! You’ve got some real guts though! With that spirit, you should have no trouble making progress!

Justine, in contrast, appears to be calm and soft-spoken but still treats the protagonist as her prisoner. She is the first to question what their true purpose is, and realizes something is amiss with possessing an intricate bookmark but having no books to read. While guarding an entrance to the Velvet Room, she whittles away at her boredom by spinning her clipboard.

  • (emotionless, soft tone) A wardens, we simply feel satisfaction in seeing your rehabilitation progress.

  • (emotionless, soft tone) If you have the will to continue your penal labour, we can grant you greater freedom within this prison.
