Patti Mayonnaise Voice-Match Needed

Project Overview

READ BEFORE AUDITIONING

This is for an unpaid project that’s part of my series on YouTube “Entertainment Reenactments,” where I script down scenes from any entertainment mediums such as movies or TV shows, and have them performed in the voices of characters and/or celebrities completely separate from the source material being quoted, kinda like the reenactments on Rob Paulsen’s “Talkin’ Toons” podcast, except they’re more meta with the fictional characters being their own actors, kinda like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (1988).” For example, one of my previous entries was a scene from a SpongeBob Squarepants episode performed in the voices of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pete, and here’s a link to said reenactment for reference: https://youtu.be/YDdl9HFw50U

So to avoid confusion, these videos aren’t fandubs as I never use footage from the source materials in this series, but instead are audio only with visuals edited by me, and they aren’t live readings, but are all recorded, edited, and uploaded in advance since I usually schedule these. And now my reason for this casting call: I never reuse any of the same characters from the original scenes to perform their own same roles again, but instead use different characters to make the reenactments more original. So bearing in mind that I need someone to voice Patti Mayonnaise from “Doug,” if you’ve guessed that I’m doing a reenactment of something other than Doug, then you’re correct! The reenactment itself is of a scene from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)” using Patti in place of Snow White.

Requirements: If you’d like to audition for this project, I’d like your audio to sound nice and clear with little to no background noise (doesn’t have to be a professional mic, but I’d prefer it to be higher quality than a cell phone recording, or a cheap $20 mic), whether you’re a beginner, or an experienced VA, remember that the ability to act is more important than voice accuracy, and to whoever ends up cast, I’ll need the lines by Wednesday, October 10th, so if you can’t make the time to record by then, then I wouldn’t recommend auditioning. And most importantly, have fun!

Patti is a twelve year old girl originally from the 90s Nickelodeon series “Doug” (which also had a Disney continuation), and has a unique raspy voice and Tennessee accent (I only used “Texan” because it’s close to a Tennessee accent which isn’t listed here). It should be noted that the lines listed below won’t be used in the reenactment itself, I just borrowed them from the clip in the link below to make it easier to compare to her canon voice from the show performed by Constance Shulman. Here’s the reference clip of Patti: https://youtu.be/RhaMT0funj8?t=4

  • (calling out from a distance) “Hey Doug! Hurry, or we’ll miss the show!”

  • (mild disgust) “Oh, I hate coffee. It tastes like chalk.”

  • (casual) “I had a really good time tonight, Doug.”
