Project Overview
Role Expectations:
Voice actors must be able to replicate the distinct vocal qualities of SpongeBob and Patrick, including:
SpongeBob – High-pitched, energetic, and expressive. His voice is full of enthusiasm, childlike wonder, and comedic over-exaggeration. He fluctuates between excitement, naivety, and dramatic intensity, often within a single line. His signature laugh is a must!
Patrick – Deep, slow, and goofy. He has a relaxed, dimwitted tone with moments of unexpected wisdom. His delivery is often slightly delayed, reflecting his slow-witted nature, but must still land with perfect comedic timing.
Improvisation & Performance:
Candidates should have strong improv skills, as both characters rely heavily on spontaneous humor, exaggerated reactions, and over-the-top delivery. Being able to think like the character and add natural, unscripted moments while staying true to their personalities is key.
Ability to react naturally in character to different situations, even outside of a script.
Strong comedic timing with the ability to pace jokes and pauses for maximum effect.
Emotional range – While both characters are funny, they also have moments of sincerity, panic, and deep (if goofy) thought. The actor must be able to switch between emotions fluidly.
Technical Requirements:
High-quality recording setup (clear mic, minimal background noise).
Ability to follow direction and adapt performances based on feedback.
Availability for potential live-directed sessions via Zoom or other platforms.
If you can capture the heart, humor, and voice of SpongeBob or Patrick, we want to hear from you! Be prepared to submit recordings of classic lines, as well as demonstrate your ability to improvise in character.
