Hello, wonderful voice actors and singers! I need ten eleven voices for a dumb idea I had a couple weeks ago: The Twelve Games of Quick Play.
If you can't guess from the title, it's The 12 Days of Christmas, but with Overwatch-themed lyrics! Wow! Crazy! How original!
Casting & roles may or may not be updated after BlizzCon (which is why the deadline is set for the week after).
Here's the requirements:
• A halfway-decent mic! This should probably just be a site-wide standard, but it's worth repeating. Now, if you just have background white noise, it's likely fixable, and I'll certainly consider everyone based on the merits of their voice along with their setup.
• The ability to mimic the voice and/or accent of a hero from Overwatch (and specifically one of ten set below). This does not have to be perfect, especially as you'll be singing in it. If you can't quite nail the perfect Swiss German accent, but you still sound vaguely endearing and Mercy-like, please audition! Quality is more important than accent. (For one or two characters, like Reaper and Roadhog, it may be difficult to carry a tune while trying to sound like someone who smoked a pack of cigarettes every day for fifty years. If you can keep the rhythm, that's fine. Just do your best!)
• A decent singing voice! I'm not looking for an angelic choir or anything, but if you can't sing The 12 Days of Christmas, then...why are you here?
I hope you see fit to work with me, because I'm pretty excited about this. Thanks, and see you all in a few weeks!
BlizzCon Update:
Hello, wonderful people of Casting Call Club!
Wow! This project is going so much better than I could have expected - 53 auditions so far! I can't say wow enough times. So I won't try. Becuase it would probably get annoying.
BlizzCon isn't over yet, but the part relevant to this project has already come up: the new character Sombra has finally been revealed. While that's great news for everyone following the ARG/playing the game, it unfortunately means I need to edit some lines in the final product, so keep an eye out in the coming days; no promises, but there may be one more role coming up (no idea who it might be yet).
One way or another, on November 12th (in one week) I will make casting decisions, so if anyone out there has been on the fence, please audition! I would love to work with you.
Thanks, everyone!
BlizzCon Update #2:
We have one more role to audition for: the glorious tank from Germany, Reinhardt Wilhelm! Yes, he'll be singing too. He's basically Santa already.
See you all in six days!
Final Update:
Eighty-one auditions so far. This is really unbelievable. Thank you all so much for your interest.
If you haven't auditioned yet, but were thinking of doing so, now's your last chance! The project should close in a little over twelve hours (11:30 p.m. EST) and I will finalize casting tonight and tomorrow.
Thanks, and see you all later!
Project Over!
I am so taken aback by the eighty-seven auditions this project got. Thank you all so much for your auditions; I never expected it to get so big. I've made final casting decisions, but they were all pretty difficult to choose, and I hope no one is discouraged if it wasn't you. You're all wonderful and I hope to see you on the next project.
If you're curious to see the final product, the video will be live here in mid-December is live right here! Thanks again for all your support, and have a lovely day.
