Our Lovely Escape, Prologue Chapter [Fan Voiced]

Our Lovely Escape, Prologue Chapter [Fan Voiced]

Project Overview

Project Background/Description

Your life is a peaceful one. Each day, you work alongside your (otherwise?) all-female workforce in the pursuit of creating otome games. Will you complete your life with a cute girlfriend? Will you be doomed to a life of normalcy? Or...? Find out in this (mostly...?) normal visual novel!

Developed by Reine Works and Published by Top Hat Studios Inc. , Our Lovely Escape is a visual novel that is under the genre of slice-of-life and romance with a little bit of drama (and Yuri too, in a way).

The game was first released as a demo back in 31st of August, 2018, and after more than a year of development, the full game was released on 1st of October, 2019.
Personally, I think that the game itself doesn't live up to its price. Reviews on Steam is a mix of positive and negative. And the features of the game is lacking, as well as a bit buggy.
In short, this visual novel, although interesting in some way, isn't really polish enough to be worth the price it is selling at.

Thus, I got this idea. Since I did brought the game (after some really dumb thought process), and maybe there are some people out there who are still considering whether or not to invest in this game.
I thought, why not help out my fellow visual novel readers out there, and create a short series of videos that goes through the story of the game so people can know and learn about the story without buying the game itself.

But here's are two issues on visual novel type of videos:

  1. 1. Watching a playthrough or a walkthrough of a visual novel, could be very boring if the story just isn't interesting enough.
  2. 2. Because a visual novel requires player to read through dialogue via text boxes, watching someone else do it is essentially having someone else control the pace of the dialogue of the game, which isn't really the ideal way to enjoy a visual novel.

This is my idea, the original game is not voiced, so, I thought, maybe adding voices to the game characters will help solve, if not, alleviate the above mentioned issues.
With voiced characters, we can, first, make it ever slightly more interesting, and two, help people who watches the video but have a slow reading pace to keep up easier with the video.

Now let's move to the important things. Information on this casting call.

Project Casting Call Information/Description

First and Foremost

THIS IS A NON-COMMERCIAL PROJECT. ALL WORK DONE IN THIS PROJECT WILL NOT BE REWARDED WITH PAYMENT, BUT INSTEAD WITH SATISFACTION AND EXPERIENCE.

So yeah, this is just an idea I came up with on a whim and there is absolutely no money involved in anything. All of this are volunteer work that just rewards you with satisfaction of completing something as well as experience that you may gain during the process of this project.

Also another point

This project may be a success, or it may just be a failure. I won't be so bold as to say that this project will be a guarantee success, but I can say that I will try my best to make this work. So be informed if you are interested to join me on this. The project may attract just 10, or 100, or 1000 viewers or even more, or it may very well just have 1 or 2 views and that's it. So be aware of this.
And to follow up with that:

THIS IS A CASTING CALL FOR JUST ONLY THE PROLOGUE CHAPTER OF THE STORY, MEANING I WILL HAVE JUST THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME MADE INTO A VIDEO AND HAVE IT UP ON YOUTUBE. IF THAT VIDEO ON THE PROLOGUE CHAPTER YIELDS RESULT THAT MEETS OR EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS, THEN WORK ON THE NEXT CHAPTER WILL CONTINUE, OTHERWISE, IT WILL BE THE END OF THIS PROJECT. SO BE ADVISED AND ONLY AUDITION IF YOU UNDERSTAND ALL OF THIS.

Now let's get to the rules:

  1. 1. Like all projects, have a decent quality mic that can produce clear voice and no background noises.
  2. 2. Be active. Respond when you are called for and when needed. Ensure that you indeed have free time to spare during the production of this project.
  3. 3. Be respectful. Toxic behavior is not appreciated. The ban hammer will strike you if you toxic.
  4.  4. Have a good grasp on the English language, that will be our language of communication as well as the language of the game.
  5. 5. Can actually commit to this. I know it's non commercial and all but still, please, if you sign up for this, be ready to commit till the end.
  6. 6. Of course, have a Discord ID.
    7. Last but not least, I want you to enjoy this and have fun, No stress, no pressure.

Latest Updates

  • VAs are finally casted

From the title alone, I'm pretty sure this update is self-explanatory. Yes, all the VA roles has been casted to those who have received the most votes from their trial run, them being: Sylleblossom as Lissa Satsumi as Alexis mizuki_chan0hime01 as Mayu BearInTheRain as Male Protag corsaira as Female Protag Jaguar Quinn as The Waitress Thank you to every single one of you guys who have submitted an audition. There are some of you who are not casted but also really did provide quite a suitable voice for the character, but alas, there can only be one, and to those for didn't get the role you auditioned for, unfortunately, your audition/trial didn't make the cut. :( To those who got casted, I will have an update soon in the Discord server so just stay tuned for now. Also another thing is, the staff roles are still currently empty. The staffs are not a necessity, however, it indeed will help with the production of the project if someone were to fill in. So to those who auditioned for other roles but didn't made it, if you are interested at giving a helping hand, you could try for those role if you're confident that you have the skills. :| Finally, once again, thank you to all who sent in an audition. The production will start soon and once its done, I will have it on YouTube and maybe also some other video platforms if the VAs and staff wants to. I would probably have the link to the end product on my profile so, if any of you guys wanna check it out, it'll be there. :) That is all for this update. Thanks for reading, Bye~ P.S. I actually started a whole new project on CCC, that project is much more large-scaled, very experimental and probably might not even see the light of day......well it depends. Anyways, if you guys wanna check it out, here's the link to it: https://www.castingcall.club/projects/manga-fandub-for-lesser-known-titles-extremely-experimental
  • So close, yet so far....

Hello all. I have a few important updates this time so I'll get straight to the point: 1) The initial deadline for auditions is Dec 2, and well, that has come and past. However, the audition have Not Ended, thus, the NEW deadline for auditions will be until Dec 8. 2) To those who have auditioned for VA role, I have invited a few of you guys to do the trial run. If you have auditioned but did not get the invite, don't fret just yet. Those who have been invited may have made the cut from the 3 lines during audition but maybe some of them won't make the cut during the trial run, so if that is the case, I will search for a different person from those who have auditioned. 3) So why is the audition extended despite point number 2? Well... 3A) There are still some roles that have yet to receive audition or don't have enough auditions which are, VA: Waitress, and Staff: Support Video Editor, Support Script Writer. 3B)Like I mentioned, if the current ones that I have invited to do the trial run doesn't make the cut, I will go back to search the audition list. That is all for this update. To those who received the invitation, congrats and keep it up. Thanks for following this project. :)
  • A very smol update

Ok, well, haha.......apparently I completely missed out a character that exist in the game that has some lines of her own. It's the lovely waitress that is on duty in the cafeteria. The lines she has are so little that I honestly just don't remember her existing. Anyways, since she indeed have some legit lines, might as well have them voiced too, otherwise, it'd just be weird... This update is primarily for those who have already auditioned for a female character role, if you are interested, you can also audition this the Waitress role, so as long as you are able to make the two character sounds completely different.
  • Soon.....

Hi there everyone. Before I say anything else, I would like to say thanks for following "Our Lovely Escape, Prologue Chapter [Fan Voiced]" project. :) As you all should have noticed, the initial deadline I have for the auditions to end is on Dec 2nd, and that is just 5 days away. A number of auditions were received and all of them great, however, there are still some roles that is yet to receive any auditions, or the one who auditioned them also tried for other roles, making it that if that one person gets casted for a different role, then there would be no auditions for that role. So? What does that means? Well, for now, we wait, the deadline of the auditions is still Dec 2nd, however, if on Dec 2nd, the situations still doesn't looks any better, then unfortunately, the deadline will have to be extended for another month, or at least until enough auditions are in. To those who have submitted an audition for a VA role, I will send a private message to some of you soon to join the Discord server, in there, I will have a trial script uploaded. Your task is to voiced your individual character's lines in the script and have them uploaded in the same server as a trial. This is to ensure that you are absolutely fit for the role by trying to work on a real scene rather than just a few random lines. That's all for this update. Thanks for reading and have a nice day everyone. :D
  • Auditions Checking

Hello all. Thanks for all of you guys who have sent in an audition so far. I've listened to every one of your auditions and have left a comment on my thoughts about some of them. For those who didn't received any comments, don't fret, it's not because I dislike it, but it's just cause they are fine as it is and I got nothing to add. Still, I won't be finalizing/casting any roles to anyone as of yet. I would like to wait for more auditions to come in so I can really find the perfect person for each role. Again, thanks to you guys who have taken your time to sent in an audition, when I started this casting call, I never really thought anyone would be interested so I really appreciate the attention this project is getting. Really, thank you. :D That's all for this update. I look forward to any future activities on this project. Bye bye :)

I do the edits of the video myself but I fear that my personal agenda may get in the way from time to time, not only that, I also need time to be writing the scripts which contains the lines that need to be voiced, thus, when that happens, I may need an extra pair of hands.

The work you are expected to do will not be much. Mostly just helping in adjusting the timing of the voice lines to the game.
You just need to be able to:
1. Cut gameplay video
2. Cut audio tracks
3. Adjust audio tracks to match the gameplay video

Also, only audition for this if you are using Sony Vegas version 14.0 or previous ones as the video editing software.
The reason being, I need the supporting editor to be able to directly take over editing of the ".veg" file.

Forget about the type of role, this is NOT casting call for a producer. It's just that they don't have a "Others" type for roles so I got no choice but to use producer as a placeholder.
Anyways, the name of the role should give away the details. I would like to find a group/team of people to be the QA team for this project. Your task is mainly just to wait for the production to finish and take a look on the final product, then, you will be needed to provide feedback on anything that looks wrong, out of place or voice any thoughts, suggestions and the like that you might have.

To audition for this role, you don't need to really show anything, it's just QA. If you are interested, just leave something in the audition and I will add you as one. The only requirements is that you are A) Fluent in English and B) Have eyes for details.
I will select the first 10 people who send in an audition.

To be honest, this is the first time I've ever tried to do something like this, thus, I don't have prior experiences in writing down a perfect script for our voice actors to perform their magic.

The task of this role is simply helping out in polishing and modifying written scripts to ensure necessary details are present to allow the voice actor to work their magic properly.

Apparently there is this one minor character that has lines that I didn't even notice. So, might as well give the lovely waitress a voice too.
(Those who have already auditioned can also audition for this role, so as long as you're able to make the two character sound different)

  • It's just a waitress. Say something a waitress would say.

  • (The lines for this character doesn't even go past 10 I think)
